Youve given me great insperation. Your directions are so easy to follow. We speak the same language! Lol gonna make bucket bags for Christmas.
This is great, I was looking for a project for today. This is it. I'll probably insert a zippered welt pocket in the lining fabric before I start. Thanks for all your tuition
I made this purse it. It turned out so cute. Ty so much. I used a magnetic snap instead of sew on snap. I’ve had them in my craft stash for years never thinking I would use them. I also HATE hand sewing.
Hi, this is sensational. Thx!!! Humble correction: the fusible fleece dimensions should be 41” x 9.5” to cover both outside and lining. Adore your channel and ideas!

@@TheSewingChannel yes we would like to see one that has a few dividers just to keep it simple because we could also put it in a zippered pocket. Hello, Love the simplicity of this and if I'm understanding-the 7 inches from the center of the bag will actually be the depth of it. By using 2 different fabrics we can actually start with longer than 40-40 inches so we can have a deeper bag? Example if I wanted to do a 9 inch deep bag I can add approximately 4 inches. Same with if I wanted flap longer I can increase length for that also. Going to experiment-thank you for the inspiration!❤

Last Saturday they started talking about it and I just put my name on the list I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it but they are going to start narrowing down the cost. I am using a directional print for my outer layer. Is the first seam at the bottom or at the top of the bag?? UPDATE: it doesn't matter about the seam. Directional fabric will not work for this because either the front and the flap or the back will be upside down. Bother! I'll use this excellent method for a different, non-directional fabric another time.
@@TheSewingChannel I figured it out! I cut the directional fabric into 3 pieces: 1 for the flap, 1 for the front, and 1 for the back. I then connected the lining piece and proceeded as directed in the rest of the video. It worked like a charm. You would probably need to purchase by the yard and cut lengthwise instead of across like a fat quarter. It will take a little extra planning, but it can be done. (If I'm understanding your landscape is a directional pattern)
I’m confused a little, you only use 1 piece of fusible fleecing 20.5 x 9.5. It looks like it covers length of lining and outside fabric- no biggie. The tutorial is great and I love the cross body bag. I’ve already made one and I’m making more. I absolutely enjoy this channel.
I've watched both videos for this bag and I still don't get how the front part under the flap gets straight across. What am I missing? I would love to try this in a soft vinyl. I think I could leave out the fleece for vinyl.
The "flap".....starts as both ends of the long part of fabric. I hope that helps. Try a mock up following video instruction so you can have a visual of how it all works❤️
I am confused. You say one Fusible Fleece 20.50" x 9.5". Yet, you show one piece of fleece that may be 41". Help! I see so many wonderful comments. Am I seeing something wrong?
It's a mistake...you are right...the fleece should be the same as the fabric. sorry....this video has been out awhile now and I never noticed that....so sorry.
You made a mistake! On the first page with the “items needed”, you say 1 piece of fusible fleece, and that does not cover the 2 pieces of fabric! Was all set to make this on a retreat, but don’t have the right amount of fusible fleece!

@@TheSewingChannel great, thanks!
Written instruction would help.
You made a mistake! On the first page with the “items needed”, you say 1 piece of fusible fleece, and that does not cover the 2 pieces of fabric! Was all set to make this on a retreat, but don’t have the right amount of fusible fleece!
Why the gloves?
Great question. When free motion quilting....the fabric need to flow "freely"and continuously...the gloves allow for a better grip✅
Oh, okay.
I hate handwork as well.
I know it...not sure why....LOL😆
