  • Nice restoration example of a 1973 XR75. This was the first model year and the bike that started the motorcycle addiction for many of us!

    I think the Honda SL70 came before it, but the XRs were huge and quickly took over, didn't they?

    Omg thank you for putting this video up. That thing right there was responsible for 100k miles on trails and hills and I learned everything I needed to know to race and forever ride motorcycles. It is beautiful! And I can attest that's the best built motorcycle ever made possibly and I have an XR650R right beside me. I couldn't hurt that motorcycle and I will remember it for eternity.

    Damn, that brings back some memories for me.
    My Dad bought me a 73' XR-75 in 76'. It was mint. Paid $300.00 for it. I out grew it , but still rode it. Finally sold it. Should have kept it.
    Thanks for sharing your video 👍

    Got one in 1973 for my 7th birthday. Rode it until my 10th birthday and then i got a new cr125 which was way to big but lots of fun. Pob owned over 30 bikes in all up until today. This little Xr75 was my favorite out of them all.

    So nice! What type of carburetor do you have and what originally came with it? I currently have a 73 I'm restoring, and have a Keihin pc03a carburetor (that may have been the original )thats shot so Im running a similar "knock off" of the original. I just got It started but cant seem to keep it running or rev it while trying to tune it. Thinking about buying an original, but I see some originals don't have the "Pc03a". What should I look for? Thanks!

    • @kingdebary
      @kingdebary  4 роки тому +1

      it's the original carb rebuilt. don't buy the Chinese junk. you can still buy new Keihins for around 40.00 on ebay

    • @rexmisfit509
      @rexmisfit509 4 роки тому

      kingdebary yeah this was an old project and that carb was bought a while ago anyways.
      Whats the carburetor model number for these early XR’s especially the 73?
