  • NBA legend Kobe Bryant sat down with me to discuss his life on and off the courts and the mental and emotional attributes it takes to deliver results at the top level for a sustained period of time. As well as being an inspiration for millions, Kobe also tells us the people who have inspired and continue to inspire him to strive for mastery.
✍️ Full show notes and worksheet for this episode: jordanharbinger.com/249
Kobe Bryant is best known for his 20 years on the basketball court as one of the game's most iconic legends. He now focuses his famous tenacity on running Granity Studios, an award-winning multimedia company devoted to creating new ways to tell stories around sports -- like Legacy and the Queen with Annie Matthew.
What We Discuss with Kobe Bryant:
🏀 What creativity and basketball have in common and what Kobe has carried from the court to his new business.
🏀 Lessons Kobe has learned from people who are the best at what they do - from Taylor Swift to Jony Ive to Sean Penn to Kate Winslet to Larry Moss to Oprah to George R.R. Martin.
🏀 How Kobe manages pressure in high stakes situations on the court and at the head of a creative content studio.
🏀 The music that gets Kobe in the mindset he needs to excel at whatever he does.
🏀 The importance of learning how to negotiate with yourself in order to achieve greatness, and how parents might help their kids develop this crucial skill.
    🏀 And much more…

One of the best interviews I've ever witnessed. Full of questions that gets into the core of the late legend Kobe's mentality and perspectives. Kobe is a true hero. It's now 9am in South Korea, and I'm like damn.. what a way to start the day off. Kobe has been dropping gems ever since the start of his career and it is a bless for the young generation (including myself) to be able to have him as the representation and a pivotal symbol for what it is to live a successful life. Now let us celebrate his life by living that mamba life!! Thank you for everything and Rest In Power our real life superhero, Kobe Bryant. #llkb

Mihlali Qoma Not being an avid basketball fan, I knew people really loved and respected Kobe for his mental toughness and his drive. But, since his death, I’ve watched highlights reels and short and long form interviews and all I can say is he was such a renaissance man. I love how he is sharp to analyze and make decisions using the big picture, but equally as diligent about all the little things. Even his answers are never just throw always - you know how some people just have that canned answer that they fall back to - not for him - you can see he is actively engaged in the now and his answers are very thoughtful. I’m sad or took a tragedy for me to get a glimpse at this remarkable person. I have a feeling his words and deeds have made a great impact on a great number of people and through this, his legacy continues. I think too that more people, like me, who didn’t really know much about the man will be curious and again, he continues to grow his influence. I can’t imagine though the pain his family must feel b/c he was intentionally and deeply in love with his girls and his wife.

Kobe is a man on a mission and he is about doing what inspired him and in turn he is inspiring others with his love of life, learning, basketball his first love (passion as he calls it) but it's love and it is exciting to him and exciting to us to see him do all things he does when he is playing basketball. He's one in a million who will continue to inspire, teach everyone about the things he has learned while playing basketball, it taught him about life, about the structure and how to be a great leader. I love the sound of his voice, it is so soothing and calming. Hell, the man knows how to motivate you to get you to do what you already know. He brings out the best in you. Kobe sorry we could not have told you all this while you were alive. It's better late than never. You just do not know what you mean to the generation that's coming behind you. You've done the groundwork, wrote the book made the pattern and all we have to do is just follow in your footsteps. Thank you Mr. Jordan Harbinger for this video and thank UA-cam.

The thing that truly separates Kobe from the rest, is his continuous evolvement.
At 11 he wasn't a good basketball player, and made it a long term plan through work and perseverance to become the absolute elite player that he is.
At 24 he wasn't a considerate leader and he changed his understanding of others to become the charismatic leader that he is.
At 37+ he wasn't a writer, but he endeavoured into uncharted paths using the experience of other experts and his attention to detail to become the charming story teller that he is.
Kobe walked the path better than any other. He understood (contrary to many other greats) that the road to true fulfilment is the Generosity to pass his wisdom and mindfulness to others.
That's why so many players adore him as a role model and mentor, and that's why we love him, although we may have never met him in person. He cares to pass the torch.
Kobe by teaching himself, and ascending to teaching others has become a true Master and that cannot be said about anyone of his peers.
You will be dearly missed, but we are oh so grateful for the journey.

I love Kobe. I didn't at first. I grew up in Texas where they were not fans so when I moved to LA I didn't like the Lakes..but over watching him work the way he did with such grace and honor and dedication. I saw him. I didn't listen to the onlookers of the media bullshit he was this or that - because how could you know him if you didn't - movement will be the legacy and he is that - and the way he was as a Dad - that's something will forever be - it's the most fucking hardcore DNA which as my Dad passed a few back - I see how much he gave me by being strategic like Kobe. Kobe isn't gone - he just changed form.

A photograher recently took a picture with my head down putting food in my mouth. I was very disgusted when I saw that photo. What's the person of purposely taking a photo of me doing that? I am happy that I looked at this video clip with Kobe, and learned how Kobe handles it when people take pictures of him in non reasonable poses. I just learned from Kobe, ignore it and carry on with my enjoyable evening. This is the right time for me to hear this as I climb to success. "Thank you" to Kobe and Jordan Harbinger for speaking about situations like that. I am now a better person for it, right now.
