    As a classical music lover, I never though I would want an Electric Guitar... But that has changed! You really show why an Electric guitar is extremely beautiful, and an instrument to be respected/appreciated

    That's a great track - brilliantly improvised and played. It's amazing how well baroque style fits heavy metal. Love it!

    That is "Madness" a fantastic baroque madness...!

    • @t.f.5265
      @t.f.5265 5 років тому +2

      @paul w Very interesting. I haven't received any notification about your comment. By the way...
      I'm very sorry, but No, you are completely wrong.
      This is a "Baroque madness" because It is a Vivaldi's version. And, I dont' know if you know it, Vivaldi was a baroque composer. It is like saying that The Orson Welles's version of "Caesar" for the stage was a Renaissance piece. Absolutely meaningless.

    • @umegghju

      Tiziana, la folia è un ballo iberico, uno dei più antichi temi giunti a noi. In Italia prese la doppia L ma non è un errore scriverla alla maniera originale portoghese (o spagnola, non si sa). L'hanno ripresa in tantissimi, oltre a vivaldi e Corelli, anche Beethoven e Rachmaninoff...

    • @t.f.5265
      @t.f.5265 5 років тому

      @@umegghjuSo perfettamente qual'è l'origine della "Follia". Google lo so usare anch'io.
      La versione è quella di Vivaldi.
      Vivaldi, Le segnalo, era italiano, dunque vanno seguite le regole della lingua italiana. Non spagnola, non portoghese nè russa.
      Al netto di tutti i puntini sospensivi del mondo.
      Lei é tuttavia libero di pensarla come meglio crede. Buona giornata.

    • @umegghju

      Non scrivo per essere offensivo; solo precisare che entrambe le varianti sono giuste.
      Sai certamente che Chopin scrisse una "tarantelle" (al singolare)... invece di "tarantella", e secondo il tuo ragionamento la dovremmo pronunciare così. Io la chiamo tarantella anche se l'ha chiamata in francese (in polacco sarebbe "tarantela") .
      Chopin componeva un mazurek (maschile), noi la chiamano mazurka (femminile).
      Questa libertà di ortografia ci permette di evitare vari errori. Poi sarebbe bello se tutti pronunciassero come nella lingua d'origine, solo poco fattibile (le gige di Bach, ecc).
      Tutto ciò scritto senza scopo di offesa... Sono qui per scambiare opinioni, non litigare.

      @@umegghju (di chi o cosa, poi? 🤔 )
      Riveli chiaramente il carattere esposto nel tuo nome.
      Ti trovo inultilmente "pillicusu".
      Chiamala come ti pare.
      Io difendo il diritto di vedere rispettata la mia lingua di fronte agli anglosassoni che spessissimo sbagliano l'ortografia dei musicisti, attori o personaggi italiani anche se alzano immediatamente il sopracciglio ed hanno il sorrisetto beffardo se non conosci tutti i 12 modi di pronunciare il dittongo "gh" in inglese. ( cosa che ovviamente tu saprai fare 😉)
      Quindi ribadisco il mio PERSONALE punto di vista: l'ha arrangiata Vivaldi dunque si pronuncia "La Follia".
      Ad Maiora.

    Hey Dan, just stumbled over your version - outstanding. Usually I am very sceptical of attempted marriages between classical and modern music, but your arrangement of La Folia is among the few that truly shine. (I guess you know Jethro Tull's Bouree?)
    Question: Why did you base it on Corelli's version, rather than Vivaldi's? The latter seems to lend itself more easily to a Metal version - in fact, on could argue that it is Metal already in it's original score!
    Cheers, G.

    Dan, one more question: How and with whom did you do the other instrument tracks? All yourself, or are there some fellow musicians? I would soooo love to see a version with the whole band!
    I kind of keep imagining Dave Grohl on the drums, and you could throw in Ian Anderson for some crazy flute duel with your guitar...;)

    ..and now for the Chaconne by JS Bach or some Paganini?
    Why not on a classical guitar for the Chaconne like Segovia, Williams or Julian Bream?
    Somewhat sterile on an electric guitar? All these super fast runs with that shrill monotonous tone. 🤔

      Maybe. La Folia is an old Portuguese folk dance theme, and many baroque composers made "modern" variations of it like Corelli and Vivaldi. Vivaldi's version is flashy and slightly more complex, afaik.
