I watched to the end bc i just went through a similar round. We just got a new course that is over 10k ft and all wooded with tight lines and a par 68. Most difficult course in Minnesota..
I threw a +8 on my first round then a +12 and then last week I hit +23.. nothing was going right, putting driving and everything in between. I feel your pain Hunter. I feel it. 😢
I always play best the first time I play a course. It then gets worse for the next 2 or 3 rounds. It's that "I gotta get just a little bit farther and I'll have a birdie look" thinking that gets you. I changed my whole way of thinking last year and now I've played to par on 74% of the holes in my last 9 tournament rounds... and 1 under par total. I decided playing for par is smart and the birdies will happen when they happen.

I think foundation is accidentally recording an in depth look into mental game which is a full roller coaster ride every round. I think it’s a trend that every round at some point hunter breaks and starts talking negative about himself/shot… Maybe the next round is a positive mindset focusing on letting go, trusting the disc, and believing in the process. Idk just a thought I appreciate all the outstanding work that this company is doing for the community! ✌️
that's what this was for me. a great representation on how much your head plays a role in this sport. You can have the greatest arm in the world but if ya cant keep your cool you are donezo.
No doubt...fully capable of shooting this. Some holes have him mindfu...and theres no shot out there that Hunter isnt capable of. Its a ride on the tempo trail...all it takes is a couple trees and a grip lock and its over. Love Hunter, love the series....love to see this come to fruition. Also, need a new caddy.
Hunter, my suggestion for you.....watch all of your 'Break 68 Challenge' videos. Find the best version of each hole. List what discs you threw, what shot type, and where you were aiming. Take those notes/discs to the course for the next challenge, stick to the notes, and see what the outcome is.
This! Just curious ... Hunter if you matched your personal best on each hole, what score would you get?
A better idea, do the above,then cut/edit-all the best holes together, there you go a 68, kinda

I just kept watching because we've all had those days I think and it's just nice to know I'm not alone.
I understand the feeling all to well. I have focused so much on timing and nose angles this year. I will step up to the first teepad at my local course, it will be parked. Then the rest of the round I will hit every tree. I have most thrown my entire bag in the water on 2 different occasions.
After this video, I want to see you three to do a back off challenge.

Yep……this is the FUNNIEST video I have watched in a looong time!……this just shows ya that in disc golf/golf that we ALL have our ups and downs! Sometimes that durn disc just does NOT fly the way it did yesterday!

Love the series. I think disc golf is such a thrill challenging yourself. I'm no pro but i feel like it shooting par or better on my local courses lol
Do a 150g only challenge!
Nope! I did that at the Wintertime Open in '96. I was tied with Stevie Rico after 2 rounds at 8 under in MPO. I then did exactly what Hunter just did and shot 33 over par. The worst meltdown of my career. I still have flashbacks. 150-class PTSD is REAL.
That disc flip on the drive was sick! I barely noticed it was so smooth. Frame by frame is sweet. 16:03

I was really invested in seeing Hunter make his goal by the end of the year, but after this round, I've totally gotten what I needed. 100% raw entertainment. Best series in the history of filmmaking.

New London will be an excellent Worlds course. Holes 6, 7, and 17 to name a few will definitely be the scoring separation holes.

On hole 6, as Hunter was explaining his approach, I was hoping he then wouldn't do the same thing I did. I played hole 6 and I don't have a lot of arm speed, so I disc'd up to a driver and threw it straight at the tree he mentions. However, it was one of those moments where I actually got a good throw off and it went dead straight at the tree, landed just short, and then slid up to the trunk of the tree, which was just out of bounds long. Truth be told though ... it usually takes me 2 throws to get to that point, so I guess it was still a win (although I promptly threw into the trees on the left side of the fairway for my next shot).
My buddy took an 11 on a Par 3 with 2 water ob strokes 🤣 I couldn't hold my laugh in after the 2nd ob and that made Him even more visually mad 🤣

I have a tough course nearby which I have never managed to play to even par. Every time I go there with high hopes but always manage to find some way to mess things up. I know that in a good day I can do it but I just consistently suck. This sport can really drive you mad.
Gotta love those rounds when you walk off saying ill never play again…why do i play…this is stupid…i suck…couple days later your good to go. Embrace the suck…lol.

Hole 18 definitely gives me idea for a future video, I think you guys should set a time limit for a specific course. Lowest score win. Each min under time limit subtract a stroke, or add a stroke over time limit.

Hunter putting out on 18 gave me a video idea: The “Never stop moving” challenge. Essentially, after your drive you have to run to your lie and can’t quit moving, while picking up your disc and advancing down the fairway. Pick a time goal & if y’all beat that line, you take off a certain amount of strokes. Best man wins.
The wheels fell off when you abandoned the plan and threw that forehand trying to go more right than you use to. Stick to the plan!!!!! Still a great video

Oof that was hard to watch. I had a round like that on Friday, just couldn’t get off the trees. If I could make one recommendation, and maybe this happened off camera, sit down and take a break after the +4 on 6 and just reset. At the end of the day we all have bad days. Next round is guaranteed to be better

We have a alt 9 course that's long and wooded and some days it feels awesome and other's, well.... find solace in that awesome start and bring that to next month. Put it all together bro.
