- Today, majority of the people know Hellen Tolbert for her amazing fashion taste and dedication to her company Ellen Designs.
However, this woman has also scrabbed toilets and washed dishes in Java, sold Mitumba's and farmed tomatoes.
She tells Lynn Ngugi what makes her tick is her ability to take seriously all opportunities presented to her and work hard towards becoming a better version of herself
Here is her story on today's episode of Inspire Global

This lady Hellen is so authentic. She's made me some dresses in the past and I tell you she is hands on. Doesn't lie, picks up your calls, listens to your requests and makes it happen. She is genuine and loveliest designer I know. God bless you always. Am so happy to hear her story. She's a wonderful person.

Very inspiring Story. One thing which I realized from the Story is that She is an awesome employer because for employees to own the Job and work extra hours, means that they are Happy and motivated in their work. Kudos 👍 Lynne 👌

Aki these stories give me hope, nakuambia i cry, I sobb and I'm really thankful for all the guests who share their stories. Madam Hellen thank you so much. I'm so touched and inspired
Ellen has a rich voice and very articulate .. I'd listen to this a million times
The only thing that matters is when you believe in ur self, I was toilet in a restaurant bar, sell vegetables, njugu and mitumba on the street, defeated to pay rent , work as house maid, now I'm working in abroad as a secretary without any college certificate, I can pay sch fees for my siblings one In college two in highschool and my mom's house also I'm building from no body to some body, we were so poor we didn't even have house ,me and my sister we use to sleep at the neighbor's house and I remember how her daughter in law use to tell us that we should pay or help them to clean hmmm, there's God in heaven never give up my Mom went through alot she was the most poorest woman in a village of rich people with beautiful big house yet my mom in single small house iron sheet door . Truly there's God in heaven
Ellen is the best..she made our dresses for a wedding back in 2019...big up💕💕💕❤️❤️❤️
You were a blessing to me. You were my neighbor in Bururu and you gave me strength at a time when I was so low. Am so happy to see the blessings in your life. May God continue enlarging your territories.

This lady is pretty like Lynn Ngugi with great inspirational story. You two women are an epitome of Kenyan true-hard-work women. We have Kenyan women who truly merit their achievements through sheer hard work. Leave alone free riders/Kula fare category, Helen, Lynn and many others need genuine accolades. I affirm you ladies.
May all of us 1 day have inspiring story to tell, no matter what struggles and hardship we are going through now 1 day we shall have a testimony ya what we have gone through, The key to success is to focus on your goals and have a positive mindset always 🙏

We have similar experiences. I heard two miscarriages, last year and this year. Am still motherless.
I remember my first salary in garissa county was 10k. My rent was 3k, had two hse mates. Each contributed 1k. The hse had no ceiling, no tiles and shared pot latrines and bathroom.
I used to save alot and now am in a better place. I already have one title deed and I hope that before end of 2022, I’ll have two titles. Am so grateful to God. And yes you have to start from somewhere. Plus i have ocd

I was so encouraged to finished the family story thru Part 1 and 2. I love the way they started and handle their family. I am so honor with wife bec. what she said was all true, that we catholic in the Philippines don’t read the bible and no preacher to explain the word of God, aside from the Priest when you go to mass. There are catechism back on those days but it was gone as years gone by. Lovely family and I admire your spiritual living. Kudos to you kabayan❤️❤️❤️
