I have the Back-UPS Pro BR1600SI. Other than the set of plugs (8 C-13 plugs, 6 provide battery backup) and max wattage (960w), it's the same product. It has saved my devices from numerous power events.

The unit does not support 1500 Watts it supports 900 watts. The 1500 signifies Volt Amps. Still thank you for showing the battery.

I missed this. Yes, you are 1000% correct. That's on me. I did some more research after this vid to bone up on them for future vids. :). Got another one coming -- I'll do better on that one, promise!

One question: Does your unit make any noise while plugged in (not in battery mode)? Mine produces a constant humming Sound that reminds of electrical noise.

Have they made steps or fixed the f02 error and fire hazard problems that they've been talking about on the amazon reviews?

Those warranties that you're talking about are full of fine print... for example. I had a house surge protector from Gulf Power. I had a surge event that burned out a TV, a 2000.00 Onkyo tuner and a modem. Gulf Power came out and said that the surge protector, "had not failed as indicated by the fact that there was no red light on the unit". As such the warranty, DID NOT COVER ANY OF MY LOSSES. I told him to take it off the house and get off my property.

How would this compare to CyberPower CP1500AVRLCD3

Yes and can we connect an external car battery to extend the backup time.

Yes pay twice as much for a less comfortable "Gaming" Chair. Pay twice as much for a "Gaming" UPS. APC have perfectly good office UPS's with the same VA and similar Wattage for half the price. The only thing you lose is the light at the back and the screen on the front. Neither of which justify the increased price.. for me personally.

When I plugged the ups in for the first time I got a white app light is this right for the charging process ?

  • @PurpleMusicPrincePianoCovers

Is this the BGM1500B-CA model? Because that model is only 900W, the 1500 is not indicative of how many watts it covers. In your video you mentioned your unit does 1500w, which model is that? Many thanks and great review of this.

Wonder if/when APC will release a Back-UPS Pro for Gaming, 2200VA/1320W variant for the US market/region... the US only has the 1500VA/900W variant, will we see an upgrade/revision just as the other regions have?

Heck I am skeptical of APC now with my unit. Its the BN1500M2. Same specs mostly just the previous model. I purchased this earlier in the Summer for my OLED TV and PS5. Well I read reviews saying stay away but I didn't listen as it still had a high 4.7 rating. Well I am now getting a error F07 code when my power went out and it failed to do its job while the cheaper Cyber Power 950VA Battery Backup did its job perfectly. I can't even return or exchange it. I may just buy more of the Cyber powers and go that route unless this model is proven not to do that crap.

@chasen432 Well, that's unfortunate, sorry to hear that, friend. The FAQs on APC's website states that the F07 error for your model is to do with temperature. Also states that "Errors F03-F09 cannot be corrected by the user, contact SEIT Technical Support for assistance."
You could try contacting them, before completely giving up on your unit, they hopefully may be able to help you resolve the issue.

@chasen432 Not sure why my comment was deleted. Sorry to hear of your dilemma. APC's FAQs on their website states that the F07 error for your model is due to temperature, and also "Errors F03-F09 cannot be corrected by the user, contact SEIT Technical Support for assistance." Don't go giving up on your unit just yet. Contact their tech support to see if they can help to resolve the issue.

I have one of these for my gateway and mesh router; lost power for a day….didn’t lose internet.
I don’t endorse many products and while the documentation is weak, the product and its quality are not.

Do you have to wait a certain period of time to use it or is it functional out of the box? I plugged mine in and the lcd display doesn’t work, but the power seems to go through on the surge outlets and not for the battery/surge

@@GamingTrendVideos I’m getting the 1500va “non-gaming” version, but the info I can’t find anywhere is if the 1500va/1000w is the rating for the entire system? Or just the battery backup portion

  • @1stRanger

Back to connecting the battery with leads and non-removable power cable while otherwise it's just a normal UPS. Only a gamer can buy this, so naming makes sense.😂

The best protection for a home is a smart-ups online continuous AC->DC->AC 2200VA or 3000VA ups with one or more extension batteries... but it's horribly heavy and expensive, and the newest lithium design has noise complaints. You could also setup a custom victron or ecoflow backup configuration for the entire house. But, the best cheat I've found is just to identify a few low power devices that are critical and put an ecoflow delta connected to an apc gaming ups behind it. The ecoflow will provide intelligence and long runtime during an outage (2-6hrs). The APC will provide continous fast switch AVR. And, unless you're silly enough to really have a gaming pc...900w is more than enough to power a router, nas, small email or general home server, various network switches, and home automation hub.
