Trees and tinsel are decor. Egg hunts and festivals are games and opportunities for fellowship. It is important to consider the focus in the midst of those times. For example, in my house, we would decorate for Christmas, play the games, and watch the shows, but we kept the focus on Christ. We taught that the shows were fictitious stories, no different than Spiderman movies. We explained that the gifts were not required. Then, on Christmas day, as we do every day, we honored God and recognized Christ. However, because it is a "holiday," we are afforded time to put a brighter highlight on Christ in unity with the family.

We did literally cut down a tree one year, or at least we tried. The guy at the place finished it for us once we realized how hard it was.😂
