  • The trail we did was called Subashiri, in the aftermath I’d recommend to do the Yoshida or even Fujinomiya trail if it’s your first time hiking like me!
Tips from what I've learned during the hike:
    * Water is expensive, 500-800/yen each bottle, drink a lot of water!
    * Bring 100 coin yens to pay for bathrooms, about 300-500 yen/each visit.
    * It's very cold even in the middle of the summer between the 7th-summit.
    * Bring snacks so you don't go hungry on the way up and down.
    * I saw a few people with normal sneakers, DO NOT have that, the way down is slippery and your feet sometimes drowns in the sand.
    0:00 - Intro
    0:46 - 5th station
    7:30 - 6th station
    12:00 - 6,5th station
    14:00 - 7th station
    17:17 - 7,5th station
    19:35 - 8th station
    20:50 - 9th station

Theo, thanks for the info, it is helpful for planning. I like how you covered the details like the hut and the sunrise. Based on this, going to skip both and make it a one day, up and back, hike instead.

Hi! Thank you so much for your comment. Even though I didn't get much sleep I think it was still somewhat helpful to lay down and rest for a few hours in the hut since we also got dinner. I however have friends who did it in one day and were fine cause they did an easier trail.
If you change your mind about the sunrise it is worth mentioning that if you don't make it to the summit you have to be on the right side of the mountain to see the sunrise.
The me today is happy that I booked the hut and saw the sunrise, but the altitude sickness there and then made it not worth it. I hope this information helped :)
Just be careful, drink lots of water and take good rests!

Why can't they hire sherpas to build steps.
Edit: Såg nu att du är från Sverige, kör med Kebnekaise och Norge nästa gång.

Vi får se 😅 det hade definitivt blivit en häftig upplevelse att bestiga bergen i Norden!
