Challenge for you: start as count adalhard of ravensburg in the 867 starting date.(under the duke of swabia, who is under east francia) use your claims to become king of italy, west francia, and east francia in 1 lifetime. survive all rebellions and at least 1 succession.
I actually did this unintentionally in CK2, played over 300 hours without knowing that retinues existed in that game. I kept wondering why my enemies’ armies won most of the time. Discovered why because I watched a CK3 tutorial that said that “men at arms are similar to the retinues of CK2”
Same, wasn't until I watched some Norse video that I realized how important actual soldiers were in an army. Supply is a bitch when you're one colossal stack of 10k+ levies fighting against a tribal kingdom with a combined development score that I can count on one hand.
@Ganlix my first long CK2 playthrough I didn't know techs existed. I was doing real well until my armies got completely smashed by a much smaller empire because I hadn't clicked the tech advance button in 200 years.
I have tried levies only before, but my biggest problem is when you get to high/late medieval, it can take decades to siege down a fort without siege equipment, and supply is always a huge issue as without splitting your army 20 or 30 times, you starve to death so easily.
This is surprisingly a very viable strategy. Female character with seduction focus then just go on seducing the kings of Europe while legitimizing all your offspring. While at the same time murdering everyone in the line of succession.
@@keterpatrol7527 You have a weird definition of 'pacifist'. An intrigue focus generally means murder, kidnapping, blackmail and torture. A true pacifist game is conquering through diplomacy and marriage, would be kind of interesting to see if it's possible to start as duke (count?) and form an empire.
Man your introductions are juste the best. This with your sense of humour, just amazing. Thanks for the content man, since I watch the videos I redescovered completely the game :)
It would be cool to have an 'own every mountain tile' challenge with infinite diplomatic range enabled, as well as making your family all dwarfs. The dwarven miner challenge haha
Alternatively you could do a smart ruler run where you own or build and own every university and get 65 learning from it, with a longer empire taking every historical building site for yourself
Just a little hint to speed up peasant rebellions: click on the opponent leader and find his location, and attempt to capture him in battle. Even if he gets away, just repeat it every time he respawns and you'll get him eventually. You may end up doing a few battles, but you won't have to fight everyone
Bonus fun fact: this is also a great way to capture rebellious vassals of the same culture or religion of the rebels. As soon as the peasant leader is caught, you automatically arrest the vassals as well
A mechanic I wasn't utilizing until recently is hiring a court tutor, it gives a decent boost to child education to make your heir extra boosted, especially if you are choosing an education they aren't slotted for.
1:10 "ever since that day the idea has been gnawing at the back of my mind" I uh...dont know how to break this to you but... have you ever been tested for syphilis?
If you click on the leader of the peasant rebellion then it will move to the army they are commanding, defeating that army will capture the leader and end the war. I have used this to win multiple peasant wars that I should have lost.
You can easily do a vassal only conquest, just upgrade your intrigue and kidnap rulers before a war starts then start the war when you have a day to go on kidnap scheme. Poof war won without a battle.
Idk ck3 well enough to know If this is even a challenge.. but the idea I had is to spread one culture through out the map in somewhat of a straight line from like iceland to somewhere far east or from far northern siberia to ivory coast or something
If you want an incredible amount of levies get theocratic vassals. I have 100k levies & I only own Britannia. And they never rise up either, theocratic vassals are OP.
I like this challenge, and watching it, but at the end when you were disbanding your armies after having fought the rebels 36:23 I noticed 9 knights/champions. Were they allowed? Fighting the rebels without them would not change the result of the war, but I do not know if you used the champions accidentally in other wars, if its just that last war I would not mind it.
I say do this again, but beat a Crusade instead. Considering you can make a Levy way, way bigger then this with a better religion - like Reformed Tengri - and some nice Accolades I wager it is possible.
Doing that one now started as ivar and took British and Scandinavian empires whilst forming the HRE, now on his son and have taken empire of francia, Hispania and African empire with the kingdoms of Jerusalem and egypt. Now onto the grandson and hoping to form Rus empire before time runs out for the decision and will move onto starting a war with the Byzantines for their entire empire then the rest of Syrian empire before taking the east and then fighting the mongol horde to finish the map and turn it to Roman Empire.
I wonder if @Zieley realizes that you don't need Chivarly for the Gallant tree. But you can just run Strategist for the same Gallant tree. Right? (See him do that same thing over and over in other videos that's why I am telling)
I highly recommend going intrigue and using it to increase vassal obligations. As the emperor of west slavic by 1250’s I got to 35k levies purely because my most powerful vassals have maximum obligations
In the 1250 it’s pretty easy to have a continent spanning empire by then by the 1250s in my most recent game I had easily over 250K with most of my vassal having low obligations and on crown authority 2
@@jcritzz7837 stack knight effectiveness, knights with high prowess, bonuses to your number of knights, and there's no way it doesn't work *at least* against peasant armies
OK. Now do a no levy challenge. Mercenaries and alliances are not allowed, holy orders are allowed. Start as a Duke and become an emperor without intrigue.
Still I don't get the challenge, only levies and you had knights and men-at-arms, it would be much better do disband all troops and just live without them if it was possible because this gave you some power and could reduce the risk of potential wars.

Btw right next to you to the left is an empire which needs only 40 counties which probably would be easier bcs they are really decentralized
