- "Forest Reptile" is an American science fiction action film directed by John McTiernan, based on a screenplay by brothers Thomas. It was released on June 12, 1987. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers, Elpidia Carrillo, and Jesse Ventura. Filming took place in the jungles of southern Mexico, near Palenque and Puerto Vallarta.
The story follows a group of American mercenaries who encounter an extraterrestrial creature in the jungles of Central America. I had a copy of this movie back in the late 80"s, it was so crisp in color, people would come to my house just to watch it. This is one of Arnolds best films ever made!

When they showed it for one night in Portland, 15 years back, the theater was jam-packed.
But yes, absolutely they should re-release films like this, the Thing, Blade Runner, the OG Red Dawn, Firestarter, the Dead Zone, etc. They'll make money because there are so many kids who have an "idea" of how cool these films and this era was, but don't really know yet. They're wearing the damn shirts, but... It would even be a nice nod to these films, so many of which didn't have a nice stay at the box office in the first place. Let's see how they do the second time around.

傑作ですね。むごいシーンがカットされてますね。その時代でも考慮されているんですが、今の偽善的コンプライアンスに引っかかる。今の人が見ないといけない映画ですね。
初めて観た時私の想像力を超えていました、独創的な発想力にはあの当時興奮した覚えがあります、シュワちゃんが一番カッコ良かった時で頭の弱いマッチョ役のイメージから脱皮した映画ですね～

agree, the movie is 1 hour and 30min long but when you watch it times flies by so fast it looks like a 10 minute movie... its the only movie that made me feel like that, simply one of the best if not the best action movie of all time.

The colors are so cool, the neon greens/dark greens/dark purples/blacks...the jungle/night jungle feel, that whole deep forest motif, if you will. Yes it's very, very cool.
After so many years it is a masterpiece. It keeps you glued to your seat without blinking, the music is something else, wow

Man I HATE IT when YT or ANYTHING online/streaming services related cut out scenes from movies, ESPECIALLY the legendary ones.
Regardless though, I'm still overjoyed that I found this on YT. I really need to go out one day and get the physical copy again (someone stole my VHS copy back in the day, to which I'm STILL furious about) but for now I'm just glad that I can watch this on YT and relive my childhood and excitement from my younger years with the best alien movie, TIED with Aliens, literally ever created!!!

So true, the soundtracks for action movies stand out back then. This soundtrack is by Alan Silvestri. He also did the soundtrack for Back to the Future, Grumpy Old Men, Father of the Bride, Forrest Gump, Contact, Cast Away and plenty more.

This movie is a jewel. Everything is done right, every single line seems to be written for a comic book. It's comforting to know that the woke movie remakers will never develop enough bone structure in the jaw to attempt a bite at this iconic film.

Forest Reptile, Extraterrestrial Chestbuster, and Metal Man from the Future 2 were the big three for me.
Great movie even with the cut scenes. Have seen this movie probably 40 times. I was stationed at Ft Bragg in 1987 in the Army and we all loved it. Tried to find Jim Harper in the Special Forces unit but to no avail he wasn't there. Probably all ready in South America somewhere. 😊
