YELLOWSTONE IS BACK! I definitely didn't expect them to do that to John Dutton but I think the story is going to work really well. I'm already really enjoying Beth and Kayce having more screen time together. Bring on this new season! Let me know your thoughts on the first episode in the comments.
I had a feeling that they were gunna kill him off bc of the last seen with Jamie and Sarah and Jamie talking about killing Beth but that last thing Sarah said made me believe that they were going after John and that’s b4 we knew he wasn’t coming back. Kelly Riley said in an interview, not too long ago that regardless, if he was coming back or not, this is the way it was always supposed to play out with John and it was always only suppose to be 5 seasons. I really do hope that they are doing the spin offs with jimmy and the 6666s it would be nice to see something with all of them, but I know the actor that plays Casey doesn’t have any plans on that since he is working on gis music. I was watching a stuff before the new episode aired with the cast, and everybody went into it blind. Nobody was allowed to know anything other than their parts so the reactions were genuine. I just truly hope that they end the show right
Beth and Rip steal the scenes they’re in. Both such powerful actors. I am in awe of Kelly Reilly’s ability to act without the need for words, yet you know exactly what she’s experiencing.
I understand but we don’t need it 5x every episode. Thats legit all season 5 was about. They haven’t had a plot for this show since the end of season 3
Just hope this "path he chooses" isn't the end that he saw of him and Monica and Tate. Please Taylor - God - Sheridan, don't kill his family life in the process of him taking Jamie and his murderous, "assisted suicide" friends, to the train station. Also Rip is gonna find out about the Beth and his baby situation that Jamie had a hand in and he's going to go shave a few people down with Kayce as payback. This is going to be such an action packed, drama-tastic end to such an amazing, brutal, chaotic and beautiful story. Gosh I can't believe this part of Yellowstone is ending after just 5 episodes, it's not enough, we need more. God I hope they bring them all back for many more seasons of the spin off, the characters and actors deserve to continue on, they've staked their claim in our homes and hearts through this story and we want to see more even without Kostner abandoning the cast. Yip yip yip.
this episode was AMAZING!!!! i watched it 3 times. Beth being so vulnerable, Kayce being super strong and Rip being Rip. I am so ready. I am locked it!
I watched it 12 times!! I usually don't like gay programs, but this looks pretty good. The scene when Beth and Rip were banging was pretty cool. And the karate fights were very realistic. The part where the guy dives off the waterfall was a bit over the top.
That was my breaking point as well. I knew John was going to be killed off. So I was ready for that. I knew Beth would be devastated. The moment she collapsed into sobs once Rip arrived, I thought, he is her safe space. And I bawled as well. That was such a powerful moment.
If you’ve watched this show from the start, you might think that Beth was always going to kill Jamie. But. As mean as she is,I’m not sure Beth is a killer. Kayce and Rip, however- different story. Either one of them would do it in a heartbeat.
Jamie will probably tackle that brunette bi off the cliff to save Beth in the end. Sending himself and her to.the train station, sacrificing himself for Beth
Yeah it's true! I think if the Taylor VS Kevin feud didn't happen then I feel his character might had had a redemption arc. But Kevin leaving meant Taylor was written into a corner
This cast is so strong, with such well written characters. I can't imagine an actress that deserves an Emmy more than Kelly. Her performance in this episode was so strong. But Luke has really stepped up these last few years too. His character arc which developed as he reconciled with John really showed how good he is. There are rumors that Taylor Sheridan may continue this storyline on under a new title. (YS Generations?) He needed to get Yellowstone reruns out from under the Peacock Plus contract. By ending YS and bringing it back as a different show can accomplish that. And Luke, Kelly and Cole have hinted in interviews that there's a possibility.
Of course Kevin Costner' was missed. But in all , the rest of the cast did a great job filling in the voids the program is so powerful it seems to end before it gets started. Guess im a true Yellowstone fan. Love the show
Times have changed in Texas , when the four 6666 ranch sold it broke my heart. I understood yet at 73 seeing it go to Hollywood, sad. All our ranches have changed. I am sure its like this all over.
I wish I could look forward to this show but its gotten boring and repeativie. Jamies gone back and forth from being the villian like 3 times, and the random cowboying over moving the plot has always been there but its getting more annoying when the plot parts are dumb too
Everyone is mad about John being murdered but it was expected. I believe this is the push that Kayce needed and the ranch was meant to go to him. The way out being suicide of course is not expected however it’s because of this cause of death that’s going to push the family in a way that they should have been pushed. It always seemed like there was a hint of hesitation because John was stuck in some old ways. Now they are all forced to handle things on their own without his help. I see this also bringing everyone together like chairman Rainwater. It was brutal that it was presented within 30 seconds of the show starting but I do think this is the push that was needed for the family to fully focus moving forward and take down everyone that’s needed to be taken down.
It was quite a roller coaster. Lloyd enjoying the morning twilight was a great start. Then it fell apart until Rip came home. The gay/chihuahua/vaseline dialogue in the middle of the Texas prairie was so ridiculous.🙄 The north camp property looked way better than I expected! Shout out for Billy Ray Klapper, the bits & spurs fella, who they paid tribute to in credits. He passed a few months ago. Also to W. Earl Brown, who played Beth’s supervisor on trash duty. Anybody else recognize him?🤗
@ I’m concerned after seeing the trailer that came out. To me, it looks like somebody pushing him over the cliff at the train station, (especially the hair) so Ima be nervous about that til the final episode! I’ll be wrecked if it is.😭💔
Or die doing it. Her father was so robust despite everything. I doubt she thought he'd die anytime soon. What kind of people did Sarah utilise that would take out a person as High Profile as a Governor
@@kungfufemafam9216he's just circling the drain l, getting worse, less relatable. It would be nice if he found redemption but Beth is going to end him irregardless
I think it was a great episode! ❤ Can't wait to see how it brings two old enemies together to defeat Market Equities. Making Tate the trust beneficiary was genius. Sheridan is on fire.
I think this'll end with Kayce killing Jamie, and Beth killing that women who seduced him. Fitting given nobody had been trusting Jamie in the family more than Kayce to the very end.
John would never commit suicide! Unraveling that I believe, is one of the plotlines for the second half of the season. I was touched when Beth fell into Ripp's arms at the end of the show. They both lost a father. I don't want to be around when he and Casey unravel who was behind this.
@jbollaert48 you would think the "Professional" killers would figure out something more conducive to the individual. She even said he has a lot of people who don't like him. The Professional killers seem to go with the easiest way in their minds. I found them very dismissive
It would be interesting if Sarah finds out that her people never got a chance to carry out the suicide. If Jamie told John, maybe he figured he needed to fake it and work behind the scenes dealing with the investors, he is the governor so he has the resource's to fake his own death. If Jamie didn't tell him about it I think the native american leader may have at the end of season 5 part A. I picture all the killing and other things happening and in the last episode Beth and Rip are visiting John's grave at the family cemetery and John steps out from behind a tree to talk with them, now that everything has been dealt with and the ranch is saved. Costner is said to have visited the set during final episodes shooting, he may have done his last scene or two then, and until he did only Sheridan and Kevin knew about it.
Creative liberties are taken on every show with the audience expected to simply overlook and accept them. The scene where Jamie gets the call and the voice tells him the times surrounding John's death is one then he acts surprised when Sarah admits she set it up. The other is when he took his own Father to the Train Station and Beth was there waiting for him yet she admitted she wasn't aware the Train Station existed. How'd she know that's where Jamie was going then? The most plausible COD for John would've been to grease the brakes on his Ram truck. Anyway, I'm really glad the series is back and my wife and friends and I look forward to seeing how this plays out. I can't wait to find out who Carter is shooting at.
I really thought they were gonna quietly get Costner back at least for some. So opening the season like this was NUTS. They've got balls to do that, and i applaud them for it. And they did set up the possibility, so it's not like a stupid forced change.
I was so excited to see this was coming back on, but now I am so disappointed. I have always been team Jaime and was so happy at the end of part one to see he was finally standing up to Beth and Jon and taking some action. But then his girlfriend takes it upon herself to hire a hitman because Jaime makes the, very correct, observation that Beth and Jon will come after him for the impeachment??? And that just unraveled any character development for Jaime. My real issue is Beth though. She is never held accountable for anything. She runs around drunk, assaulting people, destroying property, threatening to harm children (yes, she did threaten Jaime's son), and basically acting like a toddler in mid-tantrum, and absolutely no one holds her responsible. She places all of her vileness back on Jaime, because he didn't tell her about the sterilization. I agree he should have told her, but she bears just as much responsibility in that as he. First off all, Jaime was just a kid himself, why go to him for help? Didn't feel like she could go to Jon? Why didn't she go to Lee? He was the oldest sibling, and was probably a better option than an 18 year old kid. Second, she put parameters on Jaime that he had to take her where no one would know her. Unless they left Montana, where did she think he was going to take her??? Jaime wasn't exactly loaded with options. Third, she didn't want to tell her father or her oldest brother, why didn't she tell Rip? Not only did she not tell him, when he asked her if she was pregnant she looked him in the eyes and lied, and has continued to lie to him ever since. And when she finally does tell him, he will go kill Jaime with no questions asked despite years of dishonesty, and no accountability fot it. She told Kayce that she knew Jaime could kill, because she saw it, and he blindly accepts her statement. Not one follow up question from Kayce about what she means. Based on how entitled Beth is, I can't imagine her having any shame about admitting she forced Jaime to kill his biological father, went with Jaime to the Train Station to dump the body, and took pictures of the whole thing so she could blackmail Jaime at her leisure. The combination of Beth being not only permitted but encouraged to act like a child in a perpetual tantrum, Jon's death, and Jaime once again letting himself be controlled by others just overwhelmed me with disappointment. And don't get me started on how watered down the rest of the cowboys were. They did Teeter dirty.
I thought Jaime was actually the brother she felt closest to when growing up. I understood he was the only one getting her loneliness as he felt it himself. That is why she is acting out on him so cruelly, because she loved him and feels like he betrayed her (which is actually true while missing the point that they both are victims of their upbringing). Otherwisely I think you are right. John was not an able father. I was happy the show let him have his moment reflecting on that. Her pregnancy should have been his responsibility and if Beth was being honest she would realize Rip wouldn’t be on the farm anymore if all of this had come out and she had a part in the situation as well. Either way the whole story is incredible devastating - even more so if you think it happend in reality. And it is devastating to think that two kids were so afraid of their father they wouldn’t trust him. The whole family situation with the Duttons is so toxic. (And actually I think Jaime is the scapegoat of an cluster b personality type father ;)). Besides this, I love the character of Beth. Actually all of the „children“. Their characterization is really fascinating. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t applaud their arresting if they were real people. 😏
I just can't get over a feeling John isn't really dead. There were rumors that Kevin did film one episode, I'm hoping it will be the finale and he shows his handsome face!
Same here. He could have planned his disappearance to get to the bottom of what Jamie is trying to do and with whom. I think it was Rip who casually mentioned to Kayce at one point , Oh, he’s leaving..”. Referring to John. I think John will show up at end of season abd put away Jamie by either killing him or putting him in prison. ???
@@jbollaert48 I can see Rip being involved with his 'fake death', not sure who else would be in on it. If this is the case, I can't see him putting Beth and Kaycee through this kind of pain if it's not real. Hell, who knows lol
Yup him & that woman...what's gonna happen is Jamie's conscience/guilt gonna give up that woman...he too much of a coward. Plus I'm not sure if Jamie knows that Tate is the beneficiary....that may cause a problem for him.
I heard that Kevin Costner was leaving the show but damn I didn’t think they’d do his character like that. He didn’t even say “hey, hello, how are you” 😢
I think the way the handled John was good, I mean I know Costner didn't want to come back, so I'm glad they are wrapping it up instead of leaving us hanging and just stopping. I hate it when TV shows do that and don't give us closure. SO I'm excited to see the this show give us that. Beth is one of my favorite characters, I mean I see how people don't like her because people hate strong intelligent women. Her dynamic with Rip is awesome he gets and loves her. So now Jamie has killed both his biological and adoptive dad, so I can't wait for karma to get him.
@@ADivaForLife Yeah he shot him Season 4 Episode 10 because he was the one that put the hit out on the entire Dutton Family. Beth caught him dumping his dad's body at the Train Station.
I missed the debut of S5E9, but I bought the series, which is supposed to include all of S5 Part 2, so I can see it whenever it shows up on Prime. I am not all that surprised that John's death was not shown and happened in the interim between E8 and E9. Sheridan wanted to get the series done, and Costner's unavailability was a roadblock he had to go around. The easy way out of this "whodunit" would be for Jamie to grow a set and admit his involvement, but then what would we need the last 7 episodes for? Whatever Beth does is going to be truly massive, because the rest of the family, I believe, will have a part in the revenge. Kayce's wolf is a continuance of the earlier appearances of it when he did the dream quest with the assistance of Rainwater and Moe. I believe they will also have a part in the resolution of John's murder. Sheridan is a master storyteller, he's thought this out well.
Ok, im gonna say it. Beth ISNT BLAMLESS HERE. She is far less a victim here once you consider some things. First let me say she is totally within her right to hate Jamie over the hysterectomy and never forgive him or see him as family; but she has also suggested killing Jamie multiple times, going as far as to try to convince John to off him. She PROMISED she would take Jamie’s child from him, whatever that means. Has vowed to destroy him, regardless of the cost. Then there is the mountain of times she blackmailed him for killing, even though everybody has taken their fair share of people to the train station. Thats was the dumbest blackmail she ever maid. She also has the nerve to blame Jamie for “destroying” the ranch and everything John worked for even though she isnt shy about the fact that she didn’t really care about the ranch. She originally wanted nothing to do with it, whereas Jamie actually has worked the ranch and has made continuing efforts to preserve the ranch even if it didn’t line up with Beth or Johns idea on how to do it. People are going to blame Jamie regardless of if it was his intention or not but ignore the fact that right before Jamie angrily called for a hit, she had barged into his house, attacked him, and made even more threats to him.
Didn't this all stem from the fact that she blames Jaime for their mothers death. Even though she died in child birth. If Jaime is a villian...then they turned him into one.
I was sooooo happy to finally press the remote control and start watching Yellowstone However I'm soooooo annoyed that it has been the last of John Dutton, and to say it was suicide NO WAY would John end his life this way this wasn't his character. I and I'm sure millions of people will wish Kevin Costner all the best for the future especially given the bad luck he's having.
I understand the anger of viewers at seeing John Dutton set up for suicide inside his bathroom wearing old man pajamas! That in itself was the first clue his death was not at his own hand! Looking forward to Beth, Rip, & Kayce leading justice for JD.
John Dutton being killed off screen killed my interest in the show. I say everyone dies off screen now because that’s how Hollywood works. They entice you with great storytelling, and then find a way to ruin it in the end.
@SpecOpsCM remember it was Kevin Costner/John Dutton is the one who said he's not coming back so they had no choice but to figure out a way to get rid of his character. Kevin and the director were at odds and he wanted nothing to do with continuing his part as John Dutton
@@Kevin-pj7rlI understand that. I personally don’t know these people or relate to them in any way. So, I have to say I don’t feel sorry for Kevin Costner or the director. They’re getting paid millions to put out a show worth watching. They made something pretty special, and John Dutton the character deserved a better ending. We’re not going to get the actual envisioned end for this series, and it just feels a little fanfic now so I can’t take the show seriously at this point.
Idk. I don't know if john duttons end was bc costners feud w Sheridan or the feud culminated due to this plot point- thinking john Dutton deserved a better ending (which I think is true). Some even argue that Sheridan wrote this ending as a jab at costner himself. Either way I didn't like this endpoint. I wanted him to survive these last 6 episodes and to be standing over his defeated enemies by the end. Sad to think that if he's john lll and Kasey and Monica kid was going to be john lV that there are no more john duttons. Making the entire family's history so much more tragic
Throughout this whole episode I was wondering what had happened to John's vegan girlfriend? She was not shown in the whole epidode except for a Spy camera clip of John and her which was shown at various times during the episode by those who had access to it.. There was no mention of her nor a scene that was shown explaining where she was nor showing her reaction being told about John's suspicious suicide/death. I find it more than strange that the writers did not include some kind of scene.. Even if she was immediately taken away for questioning. Nope, nothing. Her last known scene was in the previous season arguing with Beth and being threatened over frozen peanut m&m's. I think that The writers dropped the ball on this one.
Beth already knew her father was gone she felt it in her heart she told Kayce when he came she knew there father was dead she pointed to her heart while saying it
I’m honestly not mad about how they killed him off. People are saying he needed to go out like a gladiator and not like a victim, but how he died feels realistic to me. Gives me no country for old men vibes. Anybody can die at any time and in any way. We all knew a big death was inevitable and it still caught us all with our pants down. It’s the morning after and it still doesn’t feel like he’s dead, the same way it would feel in real life
It just amazes me how many of you are "fans" of the show and love it so much, yet are surprised by what happened. Costner has said she the end of S5 part 1 that he wasnt coming back. So they did what they needed to do to keep his character relevant without actually being there. If youre that mad, stop watching, cause youre not a true fan.
It's an out of character move. We all know it was because of behind the scenes drama, but there were many ways to address it. Frankly, I'm tired of jamie getting railroaded and Beth getting off the hook for everything. She's an unrealistic character, so it strains credibility with her in most of the series.
@Raeodor see, now you're just taking reality and putting it into a fake television show. By doing that, of course you're gonna hate Beth, probably don't like Monica either. You think any of this shit in the show actually happens? Besides the cowboys shit, nothing is realistic. It's a tv show. It's not that serious.
@Raeodor also, Costner has come out and said multiple time there was no drama. He wanted to go and do his movie Horizon and couldn't commit. If by drama you mean the strikes that happened with the actors, I guess, still had nothing to do with Costner leaving the show.
There is a flaw in the whole scenario , there is a power outage at the Governor's mansion , and the security cameras went down as a result . Do they really expect us to believe that the mansion doesn't have backup generators , that come on instantly ?
Why not put the place in a land trust and have some contract where the Dutton family and direct heirs have a life estate? i only know about this show from clips and reading. i don't like the violence. If there was some "7th generation" covenant with the Indians, they should find a way to honor it, but it should be protected from Development, for sure. I don't get greed. That "rape the ranch to death" scene was brutal, That sweet voiced, grandmotherly lady sounded possessed. i would not mind watching the whole series someday if it is free on Prime. But it is pretty disturbing at times, so, maybe not. I like the idea of Beth and Rip adopting Carter. It is sad, but kids don't always want to take over the family farm or business. All the Dutton kids seem like they had alternative ways of making a living. I have not seen enough clips to understand what the Native Americans plan to do if they have possession and control of the land.
Also seems like there would have been some more stringent form of security for the residence. Yellowstone cowboys, including Kayce can be vengeful but these guys are mercenaries dk know how this will play out unless, as business men themselves, they are re-unleashed on Jamie and his pupeteer.
@swannix if a person really paid attention , it came out that Kayce spent ten years as a Seal , my money is on him , most mercenaries don't have the discipline that it takes to survive while being attacked . Good at offense , not defense .
The writers of the show are outstanding. Although it is sad that pappa Dutton was killed, I agree it is a refresh for the show, it's addition by subtraction. Beth, Kayce and Rip are about to get medieval on those fools. Jamie is gonna wish he got taken to the train station. Its gonna be a great 2nd half. Taylor Sheridan is amazing, how does he keep putting out such quality content. Dude is a genius. Watching Lioness now and Landman next week looks good too.
You know John would never self delete after his speech to Jamie when he was about to that. It’s just fortunate that they introduced the professional hitmen storyline before Costner decided not to return, even if it is exceptionally rushed.
I really enjoyed how Rip and Walker have came together sure they ain’t bffs but Rip once Walker showed he could be trusted and lived up to the brand rip has now accepted him as a brother in the Y brand.
If the series were ending with season 5, I'd say Rip kills Jamie, after finding out what he did to Beth. But we are at least getting two more seasons, so Jamie will probably survive.
I can't hate jamie or even dislike him. I don't know why i despite that like rip and beth. but i hoped it ends good for jamie but it makes sense why he's like that and why he's so easy to manipulate by sarah. He just wants to be loved and accepted by someone but with how he was treated by john abd beth. If i would be treated like that by my "family" I also wouldn't be pro them.
Because of the writers strike and Costner taking on Horizon and being unavailable to continue with Yellowstone I knew the writer had to kill his character off but this is genius. A possible suicide that’s going to be revealed was a murder by his adopted sons pos wife. Jamie is going to buckle under Beth and the truth will be revealed. End of season!
I didn't know about the production problems and K. Costner's departure. The sudden death at the begging of this half season was a s**t surprise and the show is definitely worse for it.
I think Sheridan did it on purpose out of spite. I read the other day that it was part of Costner’s contract originally not to be killed off in a humiliating way for the character nor in a way that could humiliate his real life family.
Think you might be wrong about the wolf… In previous season he kept seeing the wolf, which made him do that spiritual ritual, where he seen his future laid out… it told him he needed to choose between the ranch or his family. Seeing that wolf felt sinister.
Kevin Costner just did not want to do it anymore. This will be a fantastic ending. Get ready for the cold bloodied killing. Can you imagine Rip and Kacy just going completely crazy on EVERYONE!!!
@spc1689 Your comment that 'Kevin Costner just did not want to do it anymore' is 100% not true. There were many factors, that were not of John's doing, that caused him to make a decision not to return. I would appreciate folks stating the real facts, such as Season 6 scripts were not really when John and crew returned to start filming, etc etc. John is a much loved & well respected legend in the industry with 1000% commitment to all his work, so he would never have left because he just felt like ending his participation in Yellowstone..
I hate that John was killed off screen..I know he didn't really kill himself but a off screen death is still disrespectful to the character. I don't care what beef was happening behind the scenes. The only reason to not be professional enough to at least put the beef aside for a day to shoot a on screen death is due to someone being petty. ..John Dutton was to good of a character to be disrespected
Proof that he isn’t dead. They never showed him. He’ll show up at end if season having found out all those who are betraying him and “taking care of them “. ?? Maybe.. what do I know?!?!?
@jbollaert48 I hope so. I keep looking for news that kevin Costner was at least on set for 1 day during the filming of the 2nd part of this season . I just don't know how they would explain him being alive. It looks like everyone has seen the body and confirm him being dead, it just seems like the question is if it's suicide or not. Him not being on camera could be because Costner didn't ok them using his likeness .. but him being dead looks pretty concrete
@@dustincongello5802 Well, we know it’s not suicide because it was planned by Jamie, his evil girlfriend and the killers she hired. If he is dead, Rip, Beth and Kayce will find out who. Kayce and Beth know their father would never commit suicide
Love the movie - hated to see Him die, but they had to do something to explain his absence (Kevin always one of my favorites), Rip and Beth stole this episode with so much nostalgia and nuances and subtle hints of coming episodes.
I didn't even understand it was him dying when I saw it. It was brutal....but without seeing him fight back. It didn't feel like him. It felt like how it felt when they killed off Kevin Spacey in House of Cards. I needed a scene of him before he died.
I recall hearing that once the decided to continue without Costner, it opened up the possibility of more seasons. Was that BS, or is this last run of episodes the end.
@@docvader82 Options are always there if the main actors want to go forward. They would have to retain the most popular actors to keep me interested though.
The only surprise was killing off Costner episode one. I was thinking episode 2. I knew season 5 Pt 1 he didn’t want to do it. So was expecting him to be killed off. Costner wanted to film his project the “Horizon Saga” parts 1-2
Yeah, i just wish Kevin would have just finished these 6 episodes. But I don't know how to feel about last night. I loved the ending and can't wait. But now they will prove that it wasn't suicide and then form an alliance with Rainwater and Moe to destroy all that have tried to destroy their homes.
As a seasoned TV show enthusiast, even I had a couple moments where they seemingly twisted up the timelines throughout the episode. That was my only complaint. Ex... When RIP gets the call from Beth he seemingly rides off to get to her ASAP, but then the next time we see him, hes with the crew that he seemingly left, and it almost seemed as if none of them knew about John. Then it shows Beth picking garbage.... something tells me a bunch of scenes were recorded before/after they decided what to do with the John character. But all in all, excited to see what happens this season.
It did say 6 weeks earlier for the scene with rip and the crew on the road! But at some point it jumped back to present time towards the end without a heads up to the viewers.
Great break down but what got me was did all those guys in TX know of John's death There was no talk of it Just the TX guys giving Rip free stuff & their demeanor around him I do like how they show times changing threw Rips eye & heart It's going to be good I'm alittle upset with Costner leaving though It's going to be a fight between Casey Jamie & Beth & who gets what. The wolf is Casey's spirit animal they showed that threwout the seasons
After the opening it was followed by a week's long flashback and ended with Rip coming home to Beth in the present. Rip left the Texas 6666 ranch after a phone call from Beth to come home her daddy was killed. He told his crew that something happened and he had to go. (The gifts were given when they settled in Texas)I suggest a second viewing.😊
Powerful scene was Sarah Atwood arranging for the contract hit. Dialogue and setting were jarring and the realization that there are such people, running loose in the world. Nothing personal, just business as long as the wire transfer has been confirmed!
John is not dead. It’s the greatest twist of all time. Taylor and Kevin have developed the storyline that will be talked about for years. Jamie and John Dutton have manufactured this “suicide/murder” to save the ranch. Did you notice that neither Kayce nor Beth saw their Dad’s face. Conveniently he “blew” his head off and conveniently the cameras went offline before the “suicide/murder”. John will reappear right before Beth is about to kill Jamie. Mark my words!
It would be great if Kaycee, Beth and Rip take revenge on Jamie, the same way the brand was removed from the old ranch hand, and it takes a bit of time before heading to the train station...
Like Logan Roy got killed off on Sucession, I think it worked. How many times was he going to cheat death? They all did, except for the one son in season one. How are the remaining family going to save Yellowstone?
YELLOWSTONE IS BACK! I definitely didn't expect them to do that to John Dutton but I think the story is going to work really well. I'm already really enjoying Beth and Kayce having more screen time together. Bring on this new season! Let me know your thoughts on the first episode in the comments.
Back? We had 10 mins of story progress and then 50 mins of filler.
Everyone loves me

@@giants2k8 I’m in awe of her (and Finn/Carter) using American English with no trace of their accents! She’s from England, he’s from Australia!🤗
I understand but we don’t need it 5x every episode. Thats legit all season 5 was about. They haven’t had a plot for this show since the end of season 3
Kayce is about to go on a straight up war path bent on vengeance and revenge.
Yeah! It's a side to Kayce i'm interested in seeing
Absolutely he’s a Navy Seal so he’s it’s about to get ugly
I remember Kayce saying "I've killed lots of men but I have never murdered anyone" and that is about to go out the window!!!
Yip yip yip.
yes esp on Jamie and Beth is gonna ape Shit on Sara
this episode was AMAZING!!!! i watched it 3 times. Beth being so vulnerable, Kayce being super strong and Rip being Rip. I am so ready. I am locked it!
its fiction---heellloooo
I watched it 12 times!! I usually don't like gay programs, but this looks pretty good. The scene when Beth and Rip were banging was pretty cool. And the karate fights were very realistic. The part where the guy dives off the waterfall was a bit over the top.

I was in shock I cried soo hard for John death OMG what an Episode

That was my breaking point as well.
I knew John was going to be killed off. So I was ready for that.

If you’ve watched this show from the start, you might think that Beth was always going to kill Jamie. But. As mean as she is,I’m not sure Beth is a killer. Kayce and Rip, however- different story. Either one of them would do it in a heartbeat.
I love that Jimmy is respected as a cowboy by Rip now. He has the confidents to joking make fun of himself and of others.
I liked the part when Jimmy had a knife fight with an Indian. And when the guys beat up those gay fellas behind the gas station.

Good, never liked John same with Beth, they both are evil.
Well everyone knew he didn’t appear in the filming of the final episodes. What did you think they were going to do with his character?
@@Ignats75 I agree with you. Let us hope for more to come. Sure beats Netflix these days.
Of course Kevin Costner' was missed. But in all , the rest of the cast did a great job filling in the voids the program is so powerful it seems to end before it gets started. Guess im a true Yellowstone fan. Love the show
Not having Costner on the series ending is pretty wild considering he is still listed as the executive producer on the show
Times have changed in Texas , when the four 6666 ranch sold it broke my heart. I understood yet at 73 seeing it go to Hollywood, sad. All our ranches have changed. I am sure its like this all over.
I cried when Kayce cried in doorway after seeing his dad on the floor and when Beth ran to RIP when he arrived home
Yeah Kayce's reaction was so sad!
lol
I liked the part when Rip farted in the truck with the windows rolled up. What a prankster!!
Just happy to, finally, have a new diversion from politics and P. Diddy. Something to look forward to now.
Anybody else recognize him?🤗
for a minute I thought Lloyd was gonna die
@ I’m concerned after seeing the trailer that came out. To me, it looks like somebody pushing him over the cliff at the train station, (especially the hair) so Ima be nervous about that til the final episode! I’ll be wrecked if it is.😭💔
My faith in Beth she will get Jamie
I think she definitely has the upper hand!
I think the opposite. I think Jamie will save Beth or be the main savior in the end

can't wait
I think this'll end with Kayce killing Jamie, and Beth killing that women who seduced him. Fitting given nobody had been trusting Jamie in the family more than Kayce to the very end.
That'll be an interesting move!
Unpopular opinion but I’ve felt sorry for Jamie for the most part. He was just a kid himself when Beth asked him to help her get an abortion.
YES!! I will die on this hill!
John would never commit suicide! Unraveling that I believe, is one of the plotlines for the second half of the season.
I was touched when Beth fell into Ripp's arms at the end of the show. They both lost a father.
I don't want to be around when he and Casey unravel who was behind this.
Right. John would never commit suicide and Beth and Kayce know it. The suicide plan was, of course what the professional killers planned
Beth probabily just followed jamie.
Which one is Carter?
@maximumeffort2729 the one beth took in.
Tammie, you’ve nailed it….that is exactly how I feel…so well said…I personally won’t watch season six should they have one.
I'm with you all the way. Beth is the nastiest person on earth. No respect for anyone. I imagine what she smells like yuck
Losing Kevin was a huge loss. But, don’t you think Sheridan has created and developed other characters that can keep us in the saddle for a while?
The show was definitely centered around John Dutton, and I feel like it still will be because it'll now be focussed on his death
I just can't get over a feeling John isn't really dead. There were rumors that Kevin did film one episode, I'm hoping it will be the finale and he shows his handsome face!
Yea cuase they really didn't show his face when he was laying on the floor
Same

John Dutton would never off himself. Never. Jaime did it or was involved.
That is why I said set up and not just suicide. I realize he didn’t kill himself.
It was kind of suggested in some of the previous episodes when Sarah spoke of hitman agency that can eliminate her enemies.

💯 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Didn't this all stem from the fact that she blames Jaime for their mothers death. Even though she died in child birth. If Jaime is a villian...then they turned him into one.

Agree. Can't waite and see kayce, RIP and Beth take Jamie and Sara out.
I’m a huge Yellowstone fan! I will miss Kevin but I think they can still carry on with great writing. At least, I hope so.
I hope so too!

You miss one of an important part. When Beth looked into the bedroom. That's when she also knew.
Beth already knew her father was gone she felt it in her heart she told Kayce when he came she knew there father was dead she pointed to her heart while saying it
@@lorrietsaoussis5168 Did you agree with how they took him out? Or not believable?
TMZ just posted now that Kevin Costner just found out about his death. Funny since his name was mentioned at the episode end as a producer, I think.
There is a flaw in the whole scenario , there is a power outage at the Governor's mansion , and the security cameras went down as a result . Do they really expect us to believe that the mansion doesn't have backup generators , that come on instantly ?
Theres a bigger flaw that 10 min was dedicated to that story and 50 min was random bs cowboying and petting horses
Kasey does not believe it.
I need to watch this episode again, it was that good
The writers of the show are outstanding.
Sad, epic, I love it
Yeah there's still potential with the show!
If the series were ending with season 5, I'd say Rip kills Jamie, after finding out what he did to Beth. But we are at least getting two more seasons, so Jamie will probably survive.
Him leaving killed it! Doesn’t matter what they do with the show.. Kevin leaving killed the show
I can't hate jamie or even dislike him.
💯
Because of the writers strike and Costner taking on Horizon and being unavailable to continue with Yellowstone I knew the writer had to kill his character off but this is genius. A possible suicide that’s going to be revealed was a murder by his adopted sons pos wife. Jamie is going to buckle under Beth and the truth will be revealed. End of season!
I didn't know about the production problems and K. Costner's departure.
The sudden death at the begging of this half season was a s**t surprise and the show is definitely worse for it.
Totally BS that Taylor ended johns death the way he did. I watch all of his shows! Totally pissed off how he killed Kevin off!!!
I think Sheridan did it on purpose out of spite. I read the other day that it was part of Costner’s contract originally not to be killed off in a humiliating way for the character nor in a way that could humiliate his real life family.
I’m all in
Same!
They did me dirty

😂😂😂 between all the stupid shit that happens in the world, I wouldn't be surprised if it really was the real Kevin trolling us 😂
Think you might be wrong about the wolf…
In previous season he kept seeing the wolf, which made him do that spiritual ritual, where he seen his future laid out… it told him he needed to choose between the ranch or his family.
Seeing that wolf felt sinister.
"Hurr durr, Jimmy's stupid"
Yeah we get it, props to Teeter for speaking up
Kevin Costner just did not want to do it anymore. This will be a fantastic ending. Get ready for the cold bloodied killing. Can you imagine Rip and Kacy just going completely crazy on EVERYONE!!!
It's definitely going to get bloody!
Thanks for the support
@spc1689 Your comment that 'Kevin Costner just did not want to do it anymore' is 100% not true. There were many factors, that were not of John's doing, that caused him to make a decision not to return. I would appreciate folks stating the real facts, such as Season 6 scripts were not really when John and crew returned to start filming, etc etc. John is a much loved & well respected legend in the industry with 1000% commitment to all his work, so he would never have left because he just felt like ending his participation in Yellowstone..
Did Jamie do it, making it look like a suicide?
@@marthareichhold8201John?
This left us depessed
@@donaldgeorge6656 I always have wine ready to go cuz u never know what will happen.
Jamie must visit the railway station.
It's not the railway station..It's the train station..If you ever watched they say take him to the train station..get it right
Either way train station or rail way station there will be a few more passengers being dropped off
Maybe there’s a twist and J. Dutton isn’t truly gone, a plot twist is in store!! Jamie may even be working with his father to fake his demise. 🤷🏽♂️
I told my hubby the same thing!!! There isn't a face left....😂😉
Kayce is gonna be the one to take out Jaime
Costner wanted out he was the executive director and he got his wish
Finally 💯
Love the movie - hated to see Him die, but they had to do something to explain his absence (Kevin always one of my favorites), Rip and Beth stole this episode with so much nostalgia and nuances and subtle hints of coming episodes.
I didn't even understand it was him dying when I saw it. It was brutal....but without seeing him fight back. It didn't feel like him. It felt like how it felt when they killed off Kevin Spacey in House of Cards. I needed a scene of him before he died.
John Dutton was the soul of the Show. Never thought they will end this that way. My interest died now.
I recall hearing that once the decided to continue without Costner, it opened up the possibility of more seasons. Was that BS, or is this last run of episodes the end.
Ah okay! That's interesting. I always thought this was the last season but I recently heard that it might continue
I love Mo😊
@@llskinny84 Thanks for that! I totally didnt see the 6 weeks part... I literally must have blinked lol
@@Enc7V I agree. There were some strange scenes with the timing.
Your interpretation of the wolf was completely wrong. Did you not watch season 4 and 5 at all?
Jamie needs to go to the train station
If you know you know lol
Yes he does
I thought the episode was a fresh take on the whole Yellowstone drama.
Definitely. It provided something different for sure
ME TOO. I started watching 1883.
1883 is so good isn't it! I'm on episode 8 on my rewatch
@BrainPilot I'm only on episode 3. I went on Prime to acquire the episodes. Happy, I can watch it at my leisure.
@@Helen-xe3eg1883 is one of the best series ever. I’m wishing you a good watch.
Jamie isnt as weak as you think.
I'll wait and see on that then! I feel like Sarah is even pulling the strings for him
Powerful scene was Sarah Atwood arranging for the contract hit.
I don't think so.....Kayce examined the body. It would be a stupid twist.....this isn't one of those shows.
Jamie will have to unalive sarah 😅
And Beth will have to unalive Jamie.
I thought Jamie was sending Sarah after Beth
His face was not shown. Perhaps John Dutton is still with us AKA Kevin Costner❣️
It would be great if Kaycee, Beth and Rip take revenge on Jamie, the same way the brand was removed from the old ranch hand, and it takes a bit of time before heading to the train station...
Where do I watch Season 5 episode 9
I though it was great!❤❤
Yeah I enjoyed it too!
Like Logan Roy got killed off on Sucession, I think it worked. How many times was he going to cheat death? They all did, except for the one son in season one. How are the remaining family going to save Yellowstone?
