The solution is simple start a farmer's coop you all put a minimal amount into the coop and loan among yourselves. Cut the greedy banks out of the equation. Problem solved.
The banks are " daughters companies " from banks outside the continent. I think every country should have a bank which cater for the indigenous peoples. The copy and paste should slowly come to an end.

There's also a group called kiva who make low interest loans to people or groups with limited financial resources. It's worth checking them out.
Preferably Ugandan farmers need an agri based bank,not mere commercial banks!!
