@@martho3012 Then Nascar on Fox does better job since they have that section ( Crank it up ) where they stay quiet for a few minutes and you only listen to the cars sounds blasting through your speakers 😁 Also in this generation you can already watch multiple channels to check the leaderboards anytime through the whole race just like they do in Le Mans 24h.
It’s not so much the sound itself, it’s just much quieter. The sound itself isn’t as good as the older cars imo, and is a LOT quieter. The 2022 cars are even quieter than 2021. People cheering drowns out the modern cars, whereas the pre 2014 V8s hurt your ears and made them ring.
i was here, the 24, in the gp, and it's so much quieter than the old engine, i hear ferrrari v12 of the Prost f1 car, the last August in the Minardi day at Imola , it's like a thunderstorm come where you are, and the warm up in the box, i don't have things to explain it , for the crowd the sound it's soo important, the GP of Monza and Imola are very boring now without the high pitched sound of a natural aspirated engine.
@@CTcuber4K I think because the exhaust was changed. Last year there was the exhaust pipe for the engine, and also 1-3 separate smaller pipes for the turbo. In 2014-2015 the turbo wastegate connected back into the main exhaust pipe muffling the sound slightly. They changed this due to fans being unhappy with the noise, that’s why you would see the smaller pipes next to the exhaust previously. This year they have decided to go back to the system of the wastegate connecting to the main exhaust, and you can notice there is now only 1 pipe again. I think they did this due to the wastegate pipes providing minimal potential for increased aero, which meant some teams were designing the rear of the car and the exhausts to get an aerodynamic boost which was unintentional. So I guess instead of bothering with enforcing some rules about that they have just brought back the old exhausts. The 2022 cars are noticeable quieter compared to last years IRL.
@@Tigerbear62 i figured you'd say that, maybe i'm wrong but i thought that would only affect the open wastegate noise, since gases are only flowing through there when the wastegate opens. This year you can obviously still hear the ferrari wastegates as the pipe connects quite close to the end of the exhaust, but i'd assume when the waste gates are closed they are no louder or queiter than last year. I've obviously not heard these cars IRL yet, and i never heard the 2014 and 15 cars, but if they are quieter i would love to know how that works because it seems counter intuitive that even when the waste gates are closed it still is quieter Edit: maybe its because those teams using it for aerodynamic gains were letting exhaust gases flow through the waste gate much more often.
@@alchemist2048 I don't watch Formula 1 oh, but I can always tell just by listening if my guys are up in wec or imsa. Whether driving style and the sound. However, my ears are tuned to the engine sounds because I'm on a pit crew
Yes! Just yesterday I was thinking when you'd upload the new cars here, so this is nice! Btw I've probably watched more than 200 videos now, keep 'em coming 👏
Thanks a lot for your support, dude! Regarding these new gen cars, honestly I wasn't much confident I would have been able to record them this year honestly. Glad I was wrong 😅
A video as beautiful as the Alfa Sauber :) The speed looks just incredible in your footage in comparison to the "official TV footage". But Sebastian Vettel did a bad job...still so much rubbish on the grandstands after the race weekend ;) But jokes aside, I hope you have enjoied the F1 weekend :) Thank you for sharing this test with us!
Thanks a lot! I'm 100% sure their audio recording equipment is way way better than mine but probably the fact they have to broadcast the race in a certain way (switching from corner to corner immediately, without allowing you to hear the car moving away in the distance) could be a disadvantage. Then of course you have commentators who have the audio prority over track-side microphones. While editing my videos of course I slightly enhance some audio frequencies (more due to the limited capabilities of my microphone, than to "fake" the sound), but that's something they also do while broadcasting
how you are able to get in, its crazy...? on the hungaroring we are completly closed out from the occasional tests, policemen dont even let you get close to the fence. BTW with all the garbage still one of the most beautiful tracks, these lush rolling green hills, the beautiful trees, the natural organic outline, italian sunshine... no wonder, italians always had an eye for beauty. hungaroring looks like a prairie with barbed wire lol
Shame to hear that.. Here in Italy it depends a lot from track to track. Imola is probably the less supervised since it winds around a public park and some public roads too. Monza is also pretty accessible but during very private tests they can easily put security all around the track and you can't get even closer to a single fence, like what you described to me
Honda engine sounds amazing, this thing sounds old school. But here AlphaTauri was running with a low engine mode with the cylinder cut disabled, therefore less crackles, pops and bangs. I was at Barcelona this year and can confirm that the Honda sound is awesome at full power. For anyone wondering how it sounds at full power: ua-cam.com/video/XzwTw87PCVA/v-deo.html Anyway, sounds good still
Bellissime e spettacolari immagini come sempre. Ho una domanda per i più esperti però: il sibilo che si sente sull'Alpha Tauri soprattutto è il motore elettrico, il gruppo cambio differenziale, la turbina o sono fruscii aerodinamici?
Grazie mille per il commento, come sempre. Bella domanda, me lo chiedo sempre anch'io. Mi dà l'idea di essere qualcosa relativo alla parte elettrica del motore ma è solo una mia supposizione. Data la particolarità e complessità della PU, potrebbe essere anche un'insieme di turbina+motore elettrico
Nice work 👌 I was at the Melbourne F1. Your video sounds exactly like the real thing. They're really quiet cars except full send at high speed. I'm wishing Sainz some better luck and Zhao some higher placing. Do you think the tyres are playing a decent part with the bouncing or the ground effects on the suspension?
how loud we're they on full throttle?is it enough sometimes for your ears to hurt?because I seen some people saying that the merc engines particularly sometimes are loud enough to the point of hurting in the ears again
@@rai2u I think most race cars (barring formula E obv) are like that. If I'm not wrong every one in the garage wears ear plugs because its just raw exhaust noise.
@@rai2u I would say some people might find the frequency uncomfortable. Compared to the Australian V8 Supercars they're definitely not loud. You need ear plugs for them!
I was at Agp on the outside of the apex of the new turn 11, and when they powered out of there at full speed, it was JUST.... On the cusp of needing earplugs.
Generally it's because the ERS (Energy Recovery System) is harvesting unused kinetic and thermal energy. When the system is running it causes the car to be slightly slower than normal and so the flashing red light at the back serves to warn other drivers that the car ahead is moving at a relatively slower pace than usual
These angles give better sense of speed than TV cameras. The long continuous shot at 0:58 is great.
Yeah, and that is my problem with other racing series as well. When you watching WEC, or GT World Challenge it is even worse.
This is better than skysports as it does the sound more justice with no commentary!
According to Skysports: "The viewers wants to listen more to commentators than the sound of cars." (just IMO)
They actually sound great in person now.... Only taken them 6 years....
Was great at AusGP.
