    Thanks for the videos. Especially all the DIYs! The Sea Ghost 130 was the kayak I decided on when I started considering getting into kayak fishing. I'm older (55) and a big guy. Never even once been in a kayak I wanted stability and the Sea Ghost was supposed to be a very good choice for that. Someone also recommended a Pelican Catch 120 to me for a first kayak, especially for it's stability. Last January I drove by a local West Marine here in Connecticut and there was some kayaks out front, so I stopped to look at them. One was a Catch 120 and the price tag was $479.00. I couldn't pass it up, especially not knowing if I'd even enjoy kayak fishing or if I'd even be able to do it. Anyway, I love your channel and all of your videos. Maybe someday I'll get the Sea Ghost 130 when I grow up! Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge.

      @@JohnKlopp you can get a kayak super cheap if you look around. Ive been waiting for a while and found a deal on a tamarak angler, Usually about 250-500. I got mine for 180. It is a entry level one but can get you started. I have been slowly getting items to mod the thing out. Got a piranhamax 4 di in a box. Have the gear tracks coming. Lots of ideas. Mostly from this channel. Its gonna take me a while to get everything as iam on a very limited budget having 4 kids. Lol
      My first dyi will be the fishfinder system. I am going to put the head unit on the gear trac but I'm undecided about the transducer.... anyways keep your eyes out for those deals! :-)

Did you shave the head of the bolt down? thx.

    I live near about 20 miles from watauga, there are some monster Browns and rainbows in the river, if you haven’t made any reservations you should check out boots off hostel and campground in Hampton tn 2 minutes from watauga lake, cool place to stay

      What tackle do I need to bring for the trout ?

    • @jphillippi91
      @jphillippi91 5 років тому

      They don’t have camper spots there anyway but they have a few tiny cabins and a bunk house. I use a 7 ft light action rod, small jerk baits, in-line spinners, small spoons, gulp minnows are all go to lures, as far as bait, I have most luck on pieces of night crawler and live minnows, salmon peach or orange powerbait works good too as does pautzke balls of fire salmon eggs. When using bait I use a mini drop shot rig with a size 8 bait holder with about a 6 inch tag end and put my split shot on the tag end. Hope this helps!

    Any tips on mounting the transducer for a tamarack 100/120 angler?
    The back scupper holes would probably work but ive never used a fish finder before and not sure if they would get wonky if it sits to far up in it.
    Also looked at a few over the side arms like the switchblade from yak attack or mad frog liberator. Still not sure. I like the thing being out of the way and cheaper route with scupper hole mount, but worried about dmg when beaching it or it not reading right from being set in wrong position in scupper hole.

      Yeah, I figured it would be a big reach but it’s worth a shot. If I don’t get any takers, I might just raffle it off when I hit 10k subs... that was my original idea but I thought maybe I had a subscriber that might want my kayak and trade me. Also!!! Welcome back to the Patron crew man! I just saw where you join up with us again! I appreciate the heck out of it man!!🤙🏼

    Very nice clean work. I have the same type setup on my Vibe, just a littler simpler. I did not like the battery up front, so I replaced the round hatch with a larger rectangular hatch and dropped the battery in there. It lowers the center of gravity and adds stability. I also modified the foot pedals to turn the trolling motor and built my own motor speed control. Check out my channel. .👍👍👍

    The money you spend on that kayak you can buy a Jon Boat 16 ft 12 horsepower motor for the same price😂

    So would you be interested in selling the Vibe? If you get no takers on the trade, of course

      I definitely would but it would have to be for enough to purchase a used Hobie PA, are you interested in buying Nemo?

      @@KayakUSA1 Im in the market for a yak for sure. This part of the country is a big dead spot for used kayak sales. I don't mind a road trip for sure

      I have been watching a Hobie pa for sale on FB over in GA for a while I can get for $2500, that’s the best price I’ve seen so far... so that’s probably gonna be my price on Ole Nemo, keep in mind that’s with everything except the fish finder.. ie: kayak, motor, paddle, yakattack box, and all of the add ons I have installed
