Rock of Heltah Skeltah fame sat down with VladTV about getting his start in the rap world and joining the Decepticons when he was in high school with Sean Price. He explained that while he doesn't promote gangbanging, he does promote gangs, as Rock pointed out that gangs come in many forms, including the police.
During the conversation, Rock spoke about the Decepticons using hammers and other tools as weapons and getting locked up for a robbery he didn't actually commit in 1992. To hear more about that and why Rock says Sean Price was crazier than him, hit the above clip. - Розваги

So what Vlad...you cant afford shit but a chair these days? Didn’t that lawsuit against Rick Ross net you enough for a fuckin couch? Maybe it’s to complete the whole government questioning aesthetic? Regardless, you suck and your stirring up drama ways are wack as fuck.
Nocturnal. Classic album

I still get dressed to it every day 💯
Salute to Rock and RIP to Ruck... I don't think that a lot of people realize how much of a loss it was to hip hop when Sean passed. Maybe us "older heads" (when I say that I'm referring to anyone born before the 90's) understand, but the strength of his presence in hip hop seems lost on a lot of people. Anyway, salute to the whole Duck Down / BCC & it's affiliates
Jame 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
chocobonita It's good to hear that, especially with the more non commercial / underground music and artists. Good music is good music, and any real fan of hip hop (or really just music in general) should be able to appreciate that. We have too many older dudes knocking the younger generation's music without even listening to it, and the same can be said the other way around. We all just need to keep our ears to the ground and be open to both new and older music, regardless of who makes / made it and when it came out.
chocobonita I agree with everything that you've said in your last comment. As far as the older dudes trying to adjust to the newer stuff, it works sometimes, but more often than not it just doesn't sound right. It sounds forced a lotta the time. There are some gems out there from older dudes conforming, to a degree, but for the most part they should just stick to what sounds best. When you close yourself off to a certain time period or style and won't give something else a try, you're just cheating yourself. While I prefer stuff more along the line of that 90's boom bap, I do hear some new stuff that I love. We never stop evolving and learning, and anyone who says different is just cheating themselves and setting a poor example to the younger generations. I could go on and on, but I'm pretty sure that we're both on the same page. It would be cool to chop it up some more with you, but again, the comment section of UA-cam isn't the place for "good conversation / dialogue". You seem to have a good head on your shoulders and hopefully you can open the eyes and ears of some of your peers. Salute
Jame rip ruck ‘ big salute to rock!
Ricky Taylor that's what I'm saying. What a huge loss his passing was. He was about as nice with the word play as they come. At least Ruck and Rock came back together before he passed. Look at all of the people who wish that they coulda done the same with Pac, Eazy, Big, etc... We need to stop celebrating people's lives only after they die. You see that shit happening all the damn time and it's like "where the hell were y'all when he was alive!?"
Still got my Heltah skeltah cassette tape
LEFLAH ESKOSHKA!!! One of my favorite Rap songs ever.
Word!!!!!! Instant Classic
Fire
has to be place to be for me!!!
Bout fuckin time!! Heltah Skeltah is still one of the best duos in hip hop! Rock wit that deep robotic voice like the crypt keeper. Maybe Havoc of Mobb Deep n Rock could link and form a new duo... both lost their partners and still spit fire... I'm reaching but it could happen
MoScO Kidd You never know yo
Rock said there wouldn't be a new duo for him..
Yo, that`s a dope idea tho.
MoScO Kidd they both lost a P.
How about at least a song in tribute to the two P's with both Havok and Rock.
Heltah Skeltah and M.O.P my two favorite groups
Fax...Legends timeless music
Sean is the man, and I’m doing all that I can, when I rhyme feel like the world is in the palm of my hand
Time for Rock to carry that Duck Down torch. It's never too late.
Joe Mack their time has came and went. Atleast he can do some oversea shows though
@@coredrummond1913 Fr it’s honestly apart of life we all have our prime days and once them days are gone all we can do is reminisce
Well I see it like this
Blues artist still made songs in their older age .... Rap artist can still keep making music just as long as they keep it real with no gimmicks ....
Soul Music only
I agree Nas still has something to say
IT WENT DOWN LIKE THIS!
Joshuas Pops "one liddle nigga snuck through the door peeped the scene sniped a few then crept through wid 2 more..." AHH 🔥🔥🔥🔥 damn that shit was fire!
Marco Hall
It went down like this. One lill snuck through the door

I love his storytelling on The Decepticons. All facts, the kids that started it were super smart from Brooklyn Tech but psychopaths. Salute to the specialized high schools in NY. LaGuardia, Graphics & Design, Bronx Science, Stuyvesant 💪🏾.
Rock is so underrated, he would probably lyrical destroy your top 5 favorite rapper dead or alive🤔

"IM NOT SURE ANYMORE, WHO IS KNOCIN AT MY DOOR"
Maurice Riddick All the people that i know, acting funny when big Ruck got some looot haha. Good shit.
THE WAY THAT BEAT COMES IN IS HARD. BCC WAS A HEAVY INFLUENCE ON MY TEEN YEARS
Maurice Riddick Shit, same here. BCC had me soldiered out too. I always had something from them on my person. Banging out my eardrums off my walkman. Ha
HOPE YOU DIDNT HAVE THE JAWN WITH NO REWIND BUTTON LOL. HAVING TO FLIP THE TAPE TO HEAR THE DOPE PART AGAIN LOL
Maurice Riddick Maannnnn, sometimes. Lol. I had to replace walkmans often. Sometimes I had to resort for the cheap shit haha. Yo I forgot about that automatic side switch and not having it being a pain in the ass. You got me crackin up fam. Yo you from Philly ain't you??
The fact that you got Rock on this shit is beyond 🔥 Salute 2 u Vlad 💯
Rock is a fuckin beast! #Legend
One of the more overlooked MC veterans that stays in his own lane, style etc. *no commercial frilly shit, with Boot Camp etc, nothing but respect! also one of the coolest, recognizable voices in all of Hip-Hop! *also RIP Ruck/Sean P, Heltah Skeltah lps still get heavy rotation from me.
This man is a mothafuckin legend, Heltah Skeltah and whole BCC fam is one the reasons 90's NY rap was as hard and not to be fucked wit, I always thought of them more or less on the same level as Wu-Tang in terms of power, raw talent and influence even tho Wu made a bigger commercial impact, but real rap fans (and I mean real as in ppl who actually love the music, not follow cuz it's a trend) listened to every single song from both groups and followed everything about these dudes.
RIP Sean Price and long live Rockness Monsta and the whole BCC!
He’s the coolest person in the world 💯
Nina La Bella u are gorgeous
@@charleswilliams635Re-lax 😆

it doesn't matter if I'm dead, sober or I'm bent
it's strange, I'm not insane or at least I don't think so
or am I? You think so Doc, truthfully I don't know
so what do I do, I go to my crew and ask for help
but they ain't no help, they go through the same shit they damn self ... " Heltah Skeltah - Therapy
MAGNUM FORCE MUH-HUH-FUCKAZ!..SALUTE.

I remember Decepts growin up in Brooklyn
Qaasim Ibn Jean-Paul same hear fam I'm 38 my moms and pops rolled with Harlem decpts
Decepts morning as big even when I joined the bloods in 94 it was crazy back then.
We chose Hammers for weapons. Medieval shit.
Korance Bland Word. Up close and personal.
“We loved the ***** walking around with hedge clippers or somethin” is an all time savage line.
I love how Rock isn't dumb like these youngsters and telling all his business, and then get locked up for it. My man said he doesn't know the statue of limitations on some of those things they did, so he's just not going to get into it LOL.
We need more!
Now this is a good one Vlad, cant wait to see the other parts of this interview
Quite possibly one if the best sounding rap voices of all time.
Rockness AP goes hard 🔥🔥🔥🔥
His knowledge of the decepticons is facts. The "smart" dudes were friends of mine from Brooklyn tech in the 80s
Can't wait until the next part
Heltah Skeltah, my favorite Rap duo of all-time. It's nice to hear Rucks testimony.
Anybody born in 1990 and up know this guy?

Hedge clippers!!!😂😂😂
✂️
The song they did with the dogg pound on their second album was my shit. Rock killed that shit too.
"I be rollin around with some piff and a pound who wanna get lifted and grounded and kicked when they're down." Rock
Rock washed EVERYONE on clans and crooks.. "Take ya French vanilla, butter, ya pecans , ice and ya cream"
one of the only rappers from back in the day that transitioned his sound to modern rap and kept progressing. imo one of the best to spit bars
Never judge a book by it's cover. He has knowledge. Rock.
Legendary group RIP Sean P ❤️
This interview should of went on for atleast another 2 hours. I miss old skool NYC. That's exactly how it was. My mom would always ask, why are there missing kitchen knives?! I used to carry my dad's old military police baton in a mini green duffle bag, be on rooftops with it like, "THUNDER! THUNDER! THUNDERCATS HOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" One time the NYPD saw me do that silly shit and kicked open the rooftop doors and some how didn't catch a single one of us, and we were like 30 deep, LMFAO!
Funny thing though, Rock really did break it down. It's just how it was back then. We weren't all braindead thugs back then. Yes we were in gangs, we did our thing, but most of us were in school, went on to college and found careers - some even became professors, lawyers, doctors, shit even acupuncturists with their own offices. We were intelligent, but still street. And it wasn't even about the money but about brother/sisterhood, family outside of family. Then one day you wake up and realize its all the past and you walk right passed people who at one point were trying to shoot you dead, and you just smile and tip your hat to thier kids and wifys and keep walking to do your thing in streets that for you used to be a warzone. Old school New York.
True a lot of smart black men are locked up due to their environment
Boot Camp are the best hip-hop shows I've ever seen. They come to shows deep! R.I.P Shawn Price!
boot camp such a dope crew all the elements that made it up smif n wesson, heltah skelter, ogc, buckshot all nice....RIP sean price.
Legend!
this sound so simple what I'm about to say Vlad is a good interviewer because he lets you finish talking before he ask another question
Not a fan of the questions, but thats a great point, Flex could learn something here
To be honest, I'm surprised it happened. I remember I stopped watching his interviews because he would constantly finish people's sentences for them. Lol. This surprised me big-time.
beatswork that's a goddam lie. Vlad usually cuts people off with his stupid comments. He just so happen to do it this time.
"Thats a white boy question" Lol. Finally someone let that be known.
IGNORANT!
Waiting for part 2. It's been a week Vlad! What's the hold up?
Great interview,btw....

"Fuck Batman & robin I'm robin wit a batman"
"I walk around town wit the pound strapped down to ma side no frontin just in case I gotta smoke somethin" GOOD Old DAYS MANNN!! R.i.p Sean p!!!
His speaking voice is exactly like his rap voice. The same is true of Method Man and Sean P.
I saw Heltah Skeltah and the whole damn BCC at club UNITY in LA (a bowling alley in Lynwood to be exact) rock the best damn hip hop performance ever. This was circa 1998 or so. Show was unbelievable. Artifacts were there too.
Shout out to Brooklyn Tech, Class of '93 💥💥💥💥
For a decades, Brooklyn Tech was top 3 high schools in NYC.
Bronx Science, Brooklyn Tech, Stuyvesant
Great interview, Rock..., many similarities!
