We live in a small city in South Korea and I am homeschooling our children. We absolutely love it. I am confident I am providing a much better education than the US or Korean public school system can provide. I also love living in a less crowded area, near mountains and the ocean. We go on nature walks at least once a week as a part of their schooling. My husband also changed jobs (he was a draftsman) from white collar to blue collar (now a marine engineer that works on ship engines). I am thankful and happy for this quiet life raising our children in the countryside.

These weren't fruit and veggie picking jobs. I really think most of the jobs done by immigrants are not something that an American would do. There are several documentaries on this subject.
Most of the “job growth” are low paying part time positions like UBER/Lyft, hotel maids or fast food jobs that Americans can barely pay their bills with. UBER now only pays drivers 25 percent of the total cost of the fare. That’s down from about 50 percent last year. I really hope people are preparing as best they can. Remember, sometimes the best tool(s) you can have aren't things you can buy, but what's in your head/mind. *LEARN SKILLS.* Have at least two or three (hardcopy) books on survival skills, emergency medicine, home remedies/cures, homesteading, gardening, raising animals, etc. Most people probably don't have the room to raise cattle, but rabbits produce a large amount of very nutritious, great-tasting protein very quickly, and in a relatively tiny area. A female rabbit can literally become pregnant again just hours after giving birth, too. They are sexually mature in only 6 months, have a short ~1 month gestation period, and generally have large(r) litters, and they're fairly easy to care for. I've also got a huge assortment of heirloom seeds. I've heard stories of people having seeds in their home freezer and having them still be viable after decades. Hopefully it won't get to the point where the only food we have is what we can produce ourselves, but why not at least have the option of growing and/or raising something......anything? It wasn't all that long ago that people were mostly self-sufficient, but most have lost that knowledge. If the grid was now down for a long period, and we had no cellular phone service too, most people would be totally lost. That's very scary.

I really hope people are preparing as best they can. Remember, sometimes the best tool(s) you can have aren't things you can buy, but what's in your head/mind. *LEARN SKILLS.* Have at least two or three (hardcopy) books on survival skills, emergency medicine, home remedies/cures, homesteading, gardening, raising animals, etc. Most people probably don't have the room to raise cattle, but rabbits produce a large amount of very nutritious, great-tasting protein very quickly, and in a relatively tiny area. A female rabbit can literally become pregnant again just hours after giving birth, too. They are sexually mature in only 6 months, have a short ~1 month gestation period, and generally have large(r) litters, and they're fairly easy to care for.
I've also got a huge assortment of heirloom seeds. I've heard stories of people having seeds in their home freezer and having them still be viable after decades. Hopefully it won't get to the point where the only food we have is what we can produce ourselves, but why not at least have the option of growing and/or raising something......anything? It wasn't all that long ago that people were mostly self-sufficient, but most have lost that knowledge. If the grid was now down for a long period, and we had no cellular phone service too, most people would be totally lost. That's very scary.
