Just some advice, I think your overthinking the rooms. Just go with what you gravitate towards and make it work. Colours don't have to match, you can have different shades of one colour in a room and those next to each other on the colour wheel and it will still work. Have fun with the process because that will reflect in your room too. And don't be afraid to introduce block colours into the room. Just my opinion as someone who paints and loves colours. My rooms are neutrals with splashes of colour to bring it to life too.
