My daughter used the Japanese from zero books and they are fantastic! She watches some shows in Japanese like Pokémon/ yugioh also to help with it but she is quite fluent in Japanese now. She even met a Japanese woman that commented on how good she is- and that was from that book set.
I am very interested to see how this works out for your daughter. We struggled with the first semester of Apologia Biology but then second semester it either clicked or just was easier material and my son has done amazing! We went with BJU for chem with the kit, I did buy it when they had their sale but it was somewhere around $650!!! Fingers crossed it works better plus they sell a refill kit for the lab kits for future student ( i have 2 younger). Keep us posted!
Second semester went better for us as well, but I don't know if it was because of the content, or the fact that our schedule was a lot better second semester, or the thumb drive that we got. Will definitely keep you posted!
Thank you so much for your videos! We are also a Sonlight family, and I have been wondering about the new 100 spine. I would love for you to do a review video about the new 100 spine in the future. :)
I'm still waiting on the instructor's guides for the new 100, which I don't think will be available until the end of June. My hope is that they release the 3 week sample downloads soon so that I can start to dig into it. And then hopefully I can have some more concrete info to share with you all 😊
Thank you for mentioning Guest Hollow's Chemistry in the kitchen! I have two eighth graders next year doing Chemistry with my 6th grader, and I was feeling like it was a very light curriculum. This will be a great addition!
Looking forward to following your year ahead, especially regarding Chemistry in the Kitchen. I am seriously considering it for my daughter when she is at that level. It will be interesting to hear your opinion on it as you use it. Is your daughter planning on doing science at college level and career? I doubt mine is (more into writing and art) so I was thinking of a less intense/ more practical course would be a better choice.
She has waffled back and forth about wanting to be a vet, and wanting to do graphic design/animation. This summer we plan to deep dive on different types of careers and what is required to get to that point, so hopefully there will be more clarity in the next several months of what she wants to do 😊
Thank you! My mom actually got it from the Paper Store - you wouldn't think of it as a clothing store, but she has gotten me several shirts that I love from there 🤣

That's awesome! Thank you so much for sharing!

It looks like it will be a really fun course!
My 8th grader just started Japanese also! He is using Rosetta Stone and does just 20 minutes/day through their homeschool plan. He loves it!🇯🇵
That's awesome! I didn't realize Rosetta Stone had Japanese. Might have to look into that one!

Completely unrelated, but where did you get your hoodie? It's super cute.
