Cathay Pacific will always be a sentimental favourite of mine, but it's about time they updated their business and first class products to catch up with the competition from the likes of Singapore Airlines or the middle-eastern airlines. Great review the way - I love that you showcased the different lounges at HK airport, which to this day remains my favourite airport.
Thank you! And likewise, they do have some catching up to do. The Aria Suite can't come fast enough! HKG is always a pleasure to travel through, looking forward to the refreshed lounges coming in the next few years.
You can’t say it’s great - I can easily judge an airline just by the desert they serve. Ice cream is the worse because it involves 0 efforts, and Cathay somehow just loves that! The true premium airlines like Singapore Airlines serve ice cream too but as part of the desert collection, often with additional stuff like chocolate sauce etc, and they serve it in a fine bone china bowl instead of in the original 0 effort cheap packaging like Cathay does! I would only fly Cathay Business on redemption. My own money always goes only to the real premium ones.
I agree it is rather simple to serve the tubs as they are, I'm used to the likes of QR plating it up nicely with berries and whatnot. But for a regional sector like this, I'd still say the service was rather impressive considering the options and the dessert trolley, which is a nice touch. Much better than most other ASEAN carriers, however, yes SQ is in a league of its own.
CX offered an additional choice of dessert (served in a glass) last winter but the response was underwhelming. Very few pax actually selected those so after the trial it is cut back to ice cream only. CX passengers just love their Haagen Dazs!
Your presentation is highly interesting to watch. Thank you very much
Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated!
Always nice to fly with CX ❤

Fantastic vlog! I especially enjoyed the info on the different lounges. I can't wait to try their business class product next year on my trip to Japan

Very nice! I definitely enjoyed the lounge tour, hopefully I reach Sapphire before New Year's Eve and be able to access that lounge in 2025.

this is a short haul flight dude, there is no time for crew to do any plating. SQ serves the same quality of food I am afraid.
