Al - Pha two syllables vs Ay at 1. Generally we make things shorter not longer for normal use. We all know it's an Alpha but we've been saying Ay for years.
What would be great is some metrics on how much better the autofocus system is compared to the 1st generation of the A9 (with all the latest firmware). I'll be interested in hearing how well the A9ii deals with birds in flight. And I'm not talking big, slow birds, but something smaller and quicker.
Here's the deal, because some folks got so confused..The Sony A9ii had a bunch of enhancements which will work for some, and not others. As for if they will be sold, there's no logical reason for them not to sell, since it's still the same price,$4500,while the A9,has been discounted.I have no idea why that;s confusing, yet at the same time, many people have no common sense for critical thinking skills.Basically, you refine what is already there, keep the price the same, and then discount the original, for those who might not need the upgrades of the Sony A9ii...Cars are sold in the same exact way.The 2018 X car will sell for $35k,while the newer 2019 X car, which has some upgrades, sells for $45k,which the 2018 used to cost..
any pointers as to why the A9II EVF would show so many artifacts ( purple blue moire ) and has so little resolution especially while half pressing the shutter ?
@@karlbratby4349 Thanks, handy for me too, I'm currently considering buying an a9II. :) Can you pinpoint any particular things you didn't like about it?
Great, nice, informative review. I shoot Panasonic Lumix G9 series and their cameras. The great focus capability of this Sony camera is exteremely impressive. Thank you for sharing all this information. Small camera with large lenses. WOW! I tried to move away frpm those heavy long lenses with Micro 4/3rds. What's next? Thank you.
The D850 is closer in terms of performance. For my money I think the A9 II is probably the strongest of the three, but if you prefer Nikon the D850 is fantastic for high performance shooting as well.
No need for a Sony A9 Mark II in case you have a Mark I already. Prediction: as long as the Mark I is delivered, the sales numbers of the Mark II will be low. Sony, the new CANIKON?
Kketansa Art Yes, absolutely. Actually that was a criticism before, that Sony does bring out firmware updates with increase in features and functions. But what they did wig the firmware updates on the A9 was simply outstanding. It also shows the A9 at time of release was clearly ahead of everything the competition had to offer. Well done, Sony.
Not really. Though the a6400 is a good camera. It doesn't even have IBIS and the crop factor really changes the depth of field. Not to mention high ISO performance and autofocus.
@@DarkstarDarth sure. If that's the glass you already have..... Great image quality for weight ratio..... The fast Fuji glass is some of the best, if not the best crop lens glass.... Full frame has some real advantages though..... Especially if low light and shallow depth of field are big factors for a photographer with their shooting style. (Or higher resolution images)
@@Stefan1968ful they are.... But man are they dragging their heels on video for one. It's still a pretty minor update. Being as the target market is pretty nich on this camera. Not much of a reason to upgrade. True that Sony is way ahead of the game..... For now.
This update is just wrong for cameras! Yes, you need to carry more batteries but the total weight of all batteries to shoot the same time is basically identical to a DSLR. Only difference is that you dont hold more battery weight in your hands than you need. Relax your ankles and carry extra batteries in you ocket, if you feel like it. I can easily shoot a day on 2 batteries, intensive shooting might need four but 8 for sure fit in my left pocket. (Dont like the a9 II though, mirrorless is the way to go though.)
@@karim1485 I don't think so. I didn't weigh them, but the battery for the a9 is roughly the same weight as Canikon batteries, but the Sony drains very quickly in comparison.
It is not worth to upgrade Camera and just only for sports photographer. Was looking at A7iv, but A9ii (secondhand) is looking more and more interesting
Maybe a silly question to some but does the a9ll have the permanent glowing AF point upgrade that the A7R4 has, can’t seem to find that info anywhere
Hmmm... Looks like you aren't finding that info here either. Pity, I would also like to know.

My pleasure Joel, glad you enjoyed the video
Can you do a video on how you foiled the plot of the wet bandits to rob your home that faithful Christmas Eve??
I already did a full movie about that bro ;)
What about nikon d850 and z7, is it worse than sony a9? I am planing to to get one of them since i am not sony fan.

I don’t need to. I switched to Sony 4 years ago and shoot with primes, changing lenses all the time. Zero issues if you know what you’re doing.
there's less than normal, most of the time, you use the E-shutter, no moving parts.
