    • @CraftingwithJeanine
      @CraftingwithJeanine  7 років тому +3

      I tried using wired ribbon and didn't like it I spray mine with hairspray to keep their shape

    • @dmissu2
      @dmissu2 7 років тому

      That's a great idea too! Yeah, first I used wire edged for both colors, but I eventually found that made it too stiff, but if just the 25 foot ribbon is wire edged and the secondary color (all the rest) is not, it made a nice blend. Your tutorial is great and no you didn't talk or go too fast! Cheers!

    Another great video! I'm new at this and there are 2 problems I'm having. 1. The ribbon I'm trying to buy has a review that said it was too flimsy for bows. Does using the Aussie hair spray solve that problem? 2. I can't find a wood burning tool in where there are not people unhappy with it. The reviews for these things show a lot of discontent. Thank you. :o)

    • @CraftingwithJeanine
      @CraftingwithJeanine  4 роки тому

      Ok so on the ribbon what ribbon is it that you are trying to get cause some yes are very flimsy but it also depends on the style bow you are trying to make like this style you could use the flimsier ribbon for the shorter cuts and a grosgrain for the long part and then spray with hair spray when have finished the bow and as far as then wood burner I bought mine from Walmart years ago but this one here is very similar to it just keep in mind if you are going to use it just for ribbon I wouldn't worry too much about what people are saying about how it does at wood burning

  • @cassidy6985
    @cassidy6985 7 років тому

    Ok, ok, I guess the reason you don’t use a sewing machine to sew the stitches across the ribbon is because of the type of strong thread that you use? But I have a Janome heavy duty machine that I could use strong thread on and I could leave a long tail so would there be any reason not to? It just seems like it would save a lot of time. P.S. I HAVE WATCHED A LOT OF TUTORIALS ON HOW TO MAKE BOWS AND HAVE NOT “CAUGHT ON” UNTIL I WATCHED YOUR VIDEO. I KNOW I CAN DO IT NOW. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, YOU ARE AWESOME!

    • @CraftingwithJeanine
      @CraftingwithJeanine  7 років тому

      two reasons why I don't use a sewing machine one is I am not that great with it just yet I just started using one so I do not keep it out cause I have limited space and only take it out when I really need to and the other is for me it is easier and quicker to do it by hand but if it works for you I say go for it
