Hey, you're giving away some of our favorite shots! We often play a drop shot game. Great fun to see our progress. Sometimes I'll drop shot a serve if I see the returner behind the baseline. If I can finesse it to bounce within 15' of the net, it provokes a weak return. And some laughing and cussing! Cheers!
Thanks Ryan, could you please talk about the contact point. S How far should it be in front of you and the height at which you need to contact for a good drop shot
So much amazing regular content! I learn something every time. Thanks so much, really been loving your content for the last year. And it's mostly stuff I wouldn't find elsewhere. Cheers!
Nice! I liked the mention of a "tiny bit of backspin" toward the end of the video. Too much bounce and you're giving your opponent extra time to get to the ball.
Drop shot is my worst shot by far. Nice to see some advice, I can't get enough of that. And thankfully I always play on clay, as it is the only surface to be found in Germany. Slows down the opponent AND the ball. But still my drop shots suck.
Sorry this video was made over two years ago and I don’t use the slinger bag anymore so I have no idea what the settings were. I’m sure it was low speed.
Hi Ryan, thanks for making the videos. Tips you mention are good ones, but In my opinion your shot execution and technique are completely off. Ball is going to high, with very low back-spin. You need to change the grip and go more under the ball, without so high contact point.
I'd have to disagree with the shots in the video. It might work against beginner opponents, but any advanced recreational player would be able to run the ball down. Your balls are bouncing too high and too close to the service line IMHO.
Nice drop volleys! I was impressed with how much safety you created with a still fairly high arc (peaking on your side) and a good landing into the opposite service box. Masterful.
The more the arm stays still, the better the dropshot. The more you move your arm the less your balance and therefore the sensitivity and accuracy. Ball control occurs with the advancement of the body and with the underspin generated by the wrist. The secret is to stay balanced
I would add another tip. Don't try to make dropshot as a winner. It can be only shot before last one. You will have less errors with that. Winner is only extra benefit.
I mentioned to put backspin on the ball. But Most rec players I see trying a Dropshot try to put WAAYYYYY too much backspin on the ball. Ans don’t say sorry. Happy to have the conversation.
Thank you coach Ryan, I have practice this today already.
@@สํานักอักษรรังสิต-คลองสาม hey great. Good luck!
Hey Ryan, would you mind adding your settings when you use the slinger for the drills in your videos? Can help to recreate on court. Thanks!
Just got a slinger!!! That would be so helpful!

Ooh, I like this! New season starts next Wednesday, definitely going to give this a try.
Thank you Coach Ryan,I will definitely go and practice this Today
Thanks Ryan, could you please talk about the contact point. S

Amazing Video! Do you think you could make one on aiming the ball? Maybe at the baseline corners and/or the service line.
So much amazing regular content! I learn something every time. Thanks so much, really been loving your content for the last year. And it's mostly stuff I wouldn't find elsewhere. Cheers!
It’s the new volley ! Thank you
I like it! Thanks for posting.
You got it. Appreciate the support.

What about reviewing the slinger bag? It would be great to hear your opinion.
Will def be doing that. Thanks!!
Thank you 🤩
Tip #4 if I may...follow your drop shot in to the net.
Yep you’re 100% right.
thanks Ryan
Can you make a video on how to play long two handed backhand shot which comes on the base line leaving players less time to react
Drop shot is my worst shot by far. Nice to see some advice, I can't get enough of that.

Ryan, you are awesome!! Thank you sooo much for helping me with tennis. I’m progressing thanks to your amazing easy to understand tutorials. 🙏🏼🙏🏼♥️🎾🎾
hey could you give me the slinger setting used in this video, thanks
Sorry this video was made over two years ago and I don’t use the slinger bag anymore so I have no idea what the settings were. I’m sure it was low speed.
A fake backswing will definitely do a lot of good! And with the combination of a real swing shot it's a killing power
in tennis, everything seemes easy but even the drop shot is extremely complicated
Is that a drop shot or a soft Volley
Where is the slice
Alcaraz!
Nice, but practice disguise also. It is a must.

Why no back spin.?

Yes. It needed a spin for the drop shot; it was also a lot higher than a regular winning drop shot.
it's worth to mention what to do after you hit a dropshot.. i mean you do not freeze and wait for an applause
I'd have to disagree with the shots in the video. It might work against beginner opponents, but any advanced recreational player would be able to run the ball down. Your balls are bouncing too high and too close to the service line IMHO.
Ok thanks for watching and for your opinion.
😂😂 there should be minimal height
Hahaha "never" play a dropshot on high ball that comes that slow
Terrible
LOL

I need one of these robots, I have no friends 😢
Backspin is absolutely necessary sir, use same grip as slice backhand, not volley grip. Sorry
I mentioned to put backspin on the ball. But Most rec players I see trying a Dropshot try to put WAAYYYYY too much backspin on the ball. Ans don’t say sorry. Happy to have the conversation.
They are both continental grips
Hmmmm what grip is the slice backhand in? I thought it was in continental?
@@nancyhernandez2271that's what I thought. I was taught to play all shots other than forehand ground stroke with continental grip.
Excellent pc of advice: peak on my side of the court!!!
Where should you be aiming for the drop?
Maybe directly across the net so it has less time in the air and your opponent has less time to Sprint forward?
