Bundesliga again after being promoted, it just is really sad to see. Especially when you see the Players that come from their Youth Development. Rakitic, Sane, Neuer, Draxler, Matip. Or the great time we had with Raul joining the Team. I miss the times where Schalke was a real threat to the Bundesliga and even some european teams.

I know that this comment was 3 weeks ago but with zero responses, I figured I'd throw some things out that I've learned from being in this position myself quite a lot. FM places a lot of importance on your defensive midfielder. Having a half back is probably the best one, followed by Anchor then defensive midfielder. You should only really use a deep lying playmaker on defense if you're significantly better than everyone around you. This is specifically in a 4-3-3. Remember that your wingers don't really contribute to the defense, especially not if you set them to attack. If they're on inside forward, it's even worse as they're central, not wide. Because of this, you need your wide defenders doing much more work - make sure they're not set to attack if your wingers are on attack - support at the most. For your 2 further forward midfielders, make sure their roles actually complement each other. Box to box with ball winning midfielder is good. Box to box with mezzala is bad. You need to think about what your team will do when the defensive phase starts i.e. the moment you lose the ball. Where are your players likely to be? B2B midfielder is likely high up the pitch, and mezzala is too. BWM is more likely sitting a bit deeper and will add surety to your defensive play. Final point - it sounds like you've potentially ripped apart the entire team and put in a new one. It takes time, just like in real life, for players to play well together. Any non-english speakers need to learn the language. Players need to play together to build good relationships. It takes time. Maybe you stay in the Championship for a season, but that's okay. Remember, your favourite UA-camrs are elite players who've spent thousands of hours in these games and understand them on a level that you never will. That means that it might take you three times longer to achieve what they do. You need to be okay with that idea.

I think like it could be nicer, if you built a team with more unobvious signings and so on. But that's just my point ^^
