Really miss Frontierland being in Morecambe, I'm also old enough to remember the other fairground which was at the back of the Winter Gardens and closed at the end of 1986!
Spent almost every summer here from 1980 to 1992. Loved every year and it never got boring, just such a shame its all been torn down. Always vowed if I ever won the lottery I would rebuild it to its former glory.
Brilliant video, thanks for the memories, having lived in Morecambe all my life its such a shame that everything gone from illuminations, bubbles, the piers, wintergardens etc etc all there is now is the cinema and 10 pin bowling, its no wonder everyone looks depressed now
So sad to see it all now. So many happy memories of how life used to be! A more innocent time. The majority of people have become more unfriendly and hostile. When they take away the social aspect (mixing with other people) things go downhill. Nothing really left here now. Really do miss how life was.
went every year back when this was filmed as a child, and I loved it. The local workingmens club used to go every year and the kids got a free wristband and £2 off the them!! lol! We were left to our own vices all day and it was brilliant! Loved the wooden rollacoaster that went through the trees and the wild west funhouse that used to have one of them steep vertical slides.......good memories(now nearly 40) such a shame it's gone. But you just have to look at Southport and Rhyl they are just the same , very depressing.
I'm always saddened when a theme park closes down, and really appreciate it when you guys provide those of us who were never there (or even those who were, and have happy memories) with filmed or videoed memories. So, thanks a heap! I just have to say: the Wild West "shootout" that takes up the second part of this film is so lacklustre! The performers are just walking up to their cue marks and shooting - no pace, no tension, and not even a hint of acting. If all the Frontierland staff were so uninvolved in their roleplaying, then maybe it's easier to understand why the place closed its doors...
Cameron, would love to add an HD copy of this to our film collection of Morecambe. I suspect that you might have heard of me. I give presentations about the heritage and beauty of our area.I am also on the executive committee trying to set up a heritage centre in Morecambe. www.heritagevideoproductions.co.uk If you live in Morecambe why don't you come along to our video club. www.morecambemoviemakers.org.uk? Kind regards Chris Abram
Hi Chris. Of course I've heard of you and of course I'll give you a decent copy of this. I'll put it on a disc and pop it thru your door when I'm in Carnforth next. I've got a few things on with BareFest, ukulele lessons, piano lessons, playing in bands and designing websites but I'd love to get down to one of the club evenings. Wil try and work out one for the future. Cheers and all the best!

The only thing that hasn't gone is drugs in the West End...

Why do you think the people in Morecambe have become rude and rough, what has happened to the decent, friendly people in this video
worked there for 2 seasons, had an absolute blast
Lots of memories there and the older version as well!
It was great, until they turned into some kind of 'Wild West' theme park.
