They don’t care. These neighborhoods are mostly black neighborhoods and full of gang violence, drugs, and prostitution. They don’t care what living conditions they are in. Plus it doesn’t help that the city doesn’t also clean up the streets. Our mayor is disgusting for not giving our tax dollars to schools and communities like this to better Houston.
If they would get together and clean up their community that wouldn’t happen. Ghettos are only the fault of the people who live there. No one is stopping your community from coming together picking up trash, mowing yards, and slapping some paint on your house. They live in ghettos because they create them.
It’s much deeper than that buddy, trash scattered like this happens everywhere humans are, you ever go outside on trash day if it was windy or stormy? … it goes to show you how some areas in the US just get neglected and ignored and people just expect it to fix itself.
This is not all about taking pride in where you live, or picking up trash. It's about where all of the federal maintenance funding is going. What neighborhoods is it all being dumped into? Certainly not the Negro communities. Pigs don't love to live in filth. They're programmed to do so.
And this is just 3rd Ward. What about 5th Ward- Liberty Rd., Sunnyside, Greenspoint AKA "Gunspoint", and Southlawn? I dare you do Bissonnet/Club Creek, lol. Stay safe.

Big difference between there and Houston would likely be the weather. Houston’s weather is a sharp contrast to Michigan in the winter time. Christmas 2021 the high had reached the low to mid 80s here.
3rd ward is also a of Houston, it would be nice if the city took pride in all areas and do there part in keeping all sections of the city maintained, large trash pickup sidewalks repairs, streets and ditches tended to things like that would go a long way in looking as nice as they appear to be peaceful, so you are right the city should take pride in all it's area not some and neglect others

Seagoville is just a staging area for the Army Reserve training units. There's nothing there and your brother's truck is likely in Mexico or broken down for parts.
They were very common back in the day. Many were produced for rental car fleets as well. It's unsurprising a few survivors made it to the hood along with what seems to be every Buick Regal ever built.

My car broke down closed to those neighborhoods and we had to get a ride to a convenience store we only took 10 minutes to come back to broken windows and my baby's car seat stolen 🙃
biggest issue is abandoned properties with trash dumped there and city won't pick it up because no one pays for that address trash pickup. City needs to clean up empty lots.

I worked for Houston Distributing (Miller) years ago, they use to send the white boys to service stores off MLK. My route was Wayside and south of downtown, they never messed with the beer man though haha. Definitely an eye opening experience. I’m like can I just get Katy or the woodlands 😂

This area that he drove in is around the 3rd ward by U of H and southeast of downtown. I was also born in this area and parents lived here til I was 2.

If you live in a nice area of Texas, Houston is a no-go zone. It's a place you bypass if you're headed to Galveston, but that's about it. It is a cesspool.

It’s so bad…. This ride- in the far- zero gun shots - no screams- no rocks, bricks, sirens, higher rude noise level in upscale gated communities - what was your point? Was that a bait title? Looks like heavy trash pickup service failing for these residents and the hoe of worldly renowned sports groups city could do a much better job with city service provisions Much more positive content here than negative and I’m glad for that opportunity.

Houston is one massive ghetto, with some spotty nice neighborhoods in between.
Bloody 5th……..one of my former bosses was from that area and the stories he told about his unsaved years with heavy drug use, alcoholism and running the streets.

People would say " be careful in Houston watch where you go" i was like!! You have never been to mexico Tamaulipas, Michoacan,Guanajuato, Zacatecas. Those neighborhoods are a walk in the park..
