- In this video we take a look at the Scuf instinct pro , a high level wireless Pro controller for XBOX series X Xbox series S and PC.
By the end of this video I hope to help you find out if the SCUF controller is worth it. Or if you might
be better checking out another controller instead , like the XBOX elite series 2 .

@@-KIMISAFOX ouch haha
near $200 for a controller is nuts when you can pick up a brand new Series S w/controller for $239
It really is huh ! Although it’s always nice to have more products available for Xbox . Hopefully we can see the price come down closer to the elite
The price is high, but it’s justified as there’s a price scuf has to pay for licensing and using xbox’s circuit boards, branding, and design
And get shit on by every 12 year old with paddles its a neccesity if you plan to olay multiplayer, this isnt 2010
That’s what casual gamers do and that’s ok 🤣 if you play it once a week then there’s no need right ?
@@iwearLingerie every gamesir controller of the past year left the chat
They need to make an elite series 3 so it feels like a series x controller and not an Xbox One controller
Exactly !! Can’t wait for it. What else would you like to see ?
@@Gavlaaar88 Personally, I don't see too many things it can improve on, but here goes.
1: Hall effect sticks
2: The extra buttons on the Series controllers
3: Interchangeable face plates instead of new colors.
4: The ability to change the left stick's position (so you can have an Xbox style or PS style)
5: 1 extra profile.
@@XTHHedgehog that’s some great ideas. Hall effect sticks are a must for me. Being able to change the stick layout is an interesting one , I prefer the Xbox layout but I do know many that prefer PS style. There is a contrller out there which I’ve seen that gives the ability to do that . Think it was a Victrix contrller for PS.
Great comment ! And thanks for watching.
@@Gavlaaar88 Victrix has Xbox controllers too
The Series 2 is really a Godlike controller… but I need a new one when I wanna play games like NFS or Elden Ring again 😅😂
Haha what you gonna do ? What about the Elite Core , especially if you already have the attachments
@godlgnv1155 the core or what
@Jace M. hey Jace, personally I prefer the buttons to the paddles , it’s just fits my hand well. I’d direct you to the full comparison video I made between the SCUF Instinct Pro and the Elite Series 2. Should be a pinned comment. Thanks for commenting !

Stick drift & back button on the grip used for b breaks off. Atleast for me, happened twice.
That’s some bad luck with your controller ! Sorry to hear that. I’ve heard of the bumpers breaking but not the paddles , something I’ll keep an eye on

I personally love this controller I got it on Amazon for 199 dollars and it came with no problems and it's still perfectly working 1 year later
Glad to hear it !! I often hear about the problems and not much about the controllers that still perform well. Enjoy !
Thanks for commenting also !
Same, but I'm going on 4 months with it.
I hammer on the paddles and triggers, haven't had any issues yet.
"it has to be the -P- rice -P- oint"
Your mic got that bass boost.
It also has the standard Xbox polling rate (125hz) so it’s truly not any quicker than a regular Xbox controller with a few customizable buttons.
Yeah that would be the main selling point is reduced input delay for me. How do you do that? secondly I would like 4 back paddles that are remappable buttons. Otherwise I don’t see a difference in controllers you are just getting ripped off 😂 just buy a razor chroma
Had a scuf for over 200$ and after half a year Stick drift and out of warranty. Never again. I bought a game sir 7 se with hall effect sticks. No Stick drift anymore.
But the only down side with the game sir SE is it only has 2 paddles, no mouse click triggers and no tactile buttons
The back paddles break… just send mine in for repair. Thankfully covered under warranty
That red is so clean unlike the original Xbox one controller that comes red and white
Let this be a warning to everyone that is considering getting one. I got one of these controllers and IMMEDIATELY out of the box it had stick drift. Support sent me another and THAT one also had stick drift out of the box. Absolute waste of money, do not buy. And if you do, be warned
Every controller has stick drift.
@@platypussociety I understand that many modern controllers will undergo stick drift at some point. But for a controller to have stick drift out of the box TWICE? That’s not worth the price
Right but the thing is all modern controllers use springs to return the stick back to neutral yes? If you use the spring just one time, it wont function the exact same way it did before. Thus drift out the box.
@@platypussociety I think something important to mention is that the stick drift I’m experiencing is not normal. I play COD and for both controllers the drift was in the right analog. The game was unplayable, the camera would immediately tilt to the sky directly up. Altering the dead zone settings did not fix the issue. So I get what you’re trying to say, I’m just saying that the issues I was facing is not worth the value of the controller
@@rollinallonce Yah that's unacceptable. I thought you were talking about minorrr stick drift.
I just got an advanced UAV on shipment with the XRK Stalker sniper only and first day owner of an Xbox elite series core I don’t even have back paddles yet. The controller is outstanding and takes a little getting used to but if you like the ps4 DualShock it’s like those thumb sticks but less rigid it feels like a damn cloud. It feels truly premium in the hands and most the comments about broken stuff is overexposed because every person who had a bad experience will most likely comment more than the great experience guys. Best controller I ever felt and I thought I’d never play cod as good again after going from a ps4 controller to Xbox with how loose the tension is on the series s/x controllers. Trust me please try the elite series 2.
I prefer the Scuf controller over the elite series controller and they’re about the same price
Hey thanks for the comment , how much is the SCUF and Elite where you are from ? The SCUF is a bit more expensive in Scotland 🏴
@@Gavlaaar88 here in America they’re about $170 each sometimes you can find the elite controller for a lower price
I bought one came in today its nice i love the mouse click buttons
They are awesome huh !!
I bought this controller purely for the mouse click buttons and triggers, just feels so nice unbeatable
They are great huh. My favourite part of the controller. Thanks for commenting !
Don’t you think they’re kinda hard to press though? They require a lot of force for them to register anything.
For a controller for 220$ dollars it is amazing
This was the cleanest loop ive ever seen, so perfect i didnt even notice it replayed, also battle beavers controllers 100% recommend good for the price 🎉❤😂
Hahah thanks ! I like to try and do that. Cheap way to get more views also a haha
As The Prophet Sunboy once said, ‘Good Morning, Scufs!’
Some video my guy !!!! ❤
Tried it in attempt to replace my 3rd elite series 2. The triggers and back buttons need a lot of pressure to press imo, didn’t like it as much as I thought so I returned it
Ahhh nice , what controller you using now ?
Near instant stick drift and the microphone jack creates horrible static. Owned 4 months :(
Yeah im starting to think scuf controllers suffer heavily from stick drift. I was using the ps4 scuf impact for my controller needs on pc for well over a couple years, and the drift has been awful on both sticks for quite a while. Games like fifa and quite frankly any game that requires movement is sometimes unplayable. Recently purchased the elite series 2 off the xbox design lab after thorough research, cant wait to use it
@@kimi1845 let me know how it is I’ve been looking at doing the same
@@danebruner3215 all ive heard so far are good things. it'll be my main controller so ill be using it often for things like forza, fifa, and i might try some fps as well, even though im used to kbm ill give it a go
From what I’ve seen it works for me but is a bit expensive I’m just waiting for a the instinct to get Hall effect joy sticks
Its good because you can decide if you wanna use mouse click or not. Cinch gaming controllers are decent but if i wanna play a racing game or something i can only use mouse click when i dont want to and the prices are over £300
Just bought one and it’s DOPE AF!! Buy it if you got the bag. Legit🔥
Hey hope you enjoy ! And hopefully don’t get too many problems. Thanks for Commenting, enjoy !
I bought the Elite series 2 and the quality was WAY better than I thought it would be
Yeah but the back paddles will become unresponsive
The scuf envision pro it has mouse triggers and it has paddles and has a button on the left side and right side and if you get the white it’s $30 dollars off and the total is if you get the white is only $150
I actually got one for one reason and that’s the drifting issues I’ve had with Xbox over the years. I’ve had multiple normal controllers and power a controllers and all of them have had drift and I take good care of my controllers. Now I’m not trying to start any dumb console war crap I’m just telling you my experience. I’ve had about 4 normal ps4 controllers and none of them have had stuck drift and I’ve had a ps4 since it’s release. As for Xbox I got an Xbox one s during December 2017 and each controller I had failed and then during mid 2020 my Xbox one s just straight up stopped working so I returned to my ps4. And then during march this year I got another Xbox I got the series s this time and the 1st controller after about a week already had horrible drift and then i got another one and the same thing happened so around June I decided to order this. The reason I did that was because my friend had an elite 2 and he said that it always got drift so this was pretty much my last resort. I still haven’t gotten drift so far but for some reason one of the back paddles doesn’t work I’m trying to find a fix right now but this is the longest I’ve had an Xbox controller without drift.
This control worths every cent, it is awsome
Glad you’re enjoying it Octavio, and hope you don’t get any problems !
Bro I want that shit so bad😭😭
My scuffs back paddle broke in hand 40 days after i got it. Plastic that flexs will evenly break. 😊
If it adds gyro, I will be surprised
it would probably be useless overall even as a LS cursor, because it’s not like any Xbox games would support gyro
@@masonvevo. that’s a fair point, but I’m talking about pc usage, because if you get good with gyro, it’s extremely good, probably a higher skill ceiling than sticks
Brooo i have my joysticks the same way lmfaoooo legend
Let’s gooooooo !!!!!
Gamesir G7 and SE are great and give you most of these features
Stick drift happens crazy fast.
i have this controller but the call of duty edition and i have no issues with it almost been 2 months no stick drift or grip peeling all buttons work great
Nice !! Hope that continues for you . Enjoy !!

SCUF Instinct Pro Versus The Elite Series 2. The DEFINITIVE Comparison. Which is Better ??

I find that alot of the expensive controllers like elite series 2, or scuff controllers always have a tendency to have faulty bumpers
no way the og series s controller is best😂❤
After my expansions maybe
Bro u can just buy a kit then put the same features on ur normal controller
Nvm I was wrong
I just want to know is it more durable than the elite series 2. I think the series 2 is better but I’ve run through so many because of bumper issues that I just want a reliable controller with paddles
100% better than the elite series 2
Can you remap the back buttons then remap the ABXY buttons with the back buttons still being set to A and B?
No
The back paddles act as the same button they're binded to so mine is abxy on the back but i can't bind the original abxy buttons to something else
Can you bind the buttons to different sides of the back buttons
I want a controller with the scuf instant paddles only nothing fancy other than some cool custom stuff I can do with the controller like colors ect but I’m not fixing to spend 300 dollars on one 💀
What do you play on XBOX , PC or PS?
No hall effect sticks then it's a ginat no Scuff drift faster then Ken block
Hahah I liked that, yeah the Sommer we get a Hall effect version of the scuf the better. Although will probably be super highly priced
The elite series 2 controller really sucks as a pro controller in my opinion. The back paddles are just way to sensitive and the face button’s almost always have issues. Be it with them registering i pressed it twice or I didn’t press it at all. The build quality is definitely pretty good. At least it seems like it is. I think the new Xbox Series X controller that comes with the Xbox Series X is extremely good. I wish I could take that exact controller and just add paddles and stop triggers to it myself because even though the new Scuf instinct is made from that controller it just doesn’t feel like the series x controller that comes with the Xbox series x console. The buttons feel all hollow and mushy as to where the Series X controller that comes with the Xbox Series X console feels so responsive, click, solid put together and tight. The scuf just feels all loose and soft. I don’t know it’s hard to explain but it’s pretty confusing because it’s universally the exact same controller Scuf just modified it with there parts. WTF did they do to it? How does it feel some much different in the hand and pressing the face button’s? Now don’t get me wrong I still really like the Scuf Instinct controller because the back paddles are really good and i think the ober design looks pretty dope. It’s simple but dope looking. I would still take stock Xbox Series X controller with those same back paddles and some stop triggers. Man that would be the ultimate pro controller in my opinion.
My elite caught stick drift within a few months, along with a lot of my other friends having the same issues.
I’d like to start my own UA-cam but man who would edit my shit I’m bad with editing tech
You should go for it . It always takes time to edit . Everybody starts from zero . Go for it ! What kinda stuff would you like to cover ?
but why you dont buy the xbox elite series 2 controller
I had it repaired once and now it's doing the same thing. I gave up on scuff
same
Complete garbage like the elite controllers. I went through 3 of them. Complete shit😂
Elite controller is way more worth it with its features except elite controller tends to get stick drift but other than that elite is better
"Right for you" - wtf does this mean? Just answer is is good or bad.
It's good, but costs a pretty penny and has the same reliability issues regular xbox controllers have. Not only that, but in comparison the elite series 2 has more customizability, at a way cheaper pricepoint. Still, you'll find that it(elites2) also has tons of reliability issues. So at the end of the day, it's a gamble whether or not you'll get a good controller and another gamble wether or not it'll stay that way. Pick your poison.
This is coming from someone who owns both, but if I had to do it again, I'd just go with the elite because it has a better warranty, just for the piece of mind. Luckily, in my case neither of them have given me any issues, but it's another story for most people. (i kind of swap between them whenever, I feel like it, in an effort to reduce the ammount of wear and tear.)
I’ll tell you now. Don’t buy the Elite Series 2. I love the weight and feel of the controller but the bumpers don’t work when pressed in certain spots, the sticks have weird dead spots that’s only noticeable in specific games, and the B button feels different than the others. I take good care of my stuff and I’ve never had a controller go to shit so fast. I still use it but fuck I wish it was better for the price.
same thing happened to mine after playing through elden ring and my A button sticks for some reason too
So everyone has convinced me not to buy the scuf or elite series 2. What is the best controller that isn't broken right out of the box or in 3 months?
The grip on the white version started to peel after a few weeks
That sucks ! The white SCUF? Or ELITE ?
@@Gavlaaar88 the white scuf instinct pro
In my opinion, I prefer the Raikiri Pro controller. It's a waaaaaaay better looking controller, and it looks like an Xbox Series X controller and not too much like an Xbox One controller (Although I think they're nice controllers).
I’ve heard good things about the Raikiri, yet to be get my hands on one however ! Hopefully will.
Thanks for the comment !
No only controllers that allow the entire thumbstick to be replaced are worth it these just get stick drift and pointlessly allow you to take off the tops of the thumbsticks
Series 2 core is literally a steal. Just order some Scuf paddles for $10-20 with it and you’re good to go. It will last longer.
The thing is the bumpers like break quick tho that’s my problem with the series controllers
@@yourmomshouse7302I think mine broke😂😂 I now have to press hard on the right bumper to even do something

Hey ! You’re right , to get good you still need to practice , a lot !! However these kinda controllers do offer you a few extra tool compared to the standard ones . Back buttons for example.
@@Gavlaaar88 I’m still thinking about the feathers… Maybe one of these controllers too!!
Does this come with mouse triggers installed already ?
Yeah the pro version does . The SCUF instinct doesn’t I believe
I've had two scufs and they've always had really bad reliability issues. Personally, I don't plan on ever buying their products again. (I take good care of my controllers and these have been the only ones to ever fail me)
It's a hit or miss I got one and it has little stick drift. My friend got one and had it bad within a week.
Mine has a little on the left stick , okay other than that. Not got for your friend
My instinct pro broke within a month straight garbage, however my elite is still going strong 2 years
I think you should customize a hypr controler
Might look into that
They need to fix their motherboard so you can overclock it on pc because right now any xbox motherboard is not instant reponse capable
Unfortunately the scuf suffers form the same restrictions as official Xbox controllers. The fixed polling rate of 125Hz, axel dead zones and a response time of 9ms makes this a non starter for most. ESwap or Gambit are much faster offering a 2ms response and better options IMO for competitive play on Xbox. Elite series 2 is even worse with 12ms on average. I returned mine because of the inconsistency in its responsiveness.
I just got drift after 6 month
It straight up just sounds like a more expensive Elite 2 to me.
I broke my paddle on my instinct pro.can i use scuf paddle for elite?
Unfortunately no, there isn’t a way to replace a paddle on the instinct pro as far as I’m aware . I’ll do some research though !!
Almost $200?? I paid 300 something for mine lol
300 ! Where about you from?
Series 2 is all you need
Dunno can I get custom art on it
Yeah , well you can but different faceplates. Some with custom designs. Not sure about designing your own art for it however.
Do they use Dollars in the UK?
Hahah no but I thought I’d use bucks . Felt weird haha
Can you review Aim ps5 controler or nah? It's my favorite controler
Hey how’s it’s going ! I don’t own a PS5, but looking to pick one up. And will definitely check out some controllers
I've had my scuff instinct Pro 3 months. Play destiny 2 about 3 times a week and it has developed horiffic stick drift on the left thumbstick. £200 and its fucked
Oh look, the vantage 3......i mean the instict pro.
Can you overclock this controller? The elite controller only goes to 5ms I need 1ms
Unfortunately no. Maybe check out the Victrix Gambit ??
@@Gavlaaar88 damn for real I just ordered one 🤣 I guess I better cancel
This controller gets stick drift faster than the regular ass controllers.
The series 2 is a terrible controller unless you feel like replacing the bumper buttons. I literally had to replace them myself cause the controller started double pressing both sides in less than 2 months of using it. Even if I was to send it to Microsoft for warranty it would just come back again in a couple months and I doubt Microsoft is gonna constantly repair controllers for free. However on the plus side, if you know how to replace the tactile buttons on an elite 2 controller then I guess it’s not to bad.
Me who just bought a elite one controller and found out it sucks can't get a good grip on it with the paddles on
Oh no ! How does it feel with them removed ? More comfortable ?
@@Gavlaaar88 alot better with them off I 3d printed some smaller paddle for it and those are a lot better

I hear the scuff is as unreliable as the elite series 2
I've gone through 2 scuff instinct pros. Both broke right after warranty (6 months)
1st controller:left stick stopped registering
2nd controller: (Y) button no longer works
I've built my own pro controller from extreme rate parts and I've gotten more mileage than both scuffs combined
nothing will justify a 200$ controller. idc if it fed me breakfast too
That would be pretty cool though haha
Somwone please just add hall effect sensors. The fact you pay hundreds for these controllsrs and u dont get it is absurd
The company is living in the dinosaur ages to release a controller at $200 price point without high capacity internal battery. Looks like a beautiful controller, what a shame to ruin it with a bad internal company decision.
Scuf are cheap, fantastic potential, very responsive, but overall the controller is cheaply made, i fucked mine off the ROG controller, it's far more responsive, the only thing is, is the D pad on the ROG, i have my elite 2 controllers, but they aren't compatible with 2042, unlike the ROG controller, the elite 2 bugs out on 2042
Been curious about the Rog, haven’t spoken to anyone with hands on as of yet. So you would recommend ?
@@Gavlaaar88 I would say they are better then the scuf, I've had 2 scufs, I actually have 4elite 2s and I got the ROG, the down side to the ROG is the Dpad, but Im looking to reshape the DPAD so my fat fingers don't catch it, but for customisation, far better then the scuf, doesn't feel so cheap either, joy sticks feel better, both my scufs after few plays the joy sticks started to feel tired, and for £220, not acceptable, i wouldn't even put scuf in the top 10, the best are still the elite 2s, but the ROG definitely up there, maybe with enough people making noise about the DPAD we could get a solution
Is not The Xbox series elite 2 better?
In a number of Areas , like customisation the elite 2 is superior, but for competitive gaming, the scuf takes it. I’ve got a full comparison video on my channel that you can check out if you want . Thanks for commenting !!
I see thank you
Why no mention of input times? These xbox controllers have 8ms latency, whereas a ps5 is 1ms... how can you have a pro controller have 8ms of latency
elite series 2 has better paddles and better everything and its near if not less money
Go with the guilikit and stop thinking
NEAR???? HAHAHAHA
Not worth it. Stick drift is infamous with scuf and I'm not paying $200+ for something that will wear out on me in 6 months.
Normal Xbox Controller 😎
how bad was the stick drift?
On the Scuf , not bad , I’d only really notice it when I stopped moving and I’d see my screen move forward slightly. Although I have my deadzones very low so , raising them slightly would fix that. Was a little worse on the elite , but again was sorted by raising dead zones. I’ve been pretty lucky over all , I’ve not had any problems with my controllers . Going through the comments however I have noticed a fair few that others have had.
Thanks for commenting !
