And the rushing impact doesn't make up for the passing deficit; Newton has 56 more career rushing TDs than Cousins, and was sacked and fumbled more than he did. Cousins is legitimately a better and more consistent QB than Newton across their careers.

The game has become mostly a passing league but back in those times a great running back was always paid their due, the best defenders always got the big money and linemen always got big money, now its mostly only the qb who get paid.

But there were expectations on these guys because we were hoping to see them to reach more of their potential.
Why would you criticize Kirk? He's elevated shit teams, played at a high level, always been team first, and he fulfills the value of his contract, unlike every QB other than Mahomes.

Cam Newton is his own worst enemy. I don't understand the hate for Kirk Cousins. I looked it up. Kirk cousins has been about the 10th best performing QB in the NFL for the past 10 years. That is quality and consistency.

This really comes down to expectations. None of us expect Kirk Cousins to be great - so when he is not. No one is asking for it. Kirk is who he is. He’s a slightly above average nfl quarterback.
Cam, Fields, and Vick all had a chance to be great. Vick really was great after his return. But there were expectations on these guys because we were hoping to see them to reach more of their potential.
