    Let me know if you agree with me on how the Highwayman should be used or let me know your own thoughts on the new tanks.

      Bear in mind you only got the sub system damage after firing a significant amount into his rear like I’m pretty sure you where tracked before you did any sub system damage lol

      I think you are very close, but after having practiced with several HWMs to test a theory this war, I have come to the conclusion that the Highwayman requires abandoning all current principles to Foxhole tanking. To effectively play the HWM you and your crew must all be on the same page; ready to sacrifice your lives and the tank on the drop of a dime the moment opportunity strikes. The tank’s gun excels when it can get high pens, and the best way to get high pens is to engage your victim at 5m range or less, hugging them like a suicide vest (as that’s basically what you are doing).
      Worst case scenario, you die after killing the tank you are focusing. In the best case scenario, you survive, and your tank line capitalizes on your suicidal maneuver and score several kills.
      These are just my observations though. A lot of the HWMs potential power comes from its ability to completely shock the enemy tank line, by performing maneuvers so suicidal they don’t know how to properly react. It requires your commander to spot the perfect time to rush the enemy tank line, or to pick off a lone tank that can’t get to safety quick enough.
      That is how we used our HWMs, and on our last tank, we had lost 80% of our Armor HP, had killed 3 tanks, and scored ~9 assisted kills pumping an extra 30-50% damage on the targeted tank. We ended the night charging a lone fresh-armor MPT that had just entered the region, and killed it before subsequently dying to sticky rushers that were fed up with our charges.

    Those two tanks i think is first time that i thought "Do we really need them?". Like we in FSL (colonials) tested them out and found that they are pretty bad for endgame foxhole, they are more for mid game support/QRF vehicles. Colonial one is just glorifed bunker buster with anti infintry capable machine gun while warden one is flanking/QRF/partisan vehicle (that last one is questionable, stole one and tryed partisaning with it - and bearly destroyed 4 trucks).

      Yeah the HIghwayman is almost always going to die if it engages, maybe the devs will tweak them in the future.

      The other part of me know it's useless because Wardens just do not need it, their tank roster is great already

    Let me make something very clear. For the price of ONE Highwayman, you can build THREE Bonewagons, AKA Gravekeepers. With over 30 rmats leftover to make a pushgun. And this is disregarding the MPF bonus, this is all garage.
    Bonewagons which, by the way, would have absolutely murdered that Falchion from behind the RG garrisons, as their weapon is indirect AT and would go over the obstacles. There is absolutely no economic reason to make this tank for the purpose of flank 'n spank tactics.

    Both tanks are more of support tanks that need others to main line for them whether its for Bunker Busting or Tank Crippling. They both have a role but they should not be a main front liner

    with its low lethality but high crit damage it would also be perfect to disable and steal single tanks in transit. Biggest problem would be the bmats you need to haul to repair the tank after having disabled it and the gas grenades you need to decrew it without killing it.

    My lads in the NRC tried the flank spank crit and run while working with one of our silverhands and another regi silverhand it did ok but most cases or not we found just having another silverhand was just better then having it paired with the silverhands ya sure sometimes you get lucky crits that basically kill the enemy tank but most cases your too close and to weak to be there and either end up dead or needing to be saved the skill floor the tank is ever so high plus the cost tacked onto it at 170 RM just makes it little reason to exist when you can use the same RM to build a silverhand

      @@eMantheman14 Me personally I feel the tank should be removed from the game or some big buffs to the tank happens of which will make it unbalanced and or unfair for collie tankers
      It's a tank that just doesn't fit into the game meta when it's unlocked
      It's kinda like in ww2 it was useless to build a heavy slow infantry support vehicle in 1944 it would never see use as it will either die and or be a burden to logistics
      This tank sits at a similar position where its costly doesn't have the best reverse speed has poor to low armor very short range guns doesn't have the damage potential and or traits special enough to make due reason for its existence and the job its meant to do is already filled with a better cheaper more adaptable platform that just works for the warfare its in that being the Outlaw. The Outlaw does everything the HWM does but better. This to me in game lore reasons is like the company that made the HWM payed off some military officials to make them choose this tank just so they would buy it only for now to show its terrible and now either the company gets full blame or the officials allowed this terrible tank to be made to be punished

    The problem with the subsystem damaging as support is that all subsystems get repaired the moment you reach full HP, you know the one thing HWM is worst at reducing... so you get turreted, pull back, spend 10 seconds hammering and you can return. If you could follow up with enough tanks to kill the turreted tank right there from some 85% HP you'd not even need to rely on this HWM, I would much rather have an Outlaw on a flank taking side shots that actually cause damage as well as occasional subsystem hits. And Falchion is the worst collie tank to begin with, HWM has no business fighting Bardiche or Quadiche which are the main tank arsenal of collies now.

    • @jhibbert6627
      @jhibbert6627 2 роки тому

      And that, is why team work is key. Disabled subsystems are a death sentence if the enemy team follows up and finishes you off before you can repair.

  • @peoplearestrange

    Seems like that could work well like that! The system damage is good and if you can get away then sweet! This is why the colonial ATAC never gets used. It doesnt have the damage to kill, but it also can't run away and is shit offroad.
    I like the idea that the highwayman is a support tank for other tanks. You do some good structure damage and kill any infantry running at your tank line. But you need to stick to the flanks to do so, which does leave you a little vulnerable though.

    • @eMantheman14
      @eMantheman14  2 роки тому

      Thats true! the ATAC has to stick to roads and cant flank. It is risky to flank with the HWM so you need a commander to lookout for you. I tried it again with a crew of 3 and we did much better!

    yes and no, you need to utilize the commander hatch for its full effect, on top of that it takes alot of skill and know how on what to do and where. Its why we call it the skill issue tank. Vet crews are pretty much the only people who know how to use them effectively.

      I have 600 hrs in game, around 400 hours have been in some sort of fighting vehcle or another. I have built 5 of these things so far, and have yet to kill a single tank. This is with equally experinced crew members btw. At one point we even had anouther highwayman with us, (back when they first came out and everyone was using them) and lost the 2v1 vs a spatha. These thing arnt tanks, there infantry fighting vehicles, and they stop being good at that after 2 days once the collies tec the bane(which outranges you and disables you in 3 hits.

      @@steelcommander9918 Thats why we call it the skill issue tank. You should do some infantry work. Having a deeper understanding of combat flow is important. If you want an easier time using anything really, but use the hwm as a partisan vic or just hit and run (poke). No amount of training I give or tips I give will help you. Hours and rank in this game mean little, but to me mean nothing. Dont use the hwm.

If your going to poke, might as well just use a outlaw, it has more range and damage. If your using it for partisan your just wasting bmats at that point.. If your really using so effectively, drop proof,, otherwise im just assuming your anouther SSrg with no clue what he's talking about
