So much for "Riorozen" then. If you have a look through the comment replies on Rollie's videos, you find a recurring pattern of a few people posting comments just saying stuff to try and convince others casually reading to think Rollie's "talking out his ass" or, in this case, shouldn't be allowed to vote because he isn't rich or military... Then tons of people reply to them asking to explain their half-baked opinion comments and they're never heard from again. Classic MO of bots that businesses now use on social media platforms to try and steer and cajole discussions and opinions in a certain direction.
The fact Rollie is a lifelong US citizen who has put way more time, thought, care and effort into actually learning about complicated economic and political operations, climate studies, getting a degree in climate science and making a huge effort to try and do something constructive for the country is apparently not good enough for this guy. He wants only the rich to be allowed to vote...spoken like a true naziPOS who hates his country and hates freedom and democracy.

It's really depressing how a cursory walk-through history shows that we, as a species, repeatedly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. We had so many off ramps for the destruction of our planet and we kept getting distracted by rustling banknotes. The amount of Chrome tabs this man has open means he's been putting in the work. I love how you actually recommend and provide solutions about activism towards a brighter future. Most people will hear this terrible stuff and just think “Welp, there’s nothing I can do”. Which is a very close-minded way of thinking, but I understand why most people would be confused/scared and just try to get on with their day.

Also, I'm referring to the recent American anti natural gas stove campaign that got kicked to the curb in a matter of weeks after too many rational people recognized it as bunk.
@@gmw3083 A lot of conservatives really like their gas stoves and really don't like being told what they can and cannot have. This is especially the case in Texas where we apparently haven't figured out how to winterize our fucking power grid, so blackouts have become common place in recently harsh winters.
Some people used their gas stoves during these blackouts to heat their homes when they otherwise couldn't. However, what I think is especially stupid about the emergency stove is that if our fucking power grid was robust we wouldn't need to heat our homes with kitchen appliances to survive...
I don't know about any pro stove astroturfing from oil companies though I'm sure it exists, but I haven't seen anything.

I don't know what's more amazing is the fact that cigarette makers defended the idea that it was still safe or that they were able to make smoking cool in the first place? Imagine everyone's first time trying a cigarette? Choke choke choke never again. How did they get people pass that and the idea of actually inhaling smoke? I think that's the amazing part.
Smoked tobacco has been around for a long time. Obviously marketing helped it blow up in recent history but people already understood the concept.
They sold "friendship" " community" "romance" "sex"... Cigarette ads featured gorgeous people other people wanted to be or fuck looking like they were having a fantastic time. Not a solitary, sickly person processing their stage 4 cancer diagnosis.

So I was listening to NPR today, and they were talking about gas stoves (Cooking with gas!), which I knew about from CT (Yay!). They also said that gas stove manufacturers have developed the technology to increase efficiency and reduce pollution from gas stoves by some large % (don't remember offhand). When did they develop this technology? 40 years ago.

Then they decided not to implement this technology because that blue flame gas stove produce would be gone. Yes, really.
Oh, and after that segment, they talked about how 2022 was Exxon Mobil's most profitable year ever. And in fact, it was the most profit any oil company has ever had.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. Most major conflicts in the past century have been geopolitical fights for fossil fuel rights. The conflict in Kashmir, the decades of war in Iraq and Afghanistan, even the current war waged by Russia against Ukraine, they're all proxy fights started by major energy corporations and their oligarchs over fossil fuel control. Manufacturing a public mandate for their continued political power in American government (and by extension, military) by faking public support is a drop in the bucket in their laundry list of sins.

The fact that they think people will take that commercial seriously, or that the star in the Texas logo at 2:29 is on Dallas rather than the actual state capital Austin. Cheap abundant on demand energy is the solution to climate change. Human’s are able to live and thrive on parts of the planet that would never be possible without cheap abundant on demand energy.
Can you investigate Just Stop Oil? as this supposed 'anti-oil group' is so bad at gaining public support and good upsetting ordinary people that it should be funded by big oil if it is not already.

Big corps in my hometown used some astroturfing tactics to stop a train from being built. It didn’t work, fortunately. It’s made me much more skeptical of “grassroots” orgs. Gotta follow the money.
For those who are wondering, how can we make a difference? Write a letter to the lawmakers of your state or region, and encourage people to do the same. If these lobbyists can make them think
its widely unpopular, flood them with mail that directly contradicts otherwise. for those who are on the fence- this just might sway them back.

I can't put into words how much I appreciate what you guys do. This is something that affects literally every day of my life. Every time I go to pick up my kids from school and see 30 cars running while the parents get out of the cars to go find their kids, every time I see 20 SUVs and huge trucks on the road with zero cargo and one passenger... every time I see a cruise ship, or a private jet whisking away a billionaire to their next meeting which would take 45 minutes to get to by car... I don't know. Basically I get stressed about this stuff all the time, and even passing on that sickness to my kids without realizing it, then feel bad for that because it causes me so much distress. nonetheless I think it's important for them to care about too... thank you.

In the UK wood burning is becoming increasingly demonised busy such pressure groups, I would stop burning wood if I could afford the gas or even go solar but surely the same thing is happening as gas companies loose to wood burning. In fact a total ban proposal is being lobbied… I wonder how that will help profit for gas companies here who say there is a gas crises here but also made a huge profit this year
