      Praises to the Prince of Peace, Mighty God, the Judge and Savior of all his creation Christ, who by his death redeemed the world, and in his great mercy and love only requires from us these simple things to have everlasting life, to repent and turn from sins and sin no more, live righteously, love others as yourself, and Believe he is the one true God, continue in this way and you will conquer all fear and sins, and inherit eternal life with our King.

      @eva-w 2 роки тому +17

      Did you get them as adults? Did they live 4-5 years with you or that's how old they were when they passed? 7-8 years is considered old age for guinea pigs. Maybe they were inbred. That's also what I'm wondering about with the herd in the video...

    • @fundude9938
      @fundude9938 2 роки тому +13

      @@eva-w well two of them were originally going to be snake food. We originally had one guinea pig named Luna, but then we got the other two from my grandma. When we got the two there was a mother and a baby I would assume to be a few months old. I'm not sure how old the mother was, but we had her for almost four years, making her probably about 7 years old. The child guinea pig became really obese though because it would hog all of the food and ended up having health issues. It only lasted about 3 and a half years total. So the mother died first, then the baby after a short life, and then Luna. Luna was around probably a little over five years but she also had some illness at one point. She recovered from it, but it probably weakened her too. So I guess my estimation might have been a little off.

    So cute seeing them go around like little walking eggplants. Also, those who are concerned for their well-being because of the chickens, the chickens consider them friends VERY LIKELY. Chickens are incredibly socially intelligent animals and they are empathetic, they care about their friends, coop buddies and family. Since these piggos live with the chickens, they're very likely extremely close and the chickens consider them coop mates. A chicken will eat a mouse, a lizard, a snake, a frog, etc but that happens with individuals they don't know. Those who have familial relations to their friends and mates, they will not eat.
    I am curious about how many, if any, of these piggos are neutered. It would be sensible to neuter at least some of them to prevent overpopulation, but they all still look so healthy and happy! Is the area protected from predators? They can't go outside of the property, right? You have such amazing little lawnmowers.

    • @asmodeus304
      @asmodeus304 2 роки тому +173

      chickens are social, yes, but theyre not like humans-anthropomorphizing them is misleading. chickens will not hesitate to tear apart things that appear weak or things they view as food, and I could see a genuine concern if u had more aggressive chickens. fortunately these seem fine

    • @avva4090
      @avva4090 2 роки тому +87

      I would imagine some of them are eaten by predators while out grazing. You can't really protect a cute little piggo from hawks, cats, or foxes all day.
      Nor should they, IMO. Predators deserve to survive as well, and the occasional predation is probably good to keep the population controlled. Sad to think about, but thinking about an owl dropping dead from starvation is sad too 🤷🏾

If you have never had one before, it can be confusing to know whether or not it's safe to bathe your beloved piggy. When you're stroking that soft fur, you may start to think that a bath will make their coat even softer. The general rule of thumb when grooming these adorable creatures is that you should not bathe them unless a bath is needed for a specific reason. Much like cats, they groom themselves often and prefer to do their own grooming." - Small Pet Select (July 1st, 2020)

People see how clean and friendly they can be with some water and good food, plus a little attention. Most of mine are as clean as Mike Tyson's birds, though nowhere near as expensive.
    I have great conversations nearly every day and I think it's helpful to expose people to an alternative to what they've been told all their lives. There are also sparrows, mourning doves, mockingbirds and big black Grackles and this time of year, the European starlings migrate to Nevada.

      I can probably answer your question about getting them back in! They're really really good about forming habits and routines. My pigs know dinner is at 6:00pm and from about 5:45 they will begin wheeking to let me know its supper time. They also know which sounds mean food, rustling plastic, fridge opening, etc. In this case it sounds like they're banging on a bucket to let the pigs know its supper time and the pigs know they get fed in the barn so will all rush back in

    We had three free-ranging guinea pigs, and they were such menaces when we had to bring them in for the night once they realised they could go into the hedge haha. One of them, a little feral beast of a thing (we loved him all the same), stayed in there for three nights, and was living his best life. We ended up calling the hedge the Dreadfort, because the pig was named Ramsay Bolton 🏰
