    Thanks for uploading this. I like looking at old gas and oil items and signs. I wish that the people selling these things had prices on them.

    I like the signs 🛑. I like the walk around and drive by, especially at the end. The 1956 or so GMC pickup on the trailer during the drive-by segment caught my eye. I like that meaty Groot look of the GMC grill and bumpers of that year. Think about it with the GMC letters in the hood not just on the hood. A lawn mower are to pass through that was ahead of its time.

      I must admit that GMC front end is very stout looking!!! I think it’s a hoot that you have come around to appreciate the signs , cans, and pumps since watching my videos. You have included some nice examples of old stations, signs, and pumps on your channel CarOldDiscover mixed in with old car and truck finds lately! I have been watching and enjoying your channel and I recommend others to check it out. After all what good is a car if you can’t fill it up with petro? Yeah the drive by was a bit of a lazy approach but by that time of the day I was exhausted from selling . Thanks for visiting today. GPR ⛽️⛽️⛽️

      @@gaspumprob yes I didn't catch with that was you driving or your friend driving. Somewhere I missed that. But drive-by videos flow smoother than if you're walking so it does have its beneficial points. But like that last one or maybe two back abandoned gas stations. The one they made into a tire store. The restroom was still on the outside towards the back of the building on the one side. And when I open it up man it was like I was 5 years old again stepping into an old gas station. Except for it was a little bit bigger so he was storing some chrome rims in there they were actually chrome. So I did not get the bathrooms and the video on the drive-by and I think that would have helped immensely. But this place is so busy when it's open. When it's closed they got chains across the door. Rather sad give him the size of a little town

    I thought that rocker can for $100 was an excellent price. But that's only because some guy named gas pump ⛽ you got me hooked on this kind of stuff. So instead of just looking at cars now I'm looking at signs gas cans oil and a more variety of items.. thank you! 👍

    • @gaspumprob
      @gaspumprob  6 місяців тому +2

      I was very surprised that man did not purchase that rocker can at $100.00 Someone probably spent several hours stripping it down to bare metal and priming it getting it ready for paint. It sold later at Pomona to Big D the star in my previous videos haha . He knew the value of an embossed rocker can in fantastic condition.

      @@gaspumprob I've seen people asking 2 to 4 times at for one with its natural character already still beat up. So for $100 for one ready to paint 🎨.... Honestly if I wouldn't halfway across the country I would have bought it. Because I find these cans very interesting. I used to haul gas cans 5 gallon gas cans for equipment and they were not the rocker cans. And even today I'm thinking so many years later how much nicer could have been to set that down and dump it out that away just by tilt in it. Yes I have to hold the whole 5 gallon can of gas and dumping it in. When you do that 30 times a day or more...... After climbing up on top of a piece of machinery that's five times as tall as you are. Anything would be helpful. In some ways I've got a very soft life compared to then. But you know I kind of miss those days

      I was shocked he set it down. It was a bargain price. I priced it low because I wanted it to sell fast. I agree they are a smart design compared to regular five gallon cans. What you did fueling up that equipment is very difficult. I have also lifted and filled equipment like that in the past. Very heavy and awkward to pour especially the first gallon out.

      @@gaspumprob after a while I was able to just toss those cans and I take four five gallon cans up with me full of time. I could just hand them like they were nothing but it took awhile to get to that point. Unfortunately I have regressed greatly from that point. 🤕 Summit tractors were tall. But that was a drill rig. We used to drill water wells. I'd have to climb up above the cab of the truck. The fuel tank to run the drill rig with above the tank. I'd say it was 10 ft up. Did not use a ladder. I just climbed up on the truck or the drill rig itself in order to get up and put the fuel ⛽ in

    Just think the story behind every one of these signs and other memorabilia. From the time it was made. 28 first useful life as advertisement or product. Then when it was put away lost misplaced whatever happened to it. Then of course the rediscovery of this individual item. Then it's put on display for sale at this event. Multiplying that by every item there and across the country at similar shows.

      That Michelin tire man with his arms up and hands actually hold a tire on display. These were used in tire shop showrooms often. I also like these . That one was not mine and it looked like it was priced at $200.00 when I inquired about buying it he said no it’s not $200.00 it’s $2000.00 ! Well that shocked me and I simply said ok thank you and kept walking.
