Another thing I like to do is sit just under the projector with a pair of binoculars. You can really see the patterns well. I learned to do this back in my CRT projector days where you had to do convergence.
Thanks so much! Channel is growing nicely. It was standing behind my AV rack in the basement and not being to read the numbers on the ports of the back of the my Ethernet switch when I first realized something was changing...LOL.
I use the white printer paper method to set up my anamorphic lens by positioning the paper between the projector lens and the anamorphic lens in order to centre and position the anamorphic lens itself.
Thanks, just watching this gave me an idea of the solution to my problem-having little to do with what you actually shared! I have an old(at least 25 years) corporate lcd projector and a home made roll-up screen of some sort of white shiny material. I have enjoyed this for years and after not using it all at for a year or so, an unfocused area about 8” square has developed a little above the middle of the image(based on 6’ image). After bumming me out and confusing the hell out of me, it just came to me to look at the SCREEN and see if time rolled-up has created a stretched out portion of the screen. Thanks for making the idea come to me!
Man you’re never too old to learn! That’s a neat, cheap trick! Well my vision is just the opposite of yours! I’m near sighted. I wear glasses but take them off to read anything upclose. Up close is Crystal Clear but Far away viewing is my problem! If you need my help I’m a text away!!🤣👴🏽
Well I’m sorry but I bought a Disc version PS5. I was waiting on yours but I think you were having Pre-Seller’s remorse!🤣 No problem I really wanted the Disc version. I purchased Sony’s Horizon Forbidden West bundle yesterday and I only paid $495! Great Deal! I’ve been searching for 2yrs and finally snatched one!!🍾🎊👴🏽
I use a Chief RPA mount right now. I like the brand. If/when I upgrade to an NZ JVC though, those are heavier so might need a new mount, but I haven't researched a good pick yet for that.

@@Techthusiasm Mine doesn't have a Remote. It's just a control panel on the side with: Power/AV Component Input/3.5mm Output, and Volume/Color/Contrast. These are turned up completely. Only controls available on the Projector. But, think I may try a Component AV to HDMI Adapter. Should hopefully help. It's ok for watching games or movies on the ceiling. But not sharp enough image on canvas. Not even close.
Sorry, but this only makes sense if you have a broken screen. Plus, I'd rather setup the projector to correct for screen flows, than get the best possible projection, which doesnt give me the best possible picture.
Hmm, interesting thought. Is it better to focus the projector in an absolute sense (in which case use the paper) or focus taking into consideration screen impact (in which case just use the screen regardless of how it interferes)? I might still think that "best" focus comes from making sure it's sharpest from the lens.
@@TechthusiasmReally depends how "fixed" is your screen - but the same way you calibrate the projector color to match the screen, the same I would use the screen itself to get the focus. Still, I use only a flat wall, so maybe I cant relate to using a screen.
This is only pertinent to those with textured screens which are a minority. And it has nothing to do with the brand of projector that you have. Another video whose title is misleading!
Zooming doesn't make it brighter. You use zoom and shift as needed just to fill your screen properly. Usually having the projector close on its focal length and zooming less should result in better brightness.
@@Techthusiasm Oh ok I have epson ls12000 and have been getting conflicting advice regarding wide angle zoom all the way = better brightness... thank you. this video was very helpful for setting up lens focus

LOL, that’s genius!
Yeah I used to use binoculars for focus assist when I worked at a local indie cinema.
Lol, this might be the first good use of these since I bought them years ago.
yep I used those before when my projectors didnt have remote zoom..in fact I still have my pair in the HT room :D
But what if your binoculars aren't quite focused properly? 😉
Oooh I’m going to try this when I get home to see if I’m off with the focus a bit. Thanks for sharing
Update: Totally worked 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome! I have another quick projector tip I started doing coming soon as well.
Great tip and congrats to 2K subscribers and hey, welcome to the reading glasses club. It's great to be able to read text again ;o)

What is the brand of the projector?
I currently have a JVC NX7.
Been fighting on just what is focused. I will certainly try the printer paper trick.

Ha, you're welcome! :)
Google Assistant in the XGIMI remote makes it easier to use their projectors, especially for someone like me who is not tech-savvy.
Cool trick, I have to focus mine at the projector itself from 7 metres (25ish feet) away. So I also use a pair of binoculars lol.
Heh, two comments about the binoculars trick. Neat idea!

Nice!
I've been pulling my hair out all weekend Trying to get the focus right I'm trying this 1st chance I get.
Sweet! Let me know how it goes.
@@Techthusiasm I did the focus and the panel alignment. So much better. Way easier.
Nice!
Hi Jeremy,
Love watching your videos.
Just curious if you can recommend couple of projector mounts that are using for your Epson and JVC projectors?

@@Techthusiasm awesome thank you sir.
I just invite a friend over and he does it for me. Simple trick
Nice!
So looks like this is useful for AT screens or screens that are not very smooth like Silver ticket or similar lower end screens.
Correct, it’s best for screens like that so the screen isn’t impacting your ability to tune the sharpness.
Hello please can you assist me with my projector project?

No settings or remote with mine.
How do you mean "no settings or remote"?

Too many talking just BS
Well, thanks for that constructive feedback. :) I have really tried to improve my videos to make them tighter, shorter, quicker to and on point.

Good point. I updated it to be "Make Your Home Theater Projector Look Better | Focus Trick for Textured Screens". Is this more to your liking?
do you zoom your projector all the way to make it brighter ?
