@@musicbsharpYa gotta do a Part 2. I was unbelievably butt hurt disappointed that there were no snarky, satirical comments about the MM Stingray. While you’re at it, don’t forget to include Kiesel (formerly Carvin) basses when you make a Part 2.

Thank you so much. Honestly, it's comments like these that keep me going. Please feel free to share my videos/channel with anyone you think might enjoy it around the internet or IRL. Again, thanks!
Hello from Wales, United Kingdom! I play a short scale Fender Mustang bass and have owned it since 2019 when I was in a rock band. Best bass I've ever fingered and had a good time with. Your videos are awesome and am looking forward to seeing more future uploads! 🎸🎸
Thank you! I'll definitely be doing a part 2 eventually. I just finished recording part 2 of What Your Electric Guitar Says About You which will be out in a couple weeks. I'll be doing part 2 of What Your Bass Guitar Says About You at some point. Again, thanks!
It really was this simple. I played a bunch of basses that went "boom boom boom" but this dusty Jazz bass went "DENG DENG DENG" and to my 17 year old idiot self, it sounded killer. To my 37 year old idiot self, it still sounds killer..
I always forget about Washburns. An old friend had a solid-body (one-piece) Washburn 6-string guitar that I used to absolutely love. Played and sounded amazing
Hey 👋 Ellis, as a player of a fretless fender precision I am honored to have the 1st and 5th mentions in your video, which is top shelf btw. Does it take a little bit of practice to intonate properly with confidence, yeah, and if you’re not “ en-ti-re-ly tone-deaf”😎 you can play some dam good music with it. Heavy metal with a pick…ain’t happen’n, but with jazz, blues, fusion, and a lot of rock it sounds phenomenal. And as with any guitar.. the notes are on the instrument… the music is in your hands. Love the video. Keep them coming. Play well.
Thank you! I totally agree with everything you've said. My experience with fretless basses is very limited so in my hands they sound awful - with or without a pick haha.
Brilliant! I was snarfing my yogurt while watching this and blew some on my laptop while laughing so hard....because I want to appear like I eat healthy even though in reality it's all I can afford because I have so many basses....that I'm occasionaly precise on and want to look cool so I had to buy a Gibson and well, have to have that Ricky tone too, & other basses that no one cares about, hence only 1 meal a day so I can be that 'starving musician' ;)
LOL. A day after watching this, I bought an Epiphone Thunderbird, because I already own a '74 Fender P-bass (so I can look like Paul Simonon/Dee Dee Ramone), but don't want to spend big money on a Gibson.
I own both fretted and fretless Fender Precisions, a Fender Jazz, two Gibson Thunderbirds, a few Rickenbackers and others that reflect on me so badly that I won't mention them...... 😂
Thank you! I grew it just so I could make fun of it haha. Half the stuff I say in these videos is actually making fun of myself. The basses and guitars I talk the most shit about tend to be the ones I love the most lol. Thanks for watching!
As a bass player for 30 years I can certify that every word he said is absolutely true. And I'm also a lefty.... so double all for me....I play a 5 string Ibanez and a 5 string Steinberger.... so I'm all kinds of fucked up....
It's funny you say that. My next video is about being a left-handed musician. It'll be out in a few weeks. And I'm right there with you, all sorts of fucked up haha
@@rocketpigrecords3719 Agreed. It's even worse for aftermarket upgrades. I spent $1,500 getting Bartolini to custom wind left-hand pickups for me. A righty can buy the same ones for like $100.
@Red Scorpion 6 tried buying a left handed Marshall head, some dick just rehoused a combo in a different cabinet. Lot of sheisters out there, caviar Endor.
Ok so I play an Ibanez RG 560 guitar (Rhythm) and have been playing for 35 years. I just recently bought a Schecter C-5 Plus Electric Bass a 5 string. I figure if Im gonna fuck it up may as well go all the way. Got any advice for a 53 year old metal head just learning to play the bass. Oh love the handlebar mustache BTW 😉
I have a RG that I absolutely love. Been playing about 30 years myself. I also have a 5-string Ibanez bass. The best tip I can give to you or any other guitarist wanting to get good at the bass is to treat it as a separate instrument. For a long time I just thought of it as a guitar with less strings (something I joke about a lot in these vids). But the bass is an instrument in its own right with its own quirks, its own techniques, tips, tricks, etc. And as a (soon) 43-year-old metal head, I will say that I've found more motivation to get better at the bass from genres other than metal (funk in particular). Metal bass is often (but not always) quite boring to me. I hope you find that at least a little helpful. Enjoy the Schecter!
@@musicbsharp Thank you for the advice. I have been working on my slap picking and hoping to get it. I want to expand my playing from rock and metal to blues and funk. My advice to you is keep these videos coming. You're one of the best things on You Tube. I wish you luck on growing this channel and can't wait to see your next creation.
If you mean clock, I realized that after this video was recorded. In the next one (which has already been recorded) it's fixed. But thanks for pointing that out - unless you actually mean camera in which case I have no idea what you're talking about.

Musicman Sting Ray players left untouched...and rightfully so 🎸✌🏻
