I tried to do this earlier without taking off the strut and just loosened the sway bar. All I did was waste my energy. I ended up removing the strut which was pretty easy to do. After that everything went smoothly
@@mdzautomotive well today was the day I tried to replace my CV axle on my 09 tahoe after watching ur vid lastnite and got no luck getting them out on ethier side, I watch ur vid at least 3 times and mine dont fall out as well as yours did, the axle is hitting on the bolt to the shocks or struts and I took out the bolt to it and the stabilizer bar and nothing is working, the only thing come to my mind is I need to remove the entire shocks because the tab on the end of shocks is in my way from trying to drop it out, got any tip for me?
Yes, you will have to remove the strut or the upper control arm, I really dont think its possible to remove the cv axle without removing one of those first. In my video I was already doing a strut replacement and went ahead and did the axle too. But I've done the other side by removing the control arm and that works too. Also try steering the front end in the direction of the axle you are removing that will give you a little more room to work with.
@@mdzautomotive ah thank u perhaps u know the name of what im looking for..my front wheels shake alot at around 50mph and someone told me its the axles idk. My truck is a 06 chevy silverado 2WD
Well if you're looking for the axles then these are it (cv axle) one for each side. Its possible that it could also be the wheel hub, also one for each side. But if that was my truck I would look into getting my tires re-balanced first, cause I've had that happen before and the balancing fixed the issue. Hope this helps!
I'm taking my '07 Tahoe to do the same job thank you for the video, it was very informative.
