I bought both my daughters quite expensive tactical pens and they seem a little different in design having dna catchers and glass breakers on one end, the writing end is much much sharper so when the nib is retracted it becomes a quite sharp stabby thing and with my youngest it was actually put to use when a bloke late one night thought of giving her a bit of a grab near some bushes and he got one heck of a surprise and an even nastier surprise when he was arrested several days later with his dna matching the stuff embedded in the pen end.
That is indeed a really beautifully done piece of work! I love the engaging-action. Altought I'm failing to understand how is this pen "tactical" and "self-defense".
After I've commentet, I indeed looked after what is a tactical pen. By the light of my new knowledge, I have to say that this pen is indeed can be used as a tactical pen! Also a cheapo plastic pen can be used as a tactical pen as I understand, as long you as stab your attacker in the neck -or inner tigh-, and even break the pen into the flesh. Pretty much everything can be tactical in the skilled hands.
You my friend, are a Metallurgical Surgeon!! This is fine and beautiful workmanship. Also your video creations deserve a great deal of praise. Beautiful camera angles, and a great and unintrusive use of music. Many Tubers could take cues from your work. I am a fan for life. Support this type of hard work, please!
I was thinking the same, maybe we are missing something? It looks awesome but i don't see how you woukd defend yourself apart from sticking it in someones eye.
When you hit someone with a self defense pen all your force is pinpointed to a very specific area and causes much pain/damage...Imagine a punch from a fist at 700lbs. per square inch and now imagine all that force pinpointed to a tiny area...Mucho pain lol.
I really think that the primer side should have a purpose other than holding the clip otherwise it is just dead weight. PS this gave me a lot of fun ideas and keep up the good work
Beautiful design and construction, If I may, The only thing missing is a textured grip. This is Mandatory for a self defense pen because if you get it covered with blood, yours even(the reason you pull it out?) with a grip like you have the pen will slip from the hand as blood is very slippery. Thats why all the good commercial ones have a textured grip. Honestly, beautiful work, I cant make something like that. Hope my knowledge helped you perfect your creations.

I’m guessing most people are wondering how it is self defence- here is my answer which I’m 90% sure is correct. It is hardened brass, which for those who don’t play with metal much, is very heavy and tough to break. Next, the tip is very thin. And lastly, anyone who passed physics in high school would know that force is determined by the pressure and the surface area of the object inflicting it. Imagine someone with a normally average strength punch hitting you in the side of the head. Now imagine that force but focused on a tiny point. See, ouch.

Absolutely gorgeous, the pen is mightier than the sword, but the gun is mightier than the pen.
I am always amazed at how beautiful lathe work is....when you don't have to listen to the noise.

I believe it becomes a self defense pen the exact moment it becomes firmly planted in an attackers eye. Until then, it's just a really cool pen.
Dubi it's hard brass.. And I'm guessing heavy. You can wield it like a knife and hurt others i think
