Probably one of the most potent and relevant conversations I’ve witnessed so far.. really progressing the liminal web discourse and the meta-discourse about common blindspots of the liminal web. I salute you.
Thanks@@O.G.Rose.Michelle.and.Daniel ! I recently went on a silent retreat, it was cause for concern from my friends in church and cause for interest for friends not in church... I attempted to reflect on some of those dynamics... Your conversation above really helped 🙏
Halfway through this and I'm intrigued. Cadell's point about embodiment is on point. We only think of embodiment as meditation ect. (this is the hippies fault). We leave out sex, violence ect. Also the return of the religious is something I barely hear given real thought these days. It's either embraced almost desperately or snobbishly rejected. Very interesting stuff lads
@@gregorywilson1329 There's certainly a place for that, even in Dante, when Eros reaches into Beauty, but only if Eros doesn't disown the body. It's a tricky balance, and thanks for listening!
being saved in 1971 in a premillennial pretribulational church, moving through Southern Baptist Seminary, Candler School of Theology and Columbia at Decatur GA. 40 years later-theology-you hear the suffering , comfort the suffering, and stop the sources of the suffering. All this is pre language. When being earth the body informs. All care moving toward life is body informed.
religious belief systems born during cultural trauma Calvinism and Unitarianism for example can carry long terms symptoms just like and individual. For example where ever Calvinism went women paid a price. That is a long term trauma symptom repeating. Let's call that addictive process founded on a dissociative theology. ( original sin how is that different from I am no good and need an external object to save me, love me, make me real)? Negative self belief core of the addictive economic and cultural way of life. So- I would like to hear some understanding that non addictive perspectives (within the addictive ocean, a bubble the best we can) engaging with a dissociative theology is a thing and non addictive perspectives engaging with more grounded responses to cultural trauma- Polish Brethren freedom of assembly, religious tolerance during the reformation, healthier responses beside burning to obedience. So to original sin- no- there is no merger - to the trinity no- there is no fragmented dissociated center- the dominance of the trinity was born in violence- so no nothing in my family systems, object relations, clinical theological training says dance with the devil to find good (not the as working on shadow issues)- no-don't go into that bar- if a symbol is born out of violence , trauma we must travel before it not honor and invite it in as if the dissociative feature is integrated.

Appreciate that York, means a lot that you would say so! Cadell rocks.
The more unpredictable the world becomes, the more we need something outside of it to believe in.

I would like to recommend the video essay on Dune vs Star Wars by Formscapes, I think it bears some deep resonance with the work of O.G.Rose.
I'll have to check that out! Thanks York, I wasn't even familiar with Formscapes but looks like a stunning channel.
