This is still genocide - A Yazidi-led short documentary in partnership with Yazda

Iraq used to be home to more than 550,000 Yazidis. More than 360,000 Yazidis remain displaced eight years since Da’esh launched their genocide campaign in Sinjar on August 3, 2014. The Yazidi Genocide has left Sinjar and Sinjaris deeply vulnerable like never before. This first Yazidi-led short documentary investigates the precarious situation in Sinjar today and highlights the colossal long-term consequences of the Yazidi Genocide eight years in.
On camera, Yazidi survivors and community members share their ongoing fight against community extermination. Their many voices present a new human light on the ongoing devastation that has left Sinjar unsuitable for community and human life. All participants understood their rights and provided their full consent to be featured in writing. Scenes of the infrastructural, economic, and social destruction markedly demonstrate how the Yazidi people are today being subjugated by political inaction from national and international stakeholders. Will the world finally listen and act?

الإيزيديون: ٨ سنوات من الإبادة
فيلم وثائقي قصير بقيادة الإيزيديين
العراق كانت موطناً لما يزيد عن ٥٥٠،٠٠٠ إيزيدي. أكثر من ٣٦٠،٠٠٠ إيزيدي ما زالوا نازحين بعد مرور ثماني سنوات على بدء الإبادة الجماعية التي شنّها داعش في ٣ أغسطس ٢٠١٤. لقد تركت الإبادة سنجار والسنجاريين في حالة حرجة وجعلتهم ضعفاء أكثر من أيّ وقت مضى. هذا الفيلم الوثائقي الذي يقوده الإيزيديون يحقّق في وضع سنجار اليوم كما يلقي الضوء على التداعيات الكبيرة للإبادة الجماعية الإيزيدية في سنتها الثامنة. أمام الكاميرا، يتحدّث الناجون الإيزيديون وأعضاء من المجتمع عن نضالهم المستمرّ ضدّ أعمال الإبادة الجماعيّة. أصواتهم المتعدّدة تلقي الضوء على الدمار المستمرّ الذي جعل من الحياة في سنجار غير صالحة للعيش. قدّم المشاركون في الوثائقي موافقتهم الخطية على الظهور في الفيلم. مشاهد من الدمار في البنى التحتية، الدمار الاقتصادي والاجتماعي تظهر بشكل واضح كيف أنّ الإيزيديين اليوم هم خاضعين للتقاعس السياسي من قبل أصحاب المصلحة المحليين والدوليين. هل سيستمع العالم ويبدأ بالعمل؟ تمّ تكليف لين زوفيكيان وThe Zovighian Partnership بإعداد هذا الفيلم الوثائفي حيث قامت بتمويله والمشاركة في إنتاجه ليكون بمثابة أصول مناصرة عامة للشعب الإيزيدي.
