- In this video we bring you up to speed with the quick progress so far on our U.S.A.C.C Entry. We cover all modifications from the pie sectioned body to the lowered roof line and extended Hood.
There is around 15 minutes of photos at the end of the video to show the hows to's behind the commentary so please stick around to check them out too.
We will continue to update you with this build in much shorter videos in the future, this one is slightly longer due to the rapid progress we have made in the last week with all the extensive body modifications.
We hope you liked the video and if you enjoyed the content please do drop us a sub, it means a great deal and very much appreciated.
Many thanks for watching!

Wow, Pure Exner. It has the same feel as his Mid 60's design studies. I would not have thought it possible to pull something that stylish out of a brick like the 68 Dart. Beautiful, keep up the great work.
@@drakemcginnis8942 Thanks so much for the kind words Drake, it means a great deal and really glad you're enjoying the project and vision so far. Hopefully we'll do it justice once we move it on a bit further 🙂 Many thanks once again 🙂
That is going to be wild. Can't wait to see more. I changed mine up a little, I thought mine was going to be wild.
You are a sick man! (And i mean that in a very good way!) I'm loving it! That frontend is pure genius!
@KitbashedKustoms Hahaha 🤣 thanks Jimmi! I was thinking there was definitely something wrong with me on this one but loving getting back to building a custom again. Really glad you're liking it so far anyways and speak soon buddy 🙂
It’s an interesting challenge… changing a boxy car to have curves. Very bold. I think way beyond most people’s ability. No… not ability, I mean beyond most people’s comfort zone.
I’ll keep watching this with interest.
Cheers John.
Andy.
I guess its mostly a problem of beeing able to imagine it!
@@andyr5579 Hi Andy, thanks for the kind words mate, really do appreciate it 🙂 I think this one is just a bit of a wild card and result of not knowing what else to do with it. I'm always putting myself out of my own comfort zone but with each one it's just another learning experience and glad you're enjoying the journey along the way 🙂 many thanks again mate and speak soon no doubt 🙂
Very imaginative conversion, John 👍😀🤔looks totally different 👍😎
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 Hi Pete, thanks so much mate, really appreciate it 🙂 I think this one is borderline straightjacket work but hopefully it'll all come together in the end 😂 definitely speak soon anyways Pete and happy modelling my friend 🙂
@J.B.Scale.Creations oh I know how you feel. The front end on that looks really futuristic, Space 1999👍😀
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 Haha, I was starting to think the same thing 🤣
Okay, you have my attention JB! Incredible start 👀😎👍
@@theintake8961 Thanks Mike! 🙂 Really hope you join in this year too, you do some absolutely awesome clean builds! Hopefully this one will turn out like I hope and many thanks again 🙂
I do like the theme your going for, a really nice awesome custom car nobody else has. You do inspire me very much . Anybody can build a model car from the box , but they all seem they pretty much look the same , so building a your own custom is better. Great work bub.
@@WalkmanFoster Thanks so much for all the kind words, it really is appreciated and glad you're enjoying the build so far. Regarding your other comments reference the continental trunk/boot styling, I don't know if you noticed in the video but in that bag of parts I selected to potentially use were about 12 different continental spare wheels. It was one of the first things I really wanted to work into the build but still looking for the right part to make it look right if it's to be a go ahead. I think the imperial/continental humps were something Virgil really bought into his production styling and hopefully I'll think of something that will work... Failing that there maybe a luggage rack but still looking at all options and have left space between the newly installed body ridges on the trunk to give me some play room. Really appreciate your feedback and glad an idea that I'm still mulling over is what others would see working with the build. Whatever direction we take I hope you'll like it none the less. Many thanks again and speak soon no doubt 🙂
Oh my goodness John!! This is incredible! I have a new favorite USACC build to follow. Makes my factory stock Mr Norms GSS seem sad. 😂. I love how you’ve transformed the complete box of a Dart into this brilliant concept. I love the air gap on the nose, I love the added vent behind the hood. The bumpers look great. Excellent use of the kit parts to make the bits and pieces and get the look headed the right direction. I also like the Dart trim at the rear. A subtle but really pretty tie in. Inspiring work, my friend. Thanks ever so much for sharing the process and I always love the photos at the end as well. Take care and good luck working on the 1:1 car this week. I’m looking forward to the next update!!
@@kyledehartsscaleworks Thanks so much Kyle, that means a great deal buddy and you're definitely too kind 🙂 really glad you like it so far, I think we definitely have similar tastes so glad things like the older dart bodylines work for other people too 🙂 and honestly Kyle, you build some of the cleanest stuff on here and really looking forward to seeing your Mr Norms one finished. I think the ability to build a clean factory stock takes a lot more skill than you're giving yourself credit for, they're definitely not easy to make look right and hence why I've not done one on the channel yet 😂 just keep doing what you're doing as we all appreciate it. Many thanks again anyways Kyle and speak soon 🙂
@ I appreciate your very kind words John! Just giving me the little push I need to try to finish that thing up. I was feeling a bit stalled on it. Not being a huge fan of the slab sided design. Again, I do love the direction you’re headed with yours and I’ll be watching for updates. Thanks again and I’ll see you on the next one!
Amazing work John, looks so cool buddy, 👍😎
@@ramblers69 Thanks so much Tom, really appreciate it mate 🙂 still a long ways to go but we're definitely getting there 🙂 many thanks again 🙂
John I love the landy top and id keep it, as far as the colors I love the blues 😊 I think it looks like a futuristic concept car for sure and it's going to be killer brother ❤😊
@@thescalemodelcarguychannel8681 Thanks Shawn, really do appreciate it brother ❤️ I think the landy top is going to stay and I'm just going to tidy it up but think it will hopefully look good when finished. Blues are definitely a strong contender too for colour choice too 😉 hope everything is well anyways Shawn, can't believe we're in February almost already though! Speak soon anyways brother ❤️
This is just brilliant…… you have the “eye” my friend
@@KrowKustoms Thanks Lee, was really hoping you'd like this one and I think seeing your stuff had really got me wanting to do something custom again.... Nothing like plonking an old styline part on a kit and working around it 😂 I'm definitely going to get in on the FFAFF too mate and will be the very next to hit the bench once I'm comfortable with the progress on this one. Hope you're keeping well anyways Lee and speak soon 🙂
Wow. Cool styling experiment. Way to go!
@@timkustom thanks so much Tim 🙂 I was thinking it was starting to look like the models in the old 60s Thunderbirds and Stingray series that they did from current amt and Johan kits with the quirky design so far 😂 definitely enjoying this one and hopefully it'll look cool when it's done. Thanks again, really appreciate it 🙂
Nice mate. Looking forward to seeing your full vision come to fruition.
@@pactrarc Thanks Adam, still a lot to do but hopefully it'll turn out nice. Will keep you posted anyways mate 🙂
Blimey what a transformation already fantastic
@@martindaredare Thanks Martin, really appreciate it mate... It definitely has progressed a bit and hopefully you'll like the end result. Hope you and the family are keeping well anyways buddy 🙂
Wow! I realy like the look of this model, each year you manage to pull something very cool in these group builds. Awesome can't wait to see how the finished model will look, black and ivory colors would realy work on this one and to be honest the citron cv would also work😂, deep metallic red with black and red vinyl Landau top. But I believe you already have a picture of the car how it looks painted in your mind so don't mind about my ideas on these builds. Carry on good Job buddy👍🏻
@@askoseppanen3779 Hi Asko, thanks buddy really appreciate it 🙂 at this point I don't think any colour combo is out of the question and I think as the bodywork is more finalised I'll probably have a better idea what it may be. I think you're right, the ivory and black would really suit it and keep going back to it in my mind, also different ways of doing it to work with the maroon colour but think I'd only bring the black into the rear quarters and roof. I've definitely set it up for pretty a lot of different choices so we'll definitely see. Thanks for the feedback, it does really help me getting my brain whirring 🙂 speak soon buddy 🙂
Wow, now that looks radical! Great looking start to the project John, i think that front bumper is from the Miami Vice Ferrari Daytona, or something very similar.
@@richardrickmason6456 Thanks so much Rik, really do appreciate it mate. And I think you have hit the nail on the head regarding the front bumper. I was thinking Ferrari with the centre grill section but just couldn't think of what kit, that's a great help thanks Rik and we'll definitely speak soon. 🙂
That would fit with the theme your going with to the car
You know what could be cool is, build a continental kit into the trunk facing up like they did on one of those cars they did back in the day
That’s wild and incredibly inspired design. I’m still really get Riveria vibes from it.
Have to say I hate the bumpers though, if they wouldn’t work in real life - which they wouldn’t - then leave them off. They just hang there, especially the front one. But that’s just my two cents 😉
Wow°!!!ove the front and rear of your design!Greenhouse a little too high and a little to much cokebottle swing! But over all great ideas craftet into this body!Maybe putting an offcenter bubble on the hood???Or like on a Mercedes-Benz R 170 hood? You have to change the "addon" on the sides so that the passenger and driver can open the doors!Because now the cant because the "widening" addons on the door and fender prevents the doors from opening!(hope you know what iam talking about!)🤔And i love vids where the "Creator" explains his wandering of ideas and inspirations!
@@williwass6837 Hi Will, many thanks for your feedback regarding the design features so far. I know some may work more than others and I guess that's all a part of customizing. I like the idea of an offset hood hump and something that has been considered, it would just mean the right inline drivetrain to go with it with a side mounted carb as doing that with a V8 wouldn't really look right but we'll see how the project progresses, at this stage nothing is off the cards. Many thanks again for your kind words and hope whatever I decide to do with this will meet an overall approval once it's all finished 🙂
looks cool the 68 dart muscle car is better than that dart the new dart is the worst one i love the old muscle car builds john
@@theoknowscars5418 Hi Theo, thanks for the kind words and really glad you're enjoying this new project buddy. Hopefully it will turn out nice when it's all finished 🙂 Many thanks once again.
The tire would not be visible just the hubcap like a spare tire they did on the back bumper in the Lincoln or the caddilac but built in the boot lid
And with a hubcap or rim
I think they built that kit into the Chrysler imperial
Build it into what some would call the boot lid
