Cool stuff... I like the reflective gradiant I wonder why the iPhone 16 DNGs don't work. I didn't know that. Unfortunately, sync is still not useful 🤨. I'm still in Adobe, but is so slow know when keeping everything synced.
Thanks Marc, and I personally have not had that issue, but I have had many people report that iPhone 16 DNGs don’t work in ON1. As for sync, the more you add, the slower it gets. I personally only sync files I am working on and those that are part of my portfolio
@@FreeWillPhotos Good info, my Adobe Photo plan is syncing 131,811 total and 11,745 are videos. It works, it stays in sync, but really slow. And unfortunately is slows down everything in Adobe. Maybe this is why ON1 doesn't finish theirs. Maybe it's just a lost cause and storing in something like SmugMug makes more sense. If I were to take Sync out of the Adobe equation, ON1 is a much faster product.
Before editing an iPhone photo, because of the small sensor, and possibly some cropping needed, would you recommend re-sizing the image at the beginning, or at all? Thanks!
Hey Mark, sorry for my delay in responding and great question. I would only recommend resizing the image if you plan to print the image and the existing resolution will not support your print, or if you plan to crop the image heavily. I would recommend the same thought process even for higher resolution cameras. In my case I was editing a 12MP file which would get me a really good print up to 11x14, without cropping. I usually don't print larger than 8x10 with iPhone photos which really only needs about 8MP of resolution, so I would not need to resize the image as long as I keep my crop between 8-12MP or resolution. With that said, you do bring up a good thought on knowing what you plan to do with the final image. If you know you want to print large, it may be a good idea to resize the image to fit the desired print size. If you only plan to display the final image on social media or some other digital means, I would say you don't need to resize the image.
No problem! As of right now I am only hearing reports of the new iPhone RAW files not working. I have an iPhone 13 Pro and ON1 can edit my DNG images with no issues.
@@FreeWillPhotos Awesome!! Thank you for confirming. If ON1 doesn't have support on the newer iPhone, I'm sure they will very soon. Thanks again! Apprecioate Ya!! Have a great Thanksgiving!! 👍
Nice. I like your "have fun" approach to editing. Subscribed.
Welcome to the community, and thank you for the sub! I do love to have fun with my photos and ON1 is a great program to explore some of my ideas.
