Darth Vader + Punisher = I love it!
I appreciate the love
This video is perfect. This is the video I've been looking for for a while now. THANK YOU!
Thank you Josh. I'm glad it's useful.
I was exactly looking for this! Thankyouu for the time creating! Very nice to see 😊
I'm glad you found valur in the video. Much appreciated
Great job man!
Thanks so much, man
great job. you make it look so easy
Thank you very much. It's not so bad once you get the hang of it
Nice work brother. The polish job really makes the skull pop. I'm just starting, but have printed some models I'd like to cast. This video helped me make a decision to try sand casting first before buying a vacuum casting machine and kiln.
Thanks so much. I appreciate the kind words. I would like to see how your 1st sand casting experience is. Please let me know. I have another video where I made a batman ring using sand casting as well, if you want to check it out. It is one of my previous video
Really like the design and the finish on that.
Thanks so much. Check out my latest video. I think you'll like the finish on that ring too
Awesome! 👏
Thank you very much
Muito showww ❤
Very nice job.
Thank you! Much appreciated
Very good that is so cooy
Thanks so much.
Keep up the good job 💯💯
Thanks man
Very Impressive
Thank you very much. Much appreciated
That's a nice Punisher Ring!
I enjoyed making this ring. The technique is one of my favourites
@@thatoradebe_trj It's really nice! What is the block blue material you were carving ! If you don't mind me asking?
It's casting wax, you get different types depending on what you are trying to achieve @@LTDSilverworks
@@thatoradebe_trj I thank you so much for your response!
This is awesome Mr Thato keep up the good work..wish you could post more videos like this 👊
Asbonge. Much more is coming. I'm working on making a few more casting videos
Very cool! I have an idea, that would make it pop.
If you etched it, so that it was all covered in black, then polished it again, wow, it would look very cool too, because the lines would be very visible!
Thank you so much for the comment. It's interesting you say that because I recently made another video where I covered a ring black. It is a very similar ring to this. You can check it out on this link ua-cam.com/video/IGtdOyiqMSc/v-deo.htmlsi=I_Fi2DFwzGJLfDBM
@@thatoradebe_trj Yes, very good, but I meant the other way around, so after you etch it, then you run it on the polisher, and the lines and groves are left, leaving very pronounced marks.
But that one looks good too!
@@jjhh8425 I should give it a shot. Thank you
Thank you for this video, I love seeing your process! Did you cut the wax ring in half to avoid the molten silver cooling before the entire cast is filled? As in, making two separate parts to ensure that the silver fills each mold fully? I really wanna try sand casting myself and this is super helpful!
Thank you so much for the comment, it is much appreciated. That is partly the reason for cutting the wax in half. The main reason is because in order to sand cast you need the 2 sand rings to be separated to remove the wax. If I were to make the entire ring and then separate the rings, the mold would break apart due to the shank (the part where your finger goes through) breaking through the sand
Wow this is genius! I never thought to make it this way. Lost wax is too much a hassle. With this u can reuse the wax craving!
That's very true. I still have the carving for another time I might need it.
Glad you enjoyed the video
@@thatoradebe_trj may I ask in 18:37 what is it that you are using?
I'm using flux. You apply it to the area you want to solder so that the solder can flow
Excellent job! I've been polishing pieces with a Dremel and it takes forever and it's difficult. What type of polishing machine did you use? Also, is there a certain "spec" as to the polishing wheel you used? Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. The polishing machine is a standard polishing machine which I got at a place called goldsmith and jewellery supplies in Johannesburg, South Africa. I don't know what the brand is.
I use a "hard" and a "soft" polishing mop. And I use a compound called "unipol"
I hope that helps
@@thatoradebe_trj Thank you!
clever! alwys wondered how to make non-symmetrical design rings with delft clay, now i know :) thx!
Happy to help!
What was that power you put in your crucible at @15:25?
The powder is called borax. It helps to keep the metal clean and to help with the flow of the metal when pouring
was that welding you done to get the ring onto the skull?
its a process called soldering. It is similar to welding
What tool is that being used to do the fine detail please?
I'm using a pair of tweezers and some burs in the hanging motor
Amazing dropped a sub
Would I be able to make a curb ring using. Sand. Cast thanks
Thank you so much for the sub, much appreciated.
Yes you would be able to make a curb link using sand casting. It will take some time but it's possible. As long as you make 1 good curb link so that you can use it to make multiples, you are good
@@thatoradebe_trj sorry I mean curb ring
Thanks
@@Elites-asthetic I must've read your comment wrong but the same concept applies for a curb ring
@@thatoradebe_trj ok buddy I did ask someone else but they say because more detail and holes it can’t be done
But looking at so many different designs now I feel it can be done depending on the person and the way it’s done
If I put a curb ring on a steel cylinder tube and print it down on the sand for the actual imprint
Then replace the steel cylinder with one made of sand and place that in the print
I think this way it will work

Really? In what way?
@thatoradebe_trj just found your channel. I use my hash tag as a way to comment and find relocate good videos. But since you asked, you would be on the team cause you're 1) a maker and 2) you know the value of precious metals. In a true SHTF scenario, you always need resourceful people. I'll watch more!
@@teamSHTF thanks so much for that. I appreciate it and I'm happy to hear you enjoy my channel
Can you do a video on round onyx ring please 😁
That sounds good to me. I'll make sure I make one in the near future. Thank you for the suggestion
what cocoa powder do you use ?and the white powder?
The brown powder is delft clay and the white powder is talcum powder (baby powder). It's used to prevent the 2 halves from sticking together
what is the 2 metal circles u were using at 12:00 ??
Thank you for the question. Those are called delft clay rings.
Nice, can I have a ring made, i got a sample
Drop me an email thato@thatoradebejewellery.co.za
What metal is this?
It's sterling silver
Hi can someone tell me why my sand flows out when i make the air vents? How can i stick the sand in?
Does it flow out when you are pouring the metal?
@@thatoradebe_trj no, at the start just when i pressed that in. I lift the all part and the sand slips out
@@alessandro12171 I think maybe you didn't hammer the sand in enough. You must really give it a good hit all around and then it'll stick to the rings
@@thatoradebe_trj alright thanks. I hope the ring will join the sand even if that is really pressed
3d printer makes this job soooo much easier
Very true. This option is for people who might not have access to 3D printers
How can I make it easier with the 3D printer ? Hopefully u see this 🙏
@elieser7865 they have software/special wax resin that's used to make intricate designs without having to do it by hand. Which sure is cheating depending on who you ask. But it also helps save your hands and reduces work.
@@TheIncredibleMrTdef not cheating. But can def dictate price/worth of the piece. More sentimental value in hand ones.
