All the different awards shows have different ways of determining the "winners", assuming nothing nefarious is going on. Grammys are not determined on sales, ranking, charts etc. They are voted upon by industry folk who belong to the RAII organization. Others are determined by sales and charting. Others by fan voting. He knows this. So it's irrelevant if it sold many more copies, it's voted on by a small group of musicians, engineers, producers, etc. I'm not saying he's wrong either, I'm just clarifying, for all you going on about the criteria.... You just apply the correct criteria to the correct awards show, as they are all different. How did they fare at the other awards shows of the same time frame? Did 50 win an American Music Award that year? Or any others? 🤟
