The Seiko Willard is an enthusiasts icon and has a pretty cool history. So why not review it! I got my hands on the SPB151 and spoiler alert I absolutely love it!

Exactly! You know what you're looking at with this! Although I do think the Turtle is pretty close in shape.
I bought a Seiko 7002-7009 in 1991 when I joined the USArmy. It’s been around the world and back. I still works and I still wear it.
I've got this very watch. It's my favourite. Like you I tried it on a variety of straps but always ended up putting it back on the original bracelet. Great to see ladies wearing full size watches.
I have the green one after watching the movie and also bought the OEM bracelet for it which I actually think is not bad at all. It's one of my favorite watches. Tough as nails with excellent lume! Great review!

Nice vid and it’s so interesting that it’s also the only vid I’ve seen on the Seiko Willard done by a female.😊 I own the SLA063, which I picked out of many Willard variants I’ve checked and compared, including the one you have. My father wore an original 6105-8110 when he was a frogman in the Taiwanese Navy in the 1970s, then he passed it on to my older brother, so I’ve always wanted one and took an interest to these reissues. I’m very proud that I own #18 of this 500pcs limited edition😎
My favorite Seiko Diver of all time!! It sold me compared to the 6105 is that it has smaller case and screw down crown.. I get more complements on my spb151 than any other watch! The tropic strap is a match made in heaven.
Try a chocolate bar strap by uncleseiko.

I'm a guy and my wrist is only slightly bigger than yours. lmfao! But, you just answered my burning question! LOVE the Tattoo placement btw. I bet that was no picnic getting that done. (Ouch) I am really torn between this and the Doxa sub 200T! Thank you for a great breakdown of the watch. :)
It's such a deceptive case shape/size. Wears so much better than you expect it to! I adore them!
Ahhh thank you. Yes...a fair bit of pain but it was totally worth it! Art in another form!
Doxa is also a great brand but my personal preference would still be this thing! Hope you get a NWA soon!
@@TheWatchBoxDiaries Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated! I actually visited my local shopping centre a few days ago and I tried the Doxa 200T - 300T and the willard. And it was a VERY easy choice to make for me personally. The Willard was stunning in person and the Doxa surprisingly wasn’t for me.
The 300T case back protruded so much it was uncomfortable and didn’t sit well on my wrist. And the 200T just felt too small for a dive watch. The cases were to blingy for me as well. I am currently saving for the Willard. 👌🏼
I have many tattoos myself so can sympathise with you there. But it’s definitely worth it in the end lol

Looks awesome on the Uncle Seiko rubber straps. I’d highly recommend their Z199 bracelet, most comfortable option for me.

Honestly, I can’t afford a Seiko Willard, but I was able to get a Heimdallr Willard homage. The only noticeable difference is the pip is added on and the crystal is sapphire with AR-coating.

The 6105 is a classic. I’m not too fussed with the SPB151 but, the olive green dial and bezel on the SPB153 are absolutely gorgeous design options. Definitely a Watch to put on my shortlist.

Love my spb153. On the stock rubber strap, it’s very sporty and comfortable. On a NATO it’s just as comfortable but looks more toolish and casual. Can’t wait to get an Uncle Seiko Jubilee bracelet for it.
They are good stock rubber straps tbf. Hence why I'd have liked one for this! I think I've only ever gone with rubber straps so far but I'll try a nato. They tend to make a watch chunkier though!

I am torn, been looking forward to get my first automatic watch preferably a Seiko as it is readily available. The new GMTs with 6r54 movement and the willards are making this choice tough. I like them all 151, 153, 237, 301
Seiko is a really good start for getting into automatics! It's great that you can actually walk into a shop and buy one.
The fact you can do that means you can go and try as many of the ones you like as possible and that'll help you find the one that speaks to you!

12:00 markers are angled to distinguish them from the other markers in low light.
Hmmmm but they're double markers so surely that's enough? 🤔 Maybe they wanted to really make sure!
I like the green dial it gives that look of the jungle. The blue one looks very unique as well.
I think they've done really well with the colourways they have chosen.
Where can it be purchased in the black face rubber strap config?
I think the ISO cert dictates that the 12 o'clock marker should be different from the 3, 6, and 9 marker, and THEY should be different from the rest of the markers

This is my favourite dial so far I think. The grey textured is nice but I’m leaning towards black

@@TheWatchBoxDiaries absolutely, they make a watch look smaller. For example, an explorer 40 looks dramatically smaller than a silver op42 despite only being a mm smaller.

Barton Watch Bands! They do a lot of rubber straps in a huge array of colours..and they're good quality at reasonable prices!
I really like the case shape . If you have the dough get the Seiko in my opinion . I've the ss and the bronze Steel Dive and enjoy them just fine . I think you take it to a higher level though to be honest . Yeah , it never looked quite soo good to me . Maybe chicks in general will start wearing them now . I hope so .
Its definitely a recognisable shape! Bronze is such an interesting case material and very love-it-or-hate-it !

Oohhh see that's a tough one. I love the dial and bezel design of the 62MAS, but for me, this case shape takes the win. I'm all for those pieces that are a little quirky!

I own a seiko srp777 turtle with the same rubber strap in your video and I just love it, but.........this Willard is really eating away at me, looks stunning, I don't know why seiko didn't sign the crown though. 😀👍🏻

I CANNOT decide...green or black? It will be a daily driver for me at work (not a desk job...) I can't go wrong with black, but the green is so cool...yet, I'm afraid the green will look to fancy or nice, if that makes sense. Want it to go with anything and not stand out too much, yet be special at the same time...help?
Well I cannot decide for you! But my personal suggestion would be to get the black and get some awesome straps for it. I love a versatile watch that you can mix and match straps on 👌
Spb265 - best of both worlds. Sometimes looks black, sometimes looks green/teal

This honestly wears so well. There are smaller, similar looking references, which might be better for you though.

What brand wafflevstrap is that? Seems to have slight curve at the lug end and not too long as many others.
I have SPB151 replace the bracelet with SBDX001 rubber straps, it looks awesome and for SPB153 green olive i replace the rubber straps with jubilees bracelet

Sorry. I know it’s seen as a ‘cool & iconic’ case design, but I can’t help but share the opinion of probably most non-watch enthusiasts. Nice looking watch but would look so much better with a normal circular case shape & crown at 3 rather than this weird one with crown at 4…
