Buena Vista Village is a small farming community located on the banks of the Mopan River in the Cayo District. The village primarily produces citrus and bananas, but now, the women of Buena Vista Village are creating a trade of their own. The up-and-coming artisans are weaving a name for themselves with their exquisite tapestries made from banana fibers. In tonight’s “On the Bright Side” Sabreena Daly takes us to the Belize Banana Fibers base, where they transform agricultural waste into valuable home decor.
Thanks for the new opportunity for people around the world
What a great example of doing good free of charge for others. It gave me a smile knowing
My name is Braide, Ibiso from Nigeria. I am interested in waste management and especially Agricultural waste management like recycling and reuse of banana waste into different products from all you are doing and more.
Excellent work for sustainable rural employment and income generation.

How wonderful! Thanks for sharing
Great creative work
Well done. I hope that Jamaica and her neighbours will start up some of these projects.
Jamaica, the internet is very informative but better yet let's take a trip to Africa and India if they will permit us to do a study. They seem so advanced both in commercially manufacturing marketable products. The machinery varies in price according to the size of the business.
Turning to the coconut India is even using a very sophisticated aid that is quick and relatively safe to pick the nuts. I am impressed with the manners of mechinization made by them to suit their needs.
The same with Africa, and ladies, there women there are doing great things. They are really standing up to the men with their own business.
The waste tyre industry. They have their own big business in America yet we didn't know, so let's stick to our amazing African women and regional neighbours who will share with each other. It can be as big or small as we want so let's go guys.
Plus there is more such as our pineapple waste.
This is more sustainable than plastic eco bags. I want to have this inmy country
