OK so 6 seconds in and the equation suddenly doubles in size with zero explanation as to why or what just happened - it's like you have to already know how to solve the problem before you can learn how to solve the problem 🤨
In order to combine the fractions into one fraction we need a common denominator, which is x (x+1). The only way to add two fractions is to express both under that same common denominator. So we must insert x + 1 into the denominator of the first fraction, and x into the denominator of the second. But we can only do that by multiplying both the top and bottom of the first fraction by x + 1, and of the second fraction by x. The only legal operation to change a fraction like that is to multiple the top and bottom by the same number. The problem is that if a gave a long winded explanation like that in the video, people would leave. Viewers get bored quickly and will exit if you drone on too long or add too many details.
@@TheTentativeTutor Thank you for the reply, I don't fully understand everything that you said, but my math skills are pretty weak and I'm one of the few that NEED those long-winded explanations and actually love it when I can find them. I get what you're saying about people quickly getting bored though, I'm a full-time UA-camr and know all too well how short attention spans can be these days. It's easy to find math sequence "demonstrations" but actually finding math sequence EXPLANATIONS is exceedingly rare, which is why I sometimes word my comments a bit impatiently, as I did above. Thank you again for the detailed reply, it is exactly what I was looking for 👍
My biggest challenge is retention. Keeping them engaged for more than a minute. People subscribe at a decent rate (per views) but I have to work on retention. It's not fun if you put all the time into creating and editing an hour long video, and then find the average watch time is still one minute ! I do hope you'll stick around. I'd like to do longer videos if I can figure out a way to increase viewer retention........
But 1/0 is not 0, it's actually undefined. One could say it's infinity, except that's not normally a number. Try graphing the function and see what it looks like.
Underrated channel. Nice vid
Thanks ! And thanks for watching.
keep it up nice ved

x= 0 proof: 1/0 = 0+1/0+1 = 1

Zero
It doesn't seem to work.....
Yeah 0
Hmmmm ?
