Ryan, this is Philip Ford from TN. My brother and I really enjoy your video hunts with Brian. Your Alaska trip was amazing. We have our first western hunt booked this oct. in the Idaho Selway and will be traveling I-90 through your area. Is there a hide tannery you use or recommend that would be somewhat on our rout back home provided we are successful. An elk or bear throw would really put a cap on our trip. Thanks for the info and entertainment. Good luck to Yall.

It is human nature to want to grind it out in a place you think would be perfect, whether it is a fishing spot, the duckiest pond or stretch of creek, or picture perfect landscape that a deer or elk or turkey or bear SHOULD be in, but isn't. We tend to hunt the place that our gut tells us should work and our heart sees as a beautiful picturesque place to take our quarry in.
I too would trade my Idaho mule deer tag in for a cougar or bear if given the right opportunity. I don't live out west so I don't have to time to have two deer tags in my pocket (probably one bought in a leftover draw). I have tasted deer before even a mule deer (my brother's in 19), but have yet to partake in a cougar or bear meat meal.
