I have always loved that he has no subtitle, just Ganon.

I think it's a cool detail that whenever you get hit Zelda screams out in fear, old Nintendo games had so much attention to detail that I don't think a lot of games today have it's amazing
yeah I just noticed that after finishing the game for the first time now. it's a really great touch and really makes the fight feel so much more life-and-death
On n64 it was so dark you could only see ganons swords and his glowing eyes, and only a glimpse of him when lightning struck. This remake lacked the atmosphere.

I've always loved that Nintendo was improving on their cinematics even back on the N64. That scene at 5:36 where they add that camera judder to the right as if the force of the guardians was strong enough to move the in game camera.
I remember a time when I was just 8 years old...and this was the only thing that mattered to me. No worries. No stress. Just saving Hyrule.

I think they made the arena too light, kind of ruins the dark atmosphere of the N64 version's finale
Regardless it's still a classic final boss, one of the best in a video game

I agree. I think part of the reason I found him to be intimidating as a boss (aside from the fact that I was a kid when I played this... lol) was the fact that the arena had *just* the right amount of light. It was dark enough that Ganon's figure could only be seen clearly when lightning made it visible... His glowy eyes and dark silhouette is something I remember from the first iteration of the game.

Apparently in the original idea GANON would be gigantic and you'd have to climb up to stab him in a weak point or something like that but it couldn't be done due to the limitations of the n64
Antonio Sanchez and since the 3DS was stronger than the Nintendo 64 in terms of processing power, and slightly stronger for graphics power, it *STILL* couldn’t do what Nintendo originally wanted for this fight against Ganon

Maybe it’s the video upload, but I much prefer the lighting of the N64 version during this fight. Felt much more appropriately sinister with the darkness that’s lacking here

Fun fact- In 3DS version of this Zelda game. When you outside of Ganon's tower after collapse before final boss start. If you look down below in view mode. Those lava pit below is gone.
The original Nintendo 64 version of this Zelda game on other hand, lava pit is still there.

Go into the fight with the bigoron sword, the game defaults you to the master sword during the cutscene so that the master sword gets knocked out of link’s hand, not the bigoron sword
Never noticed how Ganon does this little blink after having a sword stuck to his brain… If I knew how to, I would do a mod that does a cartoon blink sound right there.

How cool would it have been if at 4:40, Nintendo used the sound effect of Fi’s sword glow for this remake. It would’ve made people who played the original game question that sound effect only to play Skyward Sword and connect that sound effect with Fi.

Grezzo just got a contract to remaster this game for Zelda's 40th anniversary in 2016. It will likely be on the Switch and their next generation console (probably Super Nintendo Switch).

This is game is a masterpiece. I just finished it and the credits brought tears to my eyes. Original or Remake, doesn’t matter, it’s still a 10/10 game.
I played the 3ds version first, and I will admit, the light and brightness is toned up WAY too high, I think the light should have been there still, but in smaller amounts so you don’t go blind when lightning strikes

I feel like this version of the fight was toned back because you can damage him a lot quicker compared to the n64 and the dark atmosphere was better in the n64 as well

Well one mod I heard randomized the game and the other replaced dark link with the hero of time and replaced the hero of time with hero of twilight oh and also I heard of a mod for the textures not sure it will help with the lighting maybe when we decompile the game completely we can add stuff to the code like ray tracing
I just hated how easy they made Ganon to fight. I remember being a teen and thinking how the hell am I gonna beat this shit. 😆
OOT 3D was a fantastic remake, so it's a shame that they dropped the ball so hard in this boss battle. As other people pointed out already, it's way too bright. I'd say it's the only part in which the original N64 game looks just WAY better than the remake despite the old hardware limitations.
But like I said, the remake as a whole is top notch, so I don't want to be too harsh on this.

Yes because being stabbed in the head is so much less violent than in the throat, anyway Link stabs him in the head in the original.

I wanted the atmosphere to be dark and gloomy and chaotic. This is just childish compared to the n64 version.

I just cheesed him with the longshot in like, my 10 try. Because apparently you can shoot him in the face with the longshot, and he will fall down after enough shots.
Try rolling under his legs, and then slashing him with your Biggoron's Sword, or use another item and attack him from behind.

They need to remake this game on the switch in HD. The 3ds port just updated the textures like Twilight princess "HD" but wasn't a true remake.
Jorge Gaming It was never a remake it was always a remaster and it wasn't just textures, they redid character models, animations and certain maps to make them much smoother than before. This demand for HD everything is stupid, would rather a new game. The games are playable and fine as they are.
Jorge Gaming I'd say this was a remake, the graphics (not talking about Citra here) were much more detailed and actually had new models, the whole game was given that treatment, and the controls were completely redone and improved too. I'd say TP HD was a remaster as it didn't change very much but this really was a vast improvement imo. Although I agree, I'd love to see OOT HD.

Not really it uses the same animations, gameplay, music, cutscenes, level design etc. that was in the original OOT and just updated it all to look good in the current console era. It is most definitely a remaster. TP was a much more recent game so there isn't a bigger jump in change.
I tried doing a 5 heart run on oot. I didn't finish it because ganon kept killing me :p
Not gonna lie I absolutely the fact that you have hit Ganon's tail...I mean come on the "obvious weak points" ruins the game for me and it takes me out of the immersion when seeing Ganon spinning without him moving
In what remains of the ruins, just Zelda, Link and Navi are left, grinning away at the devastation. Suddenly a loud sound like something falling will resound throughout the empty place. After you regain control of the hero, go investigate. As soon as you get close to the pile of stuff, another scene begins. Fire surrounds the area and Ganondorf flies out of the ruins, rasping hard as he uses the Triforce of Power to transform himself into a hideous pig monster with a pot belly. Once you finally manage to knock him down, Zelda will stun him for a bit, Quickly equip the Master Sword and slash it at Ganon's head, then sit back and enjoy the show. Zelda quickly summons a ball of light and calls upon the Sages to seal the evil beast. At long last, it's just Zelda and Link. She explains that she never intended to "open the door" for Ganondorf to get into the Sacred Realm, or to bring you along for this wild adventure. In order to set things right, you have to give her the Ocarina of Time back and put the Master Sword back in the pedestal of time this seems so sad.
Really Nintendo needs to make their final bosses better in this series if the legend of Zelda
