The quickest way may be a big tin of acrylic fibre sealing paint. It's used on flat and tin roofs, will stick to anything. You can roller or brush it on, even in the wet. It's not cheap, and a bit overkill, but gets it over and done with. Tony is such a nice chap.
The tape I referred to is mastic tape You remove roof pieces and refit on top of the tape, like double sided but not sellotape stuff. Anyhoo, bonne courage
My motorhome is held together by - mastic, expanding foam, Green stuff (brilliant, ebay delamination green) and some cromopol which fixes leaks but isnt smooth so holds water, gets dirty quickly. my rooflite hinge has a crack and I think let's water in on mine Only noticed when waterproofing mine myself.
I'm currently having a week off work to sort out all the problems with The Mansion, so I have the time to film, edit, and publish videos on the day and follow advice in real time.
Hello my friend. Well I really hope you are getting there with the motor home. I’m now a subscriber to your channel 😜I have a motor home too. Take care buddy. I might even see you around sometime on your travels 😂 I live in North Yorkshire near a place called Malton. Anyway you take care of yourself pal. From jay 👍
That flash banding should work a treat. Just clean the skylight and roof before applying. I wonder is it wide enough to fold it over the top lip of the skylight. When it’s raining have a look from the inside at the bolts that hold the skylight to the opening/closing brackets they can let water in as well. I dab of sealer on the outside should cure that.
It's called Bitumen Primer by Pro in B&Q. Literally paint on, let it dry before you apply the flash band, Paint it slightly larger than the flash band size.
grand bloke old tony ,i said it b4 do him proud ,when weather improves ,and you stand corrected with your shopping lol ,get this right tim and your well away, fingers crossed all goes well cheers sam
With your resilience and mental fortitude, bringing back this van to its former glory will be a walk in the park. Go easy, my liege..

Tony is such a nice chap.
I have ordered a tin of dark green and dark brown to paint a camouflage design on the roof.
Lol love that your hands are still covered with tiger seal, made me laugh, Tony is a lovely fella. Keep going with the build mate im hooked
I am determined to seal that damned roof, and armed with loads of advice from my viewers, I feel I have a better chance of succeeding now.
@@SocksWithSandalsdefinitely its a done deal mate, love your determination and think your home will be great when its done

Yes, the roof vent seems to be a weak spot on so many fibreglass motorhomes.
Great to have you back on UA-cam on a more regular basis.I love your vlogs, you couldn’t be boring if you tried.

Cheers, Jay.
We're having a drop of rain at the moment, and this is the test I needed to find out if the waterproofing has finally succeeded.
Hope you get it sorted before the winter. You should get a log burner installed.
No, I should not get a log burner in there. A diesel heater will do the job much more safely.
Yes wise move

I have all the correct materials now.
I'm ready to finally do the job properly.
I see you got the flash band, couldn't see the primer though?
Essential you paint on the primer before you stick the flash band, or it won't work. 👍
I'm listening.

I live on a boat, rainy equinoxical storms are the worst of all days.
We get the tail end of the Caribbean hurricane season here.
Looks like you should be making good progress soon🤞
Is great having a UA-cam channel, because I can cock up a job totally and get all the advice in the world on how to do it properly next time.
Looks like Charlie and Richard will be round at yours for Christmas dinner Tim.
It's a non-smoking mansion. 🚭
You’ll always walk with dirty hands? You also could buy baking soda.
A few days is not as long as always, Olexondr.
@@SocksWithSandalsmy name is Oleh, no Olexondr.
I see they still make Swarfega hand cleanser, Tim...don't know how effective it would be for the black stuff.
Looks like you got stitched up mate.
You've bought a rot box, best to scrap it and move on 😮
Incorrect.
Ok, but it looks like you're polishing a turd 😂😊
Not all day well sometimes cheers Tim gorilla tape is good for seems brother ❤
After two clear days in a row, I will prepare the roof and have another stab at it; my third attempt!
Tony is a real gent. Love it
Old school.
Isn't it time London Living came back to sort her mess out ?
What a stupid irrelevant question.
Make sure your next comment is better, David.
I showed up to make the mess; therein lies the difference.

Thank you Sam. Yes, I believe I can rescue Tony's old motorhome.
@@SocksWithSandals correct answer 😁
Chuffed that my comment made the cut! The eisteddfodic word for resilient is 'gwydn' and you are certainly that.
I must check out your channel again, Daf.
God I'm binging on this muvva of a channel!
I am always surprised and delighted when I get binge-watch confessions!
