We already had a programable shortcut button... The power button has always been possible to double tap to use as your own shortcut to various functions or apps.. Atleast since the Gear S3 days.. So this is just an added button dedicated for the same thing.
With that titanium build, it should be good to go. I’ve accidentally bumped it against walls and doors a few times, and there’s not a single mark on it.
Hey Sal, have you heard about Samsung repairability and how IFixit ended their deal with Samsung because they made everything so expensive due to gluing and not providing individual parts. I’m currently disappointed with that, it seems the current CEO of the mobile division doesn’t have the same vision as the old one. So I’m not too sure the new wearables are going to go through the same.
Yeah, I was bummed about that too. But I heard the bigwigs at Samsung are pissed with the mobile head and his choices lately. They're not happy that the products are looking too much like Apple's. So, there's a chance we might see the old Samsung back in action soon.
I heard about that and it is unfortunate because Best Buy was the closet service provider for people in the U.S. I think Sal needs to make a video about it because that is a problem.
I was just one click away to order this but then I thought I will wait for next year's edition. My intuition says next year's edition will be much better than this and who knows if that will come with rotating bezels too..😉
Agreed, if true. I'm a big WeChat user and enjoyed seeing messages on my old Tizen based watch. Let's cut to the chase here.... how much cash has to be exchanged between vendors to give customers what they want?
@antonstayduhar8748 is the one thing I looked forward to, even skipped reviews on watch6 classic, so it would be a brand new experience, turned out 525ish bucks and it still utilize UA-cam, fb, Twitter apps in 2024 smh
I have an Apple Ultra 2 and now a Samsung Ultra for 3 weeks. Everyone has their own, but I still prefer samsung ultra. My battery doing 2 days and 8 hours like Ultra 2. I have both apple watch and samsung watch classic 6 but ultra is heaven and earth difference in quality, appearance first
I'm a fan of the band. Much more comfortable than the watch 6 classic band. Not to mention much more durable. Also, people need to stop making a big deal about the rotating bezel. It's not practical especially when you can just use the display to navigate between slides. With the watch 6 classic the rotating bezel was always getting stuck because sweat and gunk would build up in it making it difficult to rotate to where I would just use the screen. No one ever mentions this. People like me will be using this watch all day in blue collar conditions but most reviewers are probably just using it in the office 🤷
Yeah it's a big deal when you don't want to touch the screen your finger gets in the way of your view of your working out and sweating it's easier to navigate with it. The rotating bezel is one of the reasons people but Samsung watches to make it your thing that ppl flock to then to take it away is sin. If you don't like it that's fine but to tell ppl they making a big fuss over it is a pretty shallow and narrow minded statement
@@AndrewSmith7 most people gravitate towards whatever apple does. A small minority of people will cry about this rotating bezel. You're among the unicorns who care about this issue. Or, for several hundred pounds less, you could upgrade to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, which has a rotating bezel and reverse charging! I like the idea of the action button, but would prefer if it was just silver rather than tictac orange.
Is the double-tap feature part of the accessibility? If I'm not wrong, its there in the previous watches, but when you turn it on, it has that ugly bright squares on the UI elements. I notice the Ultra doesnt have. Is it any different here?
In terms of features and processor, this is the best and most advanced smartwatch on the market. It has a 3nm processor. These things really arent discussed enough.
The main reason I'm reluctant to purchase this watch is the battery life. If I wanted to extend the battery life, it means having to turn apps off. If I'm paying good money for this watch, then I should be able to use all its features without concern of battery being drained, requiring recharge after 1-2 days use.
4 or 5 days? I have one. I can get 2 full days on battery saver. Overall, I like it, but after owning one I would probably have opted for the regular 7. It is much snappier and smoother than the 6. I miss the rotating bezel though.
Idk why they even released the watch without the bands to support it. All the sizes were M/L which is too big for a lot of good folks. Thank God I was able to get the free trail band that came with it because it's a S/M and fits and feels great. Hopefully the S/M sizes become available soon.
The stock marine band is actually imprinted on the band as "S/M/L" which contrasts with the "M/L" shown on the website. I can't speak definitively as to which is correct but had a friend try it on her very small wrist and it fit well.
I just got my watch ultra I titanium silver with the orange band and orange sliver accents and I love it , I charge it with my qi charger and it's quite good , I am happy with the wrist band and it fits perfectly on my wrist
I have had the galaxy watch 1 and am still wearing the galaxy watch 3. Neither of these two watches could count flights of stairs properly. Did they correct that problem with this new Galaxy Watch Ultra?
When opening certain apps on phone and using them, my watch vibrates once, then 3 more times about 10 sec later. It sporadically did it. Thoughts? All notifications to these apps are off.
@@jamesm568 meh... I'm a licensed counselor working primarily with somatic interventions & a yoga instructor & I use them. The vast majority of my clients are addressing physical & mental health concerns. I don't recommend that anyone pay Apple Tax. The workouts in Samsung's health app are free, whereas Apple charges a subscription fee to access the same option. The watch has more sensors than the Apple Watch Ultra 2 & finally has dual GPS tracking, which the Apple Watch Ultra has had for 2 generations. The only advantage Apple has in the area of health tracking software & that lead is dwindling every year. Apple doesn't have a ring option & Oura has had a subscription fee for its service as of Jan. 2024.
There's quite a few exist already. You don't have to hope. If you wear both at the same time, not only do you get more accurate readings, but you get better battery life from both, because the algorithms leverage all the sensors. It's pretty sick.

Im struggling with my battery life. I only just about get 2 days max. Usually end up in powersaving mode by the 2nd evening 🫤 i dont have always on display on, no LTE Sim installed, every else set to standard. I have come from a 5 pro so i knew it wouldnt last as long as that but honestly thought it would be better. As for the rest of the watch, love the way it looks, not a fan of the available straps and think the orange button is pointless as i dont need to access sports (they auto track) and the other few limited options arent that useful either. They need to add the ability to open any app with it imo. All on all I'm still happy with it but i do think the proce is a bit high for the limited extra features over the standard 7
I like mine. As a diabetic, I can use many of the standard watchfaces to see my blood sugar in a complication and not have to have the ugly blood sugar only watch face. I have not been able to figure out the bezel. I can scroll like I see people on UA-cam. The watch is comfortable. The GPS gives totally different results than the Watch 6. I compare it to my buddy's Garmin bike GPS unit. Watch 6 was recording less distance than his (very old) garmin and the Ultra show more distance when we ride the same trail. I think it was worth it (Of course I traded my 6 so I did not pay that much)
The sad thing about it, is the new regulations implemented with the seven, and the ultra, is that it means that the popular facer app, a place I have made hudreds of faces, is no longer compatable. for that reason, I'm not at all keen to buy it.
honestly its just too ugly and not enough features over the regular watch 7 for me to even consider this. I'll stick with the 5pro till they make an attractive offering.
I don't understand why people don't like that it can't powershare charge. Yeah, when the watch only lasts like 40-48 hours then powershare can be a lifesaver. But this watch has like a 3 day battery. You telling me someone can't find 1 hour in 3 days to charge the watch? At that point, if you're out & about with a dying watch that's kinda your fault. But hey, that's still a nifty work-around. Sure, it sucks to carry a charger around. But that's why you should always carry a bag with you. I've got backup chargers in my bag along with other "just in case" items.
Battery life and performance are great welcome changes, but I don't understand the logic of removing reverse wireless charging and rotating bezel. I get it is for big sensor but correct me if I'm wrong that watch ultra use the same charger as with other watch such watch 7 and so on which support reserve charging and it is underrated feature. I have many instance where I forgot to charge my watch and I had my phone help to topup my watch and didn't have carried another cable or charger with me. As well rotation bezel which was reason to consider upgarde to watch 6 classic but battery life is not great on that thing and same chip too. So I didn't went for watch 6 classic. New health features are great but I use my watch as just reference for my health on daily basis. Smart watches aren't most accurate or scientific way to track our health. That is not possible right now and I think most of us understand that but we welcome these features to improve our regulatory process of maintaining our health. Design is subjective as per person but I still prefer the round design. I know they did square for big batteries. See in person has changed my opinion either. I'm not saying they copied apple or anything other brand. Let's face it, everybody copied each other and this isn't a new thing either. I am still not sure about updating from watch 5 pro to this. Watch 5 pro is almost perfect, but lack of rotation bezel and performance are some downside. I am so disappointed as I was hoping watch ultra will be true successor for watch 5 pro. But now, I am leaning more on to sticking with watch 5 pro and lets see what samsung do next year. Hoping for better.
My Garmin Fenix not only looks better but holds a charge for 15 days even with an always on display. Bragging about 2 days of charge is setting the bar very low. Every second your watch isn’t in your wrist for any reason including charging is loss of metrics leading to a completely invalid report. These have a long way to go before they become a real tool other than a pretty piece of plastic.
Depends on what you want, around town or traveling , these phones do a lot more than Garmins which are essentially just fitness trackers. They are not true smartwatches. If you can’t leave your phone at home and use your watch instead, then you don’t have a smartwatch. And yes I have a Garmin Fenix 6 Solar as well.
I have watched dozens of reviews. You were the first person to say that the band was a disaster. Every other single reviewer loved the Marine Band. Not everybody loves the trail band and very few people even got the peak band but they love that Marine Band so I would tell anybody who wants to get it from their order to grab the Marine Band.
I hated the marine band as it's cumbersome if you like to remove your watch from your wrist often. I actually went with a third party watch band and got a magnetic band. It's a shame Samsung didn't offer the d-buckle band
AGEs is quite accurate. It’s about your metabolic health. You want it more towards the low green marker than towards the red. My watch is showing AGEs right in the middle of this line from the second day of wearing it. It’s not going to move up or down anytime soon as this is influenced by my diet and lifestyle over the years. If you are not convinced, then try reinstalling your watch, and increasing your age by 20 years in your profile. Now your watch will know you as 20 years + age whereas the watch sensors will read your body younger body and in a couple days your AGEs will be very close to the low green marker as the watch will assume you are ageing slow.
If they didn't include the ability to power share why the hell would they not make it fast charging? I bought it anyways, I'll probably just upgrade when and if the next one is better.
I thought pictures of it were ugly, but when I saw it in the metal...wow!

Hey Sal, what's your opinion on the pixel 9 lineup and the new fold from them?
Yes, the lineup is looking sick so far. I just hope everything works perfectly from the start and the phone delivers what it promises.
Who uses the stock band on any watch? I do not care what the stock band looks like on any watch.
The watch 5 pro stock band was amazing
Why do reviewers keep saying the finger pinch feature is new? Dude... I've been using that on the Watch 5 Pro and on the Watch 6 Classic. What's crazy is that I believe I learned that from THIS very channel. So far, every reviewer says it's new... THE PINCH FEATURE IS NOT NEW!!!
You're totally right! I almost forgot about that.
i love mine but hey the charging wireless works on the samsung charging bed.
@giovannibucio as a little experiment this last week. I plugged the watch charger into my phone. While the phone was on wireless charging. I did find, that while both were charging. The phone ultimately was still loosing charge. And that's from Samsungs triple charger. But as said was just a test.
@@richardstevens3625 i use the bed charger, its comes with one side to wireless charge ur phone and the right side to charge any watch except apple also u can charge ur ear pods. i use a 65w power brick maybe thats why it works?
I have a Samsung wireless portable charger and it works on that.
Hey Sal,
I've been using this watch for 10 days now. Preordered it. I agree with all your points. I'm really not happy with the watch bands. For me coming from watch 4, battery life is a winner. I do not have to charge it everyday! And yes it looks damn good in metal than in photos and videos. Love from India❤
Congrats on your new purchase! Thanks for tuning in! :)
Are certain health features limited to those with Galaxy phone still? That's my one hangup from upgrading from my galaxy 5 pro. I'd really like access to all of the features while I have my pixel phone.
I don't understand how you can not like the stock marine band. What's not to like?
It’s uncomfortable, I wore it for like a day and had to replace it. Especially since you have to wear the GW7U tighter due to its inaccuracy.
@@superiortoall22 as a light watch you can wear it a little loose and it won't move around. The trail band is a little elastic you could try that.
I was actually suprised how good the stock band is.
We already had a programable shortcut button... The power button has always been possible to double tap to use as your own shortcut to various functions or apps..
Atleast since the Gear S3 days..
So this is just an added button dedicated for the same thing.
I am a mechanic, and I've been wearing a Galaxy Frontier s3 for years, and it takes all the punishment. How would this watch hold up compared to it?
@@TechTalkTV I hope they do get back to the Samsung that released and innovated the S21 Ultra.
They will definitely bring back the rotating bezel on the Watch 2 ulta, I'm certain on this one
I was just one click away to order this but then I thought I will wait for next year's edition. My intuition says next year's edition will be much better than this and who knows if that will come with rotating bezels too..😉
Hey, i wear socks with sandals. 😂
Get well soon, mate 😅
It's not as weird as you think. I wear them too and I feel pretty comfortable.
@@TechTalkTV Its all good Saal, still love your content.
When will the update come to the other Samsung galaxy watches
Hi, how are you?
Does it have dive mode and Freedive like Huawei Ultimate and Iphone ultra?
No, it doesn’t! It has a swim mode, but no dive mode.
@@TechTalkTV So it´s a fake Ultra watch :)
Still can't use social media on it, which is ridiculous for the price tag
You don't seem to like this reality I'm stating. Can't help you there.
Samsung made the right decision here. The rotating feature is still there. Which means you clearly haven't used the galaxy watch 6 classic
Watch 5 pro does not have a rotating bezel. Only a touch screen bezel
@@shaf1485h I meant the watch 6 classic, my mistake.
3 weeks! Thats a lot of recharging.. 15 times?
Every company has some kind of ultra watch
I know I'm alone in this, but I still think the watch that Nothing Company offers is more than enough. BUT thank you Sal, for this review to let us know with honesty what to expect. That's why I love your videos.
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it
Please let me know where you got the watch face from? Thank you!
Search sumo face on play store
Or, for several hundred pounds less, you could upgrade to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, which has a rotating bezel and reverse charging!
I like the idea of the action button, but would prefer if it was just silver rather than tictac orange.
And the same sensor accuracy, as confirmed by the Quantified Scientist.
I have the 4 classic LTE. Can't decide about the color with ultra. Between the titanium silver or white
The issue is that it’s just too slow. Once you’ve experienced a snappy smartwatch like this, going back to the older ones feels impossible.
These things really arent discussed enough.
it's a shame Samsung didn't go the OnePlus route with an MCU running an RTOS. battery life could've been incredible with that approach
Hmm... sounds like a 'wait for the next version' device review to me.
Where did you get that strap? Looks great
It's a peak form band from Samsung
Where you buy the watch strap and what is the name of the brand strap . Thanks
Peak form from Samsung
I like these stripes, from where did you buy them
From Samsung
The all white ultra made me get it and I honestly don't have any regrets..
Where can I get that watch face?
sir may i know the strap you are using for this watch ultra, I would like to purchase it please share link sir
It's called Peakform band from Samsung
I wonder if they will ever have a version that is just wifi instead of LTE? That would knock a good chunk of money off that price tag.
I just got my watch ultra I titanium silver with the orange band and orange sliver accents and I love it , I charge it with my qi charger and it's quite good , I am happy with the wrist band and it fits perfectly on my wrist
Sounds great!
Which country made the Samsung Galaxy Watch ultra 7 that provides full health and fitness features?
I have had the galaxy watch 1 and am still wearing the galaxy watch 3. Neither of these two watches could count flights of stairs properly. Did they correct that problem with this new Galaxy Watch Ultra?
When opening certain apps on phone and using them, my watch vibrates once, then 3 more times about 10 sec later. It sporadically did it. Thoughts? All notifications to these apps are off.
I don't know how you get this battery time?! I get about 20 hrs max, with always on screen at about 25% brightness.
Hopefully, Samsung will work on synergies between the watch & the ring to make health measurements even more accurate & useful.
You have to remember professional health care and fitness specialists don't recommend Samsung watches anyway nor use them.
@@jamesm568Professional health care specialists don't recommend any wearables or smartwatches.
Every smartwatch on the market warns you it's not a diagnostic tool and it's readings shouldn't be used to make medical decisions.
Not sure what your point is.
Which band are you using..???
Peakform from Samsung
Hey Sal, can you name the music that comes up at @03:34 which you uses in most of your videos.
Another great video, thank for all the hardwork as always. Very much appreciated
Is the, "i was wrong" thing a meme?
You mean it’s like that awful haircut that gets people who never comment actually commenting positive remarks about it because it’s such a shocker and they feel the need to be polite
I bought thw orange ultra cause the face is gray I don't like the titanium silver but I like how the clock lines aren't orange the white one would get so dirty in my life so I bought the gray and orange watch I will be trying to get used to all this orange hahaha great video man
Yeah, I agree! I think an orange accent on the bezel would look awesome with the silver color too
Samsung needs to make a high-end watch with a style fitting for non-athletes and 45mm max.
A bulky watch with bright colors is hard to fit into the usual outfits
How did you get the blood pressure? Where u located? I'm US WE DON'T HAVE IT
Yeah unfortunately the FDA hasn't approved it.
FDA didn't approve it in the US yet. If you want you can enable it via third party. Here's a tutorial ua-cam.com/video/iyJ1WEyzdKk/v-deo.html&pp=ygUjaG93IHRvIGVuYWJsZSBicCBnYWxheHkgd2F0Y2ggdWx0cmE%3D
I think it was worth it (Of course I traded my 6 so I did not pay that much)
Now, if sammy gets rid of the brick in the room, phones, and adds more to their watch division, all would be great.
Can you do an update on what's going on with the shipping of the Buds 3 Pro?
They're still supposed to drop on August 28th in the US. I made a video explaining the whole issue here.ua-cam.com/video/8bV8DlrB7Ss/v-deo.html
How u get that facer profile
The sad thing about it, is the new regulations implemented with the seven, and the ultra, is that it means that the popular facer app, a place I have made hudreds of faces, is no longer compatable. for that reason, I'm not at all keen to buy it.
honestly its just too ugly and not enough features over the regular watch 7 for me to even consider this. I'll stick with the 5pro till they make an attractive offering.
Watch band u use?
Peakform band from Samsung
Bro i also have the galaxy watch ultra and my AGE Index is exactly at the same spot as you showed. Coincidence?
Interestingly, I've noticed many people have it in the exact same spot. It's weird!
Ya. That's what DC Rainmaker said in his review also. 🤔
Yeah, It's only inconvenient if you forget the charger while traveling.
Where did you get that watch face Sal
It's called Sumo info. It's available on play store
The bands are one of the big highlights of watch lol
I bought this watch and i totally agree with this video but unfortunately i cannot measure blood pressure in the us
That's a bummer
Can you pay with the watch ?
Yes, you can!
When it comes to watches, I'm all about those classic styles. That marine band has way too many holes, man.
Great review and explanation as always mate! ;)
Thank you :)
Design is good but round display doesn't suit. It should be little bit like the watch Design
Nice review Sal
Glad you liked it!
Sigh, bring back the classic.
And make easier accessible compass app, develop a weather radar app that i can swipe right to.
? adding an incorrect age would defeat the purpose no?
I'm not a big fan of the new design but can't deny it has great features. I prefer the 6 classic its more elegant and looks like a regular watch
This watch is nothing like apple watch and its way better and i have this watch and love it
Well its not really better , but its alright .
Excelente Review Crack. 👏👏💪💪🤩🤩⌚️⌚️⌚️⌚️
Thanks! 👍
If they didn't include the ability to power share why the hell would they not make it fast charging? I bought it anyways, I'll probably just upgrade when and if the next one is better.
Did you actually wear a 47mm watch to sleep? Was it comfortable?
I didn’t have any issues wearing it to bed.
