It does make me wonder why she didn't react after Kokichi asked Tenko how she knew about him liking Himiko. (Maybe Tenko secretly ships them, too, but doesn't want to admit it). XD
Great comment, but for an unpopular reason: I ship Kokichi x Tenko and Himiko x Shuichi. 😊 Shuichi and Himiko are cute together, and Kokichi could manipulate Tenko into serious, well deserved, self doubts 😁
Remember a fanfic I read on AO3 a while back where Shuichi notices that the Himiko line wasn’t in Kokichi’s script and Maki responds by violently killing Himiko. What a scenario lol
Spoilers for chapter 5 Since kokichi and kaito planned this together, kokichi gave kaito a note to make him know how to act around the others. Which means, kokichi specifically told kaito to tell himiko he liked him.
Actually, Kaito said he improvised a bunch of stuff so this was probably the case, kokichi couldn’t just script everything because he didn’t know how the trial would work
To people who don't understand why Oumeno is a thing, I will say that this scene here isn't the best evidence for it. This scene is cute (despite the person in the exisal being Kaito), but the best evidence for Oumeno is post trial in Ch. 3 where Kokichi gets Himiko to express her feelings. I don't think most people realize how profound that scene was, not only for Himiko, but for Kokichi, as well. Himiko doesn't exactly play a significant role in the game (at least not in the way Shuichi does, since he's the protagonist who is leading the trials), so she's not exactly useful to Kokichi in any way. So it wasn't necessary for him to say anything to her after the 3rd trial ended. He did NOT have to say anything to her at all. It wouldn't have no benefit to him or anyone else. He could have just left her alone like Shuichi suggested, but Kokichi didn't do that. Whereas Shuichi *thought* it was best for Himiko to be left alone, Kokichi *knew* that the best thing for her was to get her to confront her feelings. He ALLOWED himself to be honest with her. For a moment, he took down his facade for HER. Because if he allowed himself to be honest with her, she'd express her own honest feelings. As stern as he sounded, I believe he truly felt compassion and sympathy for her. Himiko was able to touch him to the point where he decided to have a heart-to-heart with her even though he knew it wouldn't benefit him in any way. He decided to be honest FOR HER, and probably because he wanted her to have a chance to redeem herself. Not only that, he allowed everyone else to cry and comfort Himiko, as well. I feel like if Kokichi hadn't said anything, Himiko might not have lived to see the next day, since she was feeling survivor's guilt in the trial. And I think that's why it's the best Oumeno moment. These two have quite a bit in common, as well. They both lie to themselves as a coping mechanism, they're both imaginative; Kokichi talks about his life as an "evil supreme leader" while Himiko talks about her life as a "mage." They're both child-like, and most likely to get on everyone else's nerves. XD They're both really rude to Keebo, and (after Ch. 3), Kokichi and Himiko boss Miu around and make her squeal. I feel like more evidence for Oumeno is really subtle and most people don't catch them. I'm not saying the observations I've made are concrete evidence; they're just things I've found interesting that could possibly point to Oumeno being more likely. In the prologue when everyone is being surrounded by the exisals, Miu said they'd better kill all the uggos first. Then, Kokichi says "Run, Himiko!" I find this interesting, since, of all the characters Kokichi could have chosen, he picked Himiko. He could have chosen Miu herself, since she's the one who brought it up, or he could have even chosen Keebo, since he was chasing Keebo earlier. He literally could have picked *anyone* but he went with Himiko. Because of that, I think that's what may have started Himiko's crush on Kokichi, since she mistook his teasing for genuine concern. She probably never had a guy feel concerned about her before, so she might have developed feelings for him. And Kokichi teasing her is consistent throughout the game. For instance, another moment similar to the prologue one is in the Ch. 4 trial when they're talking about the brick handrail. Again, out of all the characters he could have chosen to say that they mentioned the handrail, he picked Himiko. He could have picked anyone else, but he went with her. I found it interesting why he's always fixated on her. Even in the trials where Kokichi had blamed Himiko for the crime, he ended up bailing her out in the end. I find his fixation on her interesting. It might not be anything romantic, but it makes me wonder how Kokichi actually feels towards her. Another thing that I found interesting was Kokichi "confessing" his love for Himiko was different than him confessing it for Shuichi, or anyone else he might have said that to. He's always said out of his own mouth that he loved Shuichi, and that Shuichi is his favorite, etc. etc. And when Kaede was alive, he said from his own mouth that he cares about her. These might be true, but it's hard to tell coming from the mouth of a liar. HOWEVER, whenever he "confessed" his feelings for Himiko, it was (in two instances) out of the mouths of people who are way more honest than Kokichi: Tenko and Kaito. I'm not saying this is proof, and it is an outlandish theory, but it just feels like Kokichi can't bring himself to say it, so Tenko and Kaito had to say it for him. Also, I do find it interesting that every time Kokichi complimented Himiko or "confessed" his feelings for her, he either changed the subject or teased her right after. When Tenko brought up that Kokichi must like Himiko, Kokichi asked how did she know before dropping the subject completely by saying that they should talk about that later. In Ch. 4 when Himiko and Miu were having a little tiff, Kokichi came in and gave Himiko some kind of backhanded compliment saying that "for someone who looks like canned tuna, you sure make good comebacks." He complimented her while insulting her at the same time. And in the ch. 5 trial, after Kaito said to Himiko (as Kokichi) that he loves her, he later proceeds to call her a dumb monkey. All these are reminiscent of cartoons I used to watch back then where cartoon characters, like Helga from Hey Arnold, Cindy from Jimmy Neutron, or even Numbuh 4 from Codename: Kids Next Door didn't want to admit to their crush that they liked them, so to hide it, they teased or ridiculed them. (Probably another reason why I ship Oumeno, since it feels kinda nostalgic. I miss those old cartoons). I don't believe Himiko hated Kokichi, and vice versa, like most people believe. Himiko has been shown to express her hatred for someone. and that someone is Kiyo. She was *ready* to let him die! However, even after all the crap Kokichi had pulled, Himiko still didn't want him to die. In chapter 5 when they were getting ready to battle Kokichi at the the exisal hangar, Maki said she was going to kill Kokichi. Himiko didn't want that to happen because she said it would only make them feel bad. Also, if she truly hated Kokichi, she wouldn't have blushed like she did when "Kokichi" said that he likes her. If she really hated Kokichi, she probably would have been sick to her stomach. I don't believe she'd blush at just anyone complimenting her, like many people have said. She didn't do it for Tenko when Tenko was giving her all sorts of compliments. I'm sure she wouldn't have done it with some of her other classmates, as well, especially Kiyo (even before he killed Angie and Tenko. He was just too creepy). But even after all the things Kokichi had done to them, she still blushed. Also, in the Ch. 5 trial, she scolds "Kokichi" telling him not to bully the person he likes. If she believes that, then what she said in the Ch. 4 trial might further indicate that she had a crush on Kokichi. In the Ch. 4 trial, Kokichi said to everyone "You guys bully and gang up on me, and you're going to call yourselves *good people?!*" Himiko then responds with "I never ganged up-" but Kokichi cuts her off. Believing that one should never bully the person they like, it was never her intent to gang up on Kokichi, and if she did, it sounded as if she felt remorse for it. I think that's all the clues I have for now. I'm probably missing some, but I can't think of anymore at the top of my head. Sorry for this being so long. I find it disappointing and frustrated that people crap on Oumeno just because it seems "obvious" that they hate each other, when, if people would just take the time to see the subtle hints, then they'd see that there's something going on underneath the surface that might point to Oumeno being something plausible. I'm not saying any of the stuff I said is concrete evidence, but I think it's at least enough to prove that they didn't hate each other like people say they did. There was literally no reason for Kokichi to hate Himiko. And although Himiko at least had a little more of a reason to hate Kokichi, she didn't express adamant hatred for him like she did for Kiyo.
@@Deoxycation Thank you for taking he time to read it. I didn't mean for it to be so long, I just wanted others to understand that there's more to the ship than just "Kokichi bullying Himiko," and "Himiko hating Kokichi," etc.
@@Christian_Bale_fr May not be many, and I still have more reasons (though I won't write them because my analysis is long enough). But, these are MY reasons based on what I've observed in the game myself. Other Oumeno shippers have their own reasons.
i love oumeno w my entire heart, so please consider me biased! but i love this scene. it’s not my fav oumeno scene, but i find it cute regardless of the circumstances (aka kaito being the one in the exisal). i know everyone has their own interpretations of this, but i was thinking… we know kaito to be a very honest guy. he believes in what he wants to believe, no matter what and is always navigating through the trials w what he believes to be right. i trust him to be the kind of person who, even w a promise to uphold, would stay true to his character. hence why, i doubt his improvisations would consist of startling or creating false hope in one of his friends. besides, kaito, even if he was improvising, would still try his best to mimic kokichi. which means, this is genuinely what he assumes kokichi would say. w this in mind, i find that, if this is one of kaito’s improvs, there is a chance that it consists of some truth. on the other hand, if we are assuming that this statement is a lie, then it’s likely that kokichi wrote it in his notes for kaito. which means kokichi took the time to add it in (this would be his second time indicating his “crush” on himiko). that’s why i believe that the claims of kaito being in the exisal doesn’t take away from the “oumeno-ness” of this scene. hehe, even w this scene alone, kokichi and kaito have created an unsolvable case… what a pain. :’)
This is my favorite ship (well, it's the only one I ship). XD I love Oumeno so much!! I don't know exactly how Kokichi really felt about Himiko, but I do believe that Himiko at least had a crush on him (before chapter 5, anyway). ^-^
Either Kokichi wrote the line in himself, or Kaito came up with it on the spot. So it's a 50/50 chance for Kokichi to have really meant to say that to Himiko (though whether it was another lie or not may depend on personal criteria).
@@encajado6302 (Hey, you're here)! ^-^ That's true, and I feel like Kokichi wrote pretty much everything in there, except for when Kaito (in the exisal) didn't know about hope and despair, and when he questioned who Junko was. Other than that, I personally believe most of everything else was written by Kokichi. I just don't think Kaito is able to improvise as well as Kokichi. That being said, I wanna believe he wrote that line for Himiko...and I do want to believe that what he said was true, but I'm not entirely sure I can. It's frustrating. XP
I think this was something kaito made up and the things on the script were mainly work arounds for what shuichi would say. (Normalize male and female friendships) I also think Himiko did not think about love at all through the game and the only reason people would ship them is cuz of their height.
@@MarzzBarz_-_ I feel like the only things Kaito made up was when he questioned Junko Enoshima and "hope and despair' because he and Kokichi weren't available for that last flashback light, so there was no way Kaito knew about them. Other than that, I can't see Kaito saying everything else. He's just not that smart when it comes to improvising (apologies if you're a Kaito fan). I have my reasons for why I think Himiko had a crush on Kokichi, though I'm not sure if you're willing to hear it. And I think it's a bit unfair to say that the only reason people ship them is because of their height. That is not true, and even if people did ship them just because of their height, that's not exactly a bad thing. People have other reasons for shipping them and instead of flat out assuming that people ship them because of their height, you should ask them the *real* reasons why they ship Oumeno.
I'm not going to add this to my "essay" because that thing is already long enough, but I wanted to present more of my reasons as to why I ship Oumeno. I've thought a lot about it for a while, and I've noticed that Kokichi doesn't *straight up* insult Himiko. If you notice, he'll call the other students that he usually insults dumb, stupid, or ugly (usually when referring to Miu, Kaito, and Gonta), or even worthless, or boring (referring to Keebo). He even calls Tsumugi a hardcore loser in the first trial. However, when it comes to Himiko, he never calls her any of that stuff, which is strange, considering that Kokichi pretty much says anything he wants, so you'd think he'd have no problem calling Himiko straight up ugly or dumb. When Miu said that the exisals should kill all the uggos first, Kokichi tells Himiko to run, but he never really straight up calls her ugly. In the second trial, when Himiko mentions the glass panel being the lid to the piranha tank, Kokichi called that a useless little detail. That would have been the perfect time to call her "dummy," or something. Another time is in the fourth chapter when Kokichi says she looks like "canned tuna." Why not just straight up say she looks ugly or disgusting? Even in the fourth trial, when he says it's too bad her chest hasn't grown up, he could have just called her "titless" like Miu has called her in the past. In the third trial, Kokichi referred to Miu's boobs as "cow tits," so why not straight up say that Himiko has "no tits," or just call her "flatso?" It's as if he truly doesn't want to hurt her feelings (or at least, that's what I'd like to believe). XD Again, maybe I'm looking way too much into this, but it's something I couldn't help but notice.
@@solasista5661wait but didn't it say somewhere in their relationship charts that Kokichi called Himiko an "extremely ugly girl"? I'm not trying to hate on the ship or what you said above, I'm just confused
@@yukibackrooms Probably. I don't even know if I could trust even that. He is still a liar, after all. I mean, if we're using that as proof, then why would he call Kaede deplorable, for instance? He didn't call her deplorable in the game, as far as I'm aware. He said he cared about her, and before her execution, he called her "not boring." So, why would he call her "deplorable" in the relationship chart?
Hmm I don't really think Kokichi really likes Himiko however I respect this ship. But I will give some points to why this ship is unlikely: Firstly, (SPOILERS) We know that that's not Kokichi in the Exisal, it's Kaito and I doubt that Kokichi wrote that he likes Himiko, since of course Kokichi wouldn't be able to write everything possible since he wouldn't have known how the trial went and also Kaito probably added a lot of things by himself and this may have been one of them. Secondly, even if Kokichi had wrote that, he probably didn't mean it, and was just messing around with Himiko since he knows that Himiko gets flustered easily no matter what, which leads me to believe that no matter who said the same thing, Himiko would have the same reaction so even if Kokichi somewhat liked Himiko she probably doesn't like him back and she was just taken of guard by his words as she is also very naive. Finally, if I remember correctly Kokichi did fluster Himiko a few times in the past trials, and I believe he just wanted to tease Himiko to take advantage of her character being naive. So this leads to the conclusion their relationship is just a play-around thing rather than a romantic one where they have actual feelings for eachother.
Yeah, Tenko says to Kokichi that guys pick on girls they like to get their attention and then accused him of liking Himiko. Then he replied with "Huh? How did you know? Actually, let's save that conversation for later." I'd like to believe what he said, but, he is a liar. BUT, you sometimes don't know if he's telling the truth or not, so he could have actually meant what he said.
1 it was prolly improvised by kaito cuz I’m pretty sure kokichi mainly wrote the script to work his way around shuichi, and this is the only time y’all actually believe a lie💀💀
@@mikadosannoji553 well maybe some people would look it up for whatever reason right after getting to this part. @@botagozmukataeva5297 i think it's mostly because he's so affectionate/playful with shuichi. there's been numerous occasions, such as: • the trustworthy? note written under shuichi's face on ouma's board of all of his classmates • the love hotel scene, in which ouma is the only character apart from kaede who says shuichi's name, as well as keeping shuichi's ultimate talent intact. it's notable that this is the most authentic version of shuichi out of all of the students' ideal fantasies. • kokichi behaves affectionately with shuichi and teases him playfully rather than exploiting his flaws (like with himiko's neglect towards tenko in v3-3 or kaito's idealistic nature in v3-4), giving him the pet name "shumai" which directly mirrors kaito's nicknames for maki • in kokichi and shuichi's knife free time event, ouma states he has already won "the game" by "stealing shuichi's heart." this is playful, but can be interpreted as romantic as well. • in chapter 4, kokichi separates kaito and shuichi not only to gain shuichi's attention but to prevent shuichi from adopting kaito's flawed philosophical views to believe in others simply because he wants to. one could infer that ouma doesn't want shuichi to foolishly believe in others because it could put him at risk or impair his ability to find the truth despite his emotional bias. • when shuichi calls kokichi out at the end of trial four, ouma appears genuinely affected. a tell for when ouma is telling the truth, it seems, is when his face is blank and devoid of any emotion as not to give away his true feelings. • in the bonus mode, kokichi states in his harmonious heart scene that, "maybe I was born into this world just to meet you”, which refers from a scene in evangelion. this particular line also happened to be stated by a character that had a same-sex crush on evangelion's protagonist. basically, there's a lot to go off. his feelings for saihara are up to interpretation, but if one were to consider this canon it would confirm that ouma, in the very least, isn't straight.

Obviously Kokichi knew that Himiko liked him (You don't have to be very smart to know that) so he decided to use that to play with her emotions.

*"Hey, Don't Play With Himiko's Heart!"*
i love oumeno w my entire heart, so please consider me biased! but i love this scene. it’s not my fav oumeno scene, but i find it cute regardless of the circumstances (aka kaito being the one in the exisal).
i know everyone has their own interpretations of this, but i was thinking… we know kaito to be a very honest guy. he believes in what he wants to believe, no matter what and is always navigating through the trials w what he believes to be right. i trust him to be the kind of person who, even w a promise to uphold, would stay true to his character. hence why, i doubt his improvisations would consist of startling or creating false hope in one of his friends.
besides, kaito, even if he was improvising, would still try his best to mimic kokichi. which means, this is genuinely what he assumes kokichi would say. w this in mind, i find that, if this is one of kaito’s improvs, there is a chance that it consists of some truth. on the other hand, if we are assuming that this statement is a lie, then it’s likely that kokichi wrote it in his notes for kaito. which means kokichi took the time to add it in (this would be his second time indicating his “crush” on himiko).
that’s why i believe that the claims of kaito being in the exisal doesn’t take away from the “oumeno-ness” of this scene.
hehe, even w this scene alone, kokichi and kaito have created an unsolvable case… what a pain. :’)
Yall forgetting kokichi wrote stuff for kaito to say so he wrote that he was trying to make moves on her 😂

People have other reasons for shipping them and instead of flat out assuming that people ship them because of their height, you should ask them the *real* reasons why they ship Oumeno.
i dont think its a lie cuz he said it like around two times or more. if it was a lie, he wouldn't even bother to repeat it ever again. @@encajado6302

@@thatstheteasis5072 it was a joke
@acegan7303 you said it was a head canon 🤷🏽♀️
Actually, kokichi called her 'ugly' and 'not grown chest" before
@@astxxo4491 But, when did he say that?
@@yukibackrooms
When did he call her a ugly?
Blud Rlly Said "Nuh Uh"
Well, it really shouldn't be kokichi over there.
Hmm I don't really think Kokichi really likes Himiko however I respect this ship. But I will give some points to why this ship is unlikely:
Firstly, (SPOILERS) We know that that's not Kokichi in the Exisal, it's Kaito and I doubt that Kokichi wrote that he likes Himiko, since of course Kokichi wouldn't be able to write everything possible since he wouldn't have known how the trial went and also Kaito probably added a lot of things by himself and this may have been one of them.
How did kokichi even imagine this scenario would even happen 😭

Actually, let's save that conversation for later." I'd like to believe what he said, but, he is a liar. BUT, you sometimes don't know if he's telling the truth or not, so he could have actually meant what he said.

@@botagozmukataeva5297 i think it's mostly because he's so affectionate/playful with shuichi. there's been numerous occasions, such as:
• the trustworthy? note written under shuichi's face on ouma's board of all of his classmates
• the love hotel scene, in which ouma is the only character apart from kaede who says shuichi's name, as well as keeping shuichi's ultimate talent intact. it's notable that this is the most authentic version of shuichi out of all of the students' ideal fantasies.
• kokichi behaves affectionately with shuichi and teases him playfully rather than exploiting his flaws (like with himiko's neglect towards tenko in v3-3 or kaito's idealistic nature in v3-4), giving him the pet name "shumai" which directly mirrors kaito's nicknames for maki
• in kokichi and shuichi's knife free time event, ouma states he has already won "the game" by "stealing shuichi's heart." this is playful, but can be interpreted as romantic as well.
